    [Course 1 Lesson A]
Japanese pronunciation is one of the easiest out of all the Asian languages. It is based on just five simple vowel sounds. Once you master those vowel sounds they rest of the sounds are easy as cake. Even if you pronounce your Japanese with a heavy foreign accent over time you can correct your accent so don't get depressed if your Alabama accent seems to be holding you back!
This video is part of the courses on:
fromzero.com based on the Japanese From Zero! (learnfz.com/JFZamazon) book series written by George Trombley and Yukari Takenaka

Don't give up!! I'm still learning kanji, and I started a year ago. Don't rush through it, as Utter Otter CHOICE stated previously in the thread. Its going to take a while, but one day, you'll look back at yourself and say, "I'm glad I kept going."
I gave up a few times, and it will seem impossible at times, because theres obviously a lot of elements in Japanese that aren't present in English, but I promise you, you'll get through it with the right amount of dedication.

Looks very much like the hyper George from 5 years ago... :) You make any topic so fun and I love your sense of humor too. By the way, in your previous video you said that those who are just starting to learn Japanese are probably going to text you in 4-5 years to say they've gotten fluent. Well, I've been learning it for almost 2 years, and about a year ago I watched one of your old videos where you speak Japanese and I didn't understand a thing. One year later I watch the same video and I understand everything! It feels so good to see yourself making progress and I recommend to all those considering to learn Japanese to just go for it!
So thanks for all your hard work and I hope you keep it up! :)

Your videos have really helped me understand the clarity of Japanese. Luckily, I won't ever have an issue with Japanese pronunciation because I'm Spanish, and the two languages use the same vowels, so I'm already used to pronunciation.

True. I speak multiple Indian languages, and I find spoken Japanese quite natural, easy and pleasant. Kanji on the other hand, not so much. After learning basic grammar and hiragana/katakana, you can just build your vocabulary by listening to spoken japanese organically over time. For me, I like music, so japanese songs are a good way for me to build vocabulary.

Being bilingual already helps making these concepts soooo much easier!! I do have a part of my brain that interprets "to" as the English "to", but at the same time I have a part of my brain that interprets "to" as the Japanese to, since the Portuguese pronunciation of vowels is so close to the Japanese one.

And about this specific video of pronunciation it's a lot easy for us, portuguese speakers cause the sounds are the same in portuguse. I think its a little bit harder for a english speaker. In portuguese A I U E O (hrre the order is A E I O U) soudns exactly tha same. The only diference is that in portuguese in some words E may be pornounced as I and O as U, mostly when they are in the end of the words.
