Old Town PDL Drive Mount for Safe Transport

- I wanted to be able to transport my Old Town PDL 106 (works with PDL 120 as well) kayak with the pedal drive in place because I dont have space in my trunk for it with my other fishing gear and I dont want to put it in the backseat where it could puncture my pleather.
I used a blank template and started jig sawing out a hole for the PDL fin and drive housing and ended up with a very secure mount for the PDL drive that spreads out the support and prevents staining the mount arms when driving and hitting bumps while trailoring.

Very nice! Thank you for sharing!
This is really exceptional. Thanks for taking the time to explain and share your thought process. Much appreciated....
Looks nice but I think wood might split or warp. I use an insert from Navarre, I rest the drive fin on the insert and wrap a bungee around the drive to the seat frame. It doesn't move at all during transport.
I doubt it would split. I like the sound of your setup where it would be easier to make. The roads are bad around here - i watched my fish finder fling off its mount last fall on a pothole, so I hope this gives it enough stability for the up down and left right forces.
Hows the fishing ? Been catching a ton of bass . Ellsworth Maine .
Went out yesterday and got 3 bass, the other time I went out a week ago, nothing. When the edges green up Ill be back in business!
@@mainelyhobbies very nice :) I have gone at least once a week for 5 weeks and they really have picked up the last 2 weeks. Get out there:) maybe see ya one day on the water.
