Wow great reaction! Yes, she is brilliant. She also has a great team putting up all her performance together. Her fashion designer also created her dress which has meanings that match the song. And I found out, she also asked the cameraman to angle the camera according to her own desires which as I can see the shots were beautifully taken.

Seems like a direct translation to me. For example, "Lemah tak berkaki tak dipeduli" should be translated as "Fealing weak as if legless and been ignored". Some other lines also seems a bit off that need to be corrected

Semalam (Yesterday) by Aina Abdul. Its about a pregnant women or a housewife that has been abu$ed/domestic violence by their spouse, which affected them mentally and physically. She wanted to raised this issue, give awareness abt domestic violence. Its like having a toxic relationship that women cant get out from.
And thats how the Dress related to. The designer said, all the pleated on the dress, has its own meaning. The hat, the huge hat. It meant for a place for a baby/child to sleep or lean on. Bcs its related to the lyrics which interpreted for a husband abu$ing his wife while the wife pregnant, and loss her child which lead to lyrics “Terus engkau pergi, tinggal 'ku sendiri, ditemani jasad ini” meaning: you really gone, left me alone, accompanied me with this body/figure.
I also forgot to mention, the black dress means darkness and all the bruises, all the pain and sorrow that a women have been carried. Thats why the pleated is repeating on her dress. Its overlapping, its an act of repeating between old bruise to new bruises….. and it left scars. And you both need to google her full dress look from behind. Theres a pleated in red color, which a symbolic for new/fresh cut/bruise/blood. And every women in Malaysia who’d been going thru this, agreed with Semalam by Aina Abdul and she really telling a story from her voice and emotional.

I thought aina did a splendid job here. It appears to me (a layman, ordinary listener) that aina has a story to tell through this short peformance of 'Semalam' (not just a song to sing). And I not only understand the story, i totally empathise with the human condition involved in the story via this particular performance of 'Semalam' by aina as compared to her other performances of 'Semalam' although she might have sung much better in those other perfomances. Why? Because she sang it raw not just from her heart but from the heart of the main character of the song, the real story teller - from the impartial, quiet tones when she begins to tell the story (keeping the emotions in check) through what chase & melia called as the huge tone at the height of the story where the story tells of the pain of disbelief & loss of trust (at the betrayal of the loved one). This huge tone appears big at this pt because it does not only come in the form of a question - 'Mana . . .' but it was also sung in the form of a question. After this, there can only be a build up into loud, angry tones that can only end with the high wailing note at the end of the story/song. I can definitely feel and hear in her voice the bewilderment of betrayal; the emotional, mental & physical pain of abuse and the anger that follows all through aina's way of singing the song. It is in this way that the depth of the whole story/song is eventually revealed.
Recommend u to react to her performance for vocal mania final where she sings shadow and i surrender. She won it against the other accomplished singers and newbie entry singers.
Shadow is her own composition whereas i surrender is a cover from celine dion.
