Quite enjoyed the BMouth fans doing their best to make it seem like a rivalry 😂 think most of us here actually want BMouth to do well. There’s only one south coast derby and hell would have to freeze over before I’d ever hope that club down the M27 do well.
yeah singing ‘ when the saints go championship ‘ like we haven’t had ages to accept that, personally i prefer being championship, means we could actually win, realistically we were never gonna win the prem but we could do well in the championship, the only team i think that could beat the prem in the last few years was the 14/15 15/16 team lol

Mccarthy is so weak ,buzuma needs improvement but mccarthy is terrible, i genuinely think forster would of kept us up last season 😢
Yeah well we need a new keeper, but it’s hardly like Forster was that much better? He had two spells where everyone wanted him gone, and would never come off of his line and would be so poor on the ball.
As yeah he was probably just a bit better than the other two, but in no way on earth would him of staying made us any closer to staying up

@@urbanfarmerurbangenohunter477 but he just wasn’t though, I mean that amount of fans on here that seem to forget so quickly as to how poor certain players were with us, but act like they were amazing just because their replacements were rubbish, is astounding.
As he also messed up consistently and like I said before never came off his line and distributed the ball so poorly. As yeah he was better, but he’d still have made very little difference last season, and could sometimes be just as bad as the two we’re left with. As he’s not prem quality either which is why spurs have just signed a new keeper as he’s far from being good enough for their number 1, but the two we’ve currently got I’m doubting if they’re even championship quality which is why I’d still rather have him.

Shea Charles cost us a goal and gave us one. McCarthy.... I mean, the dude almost gave them 6 goals, what a crap keeper, get him out!
Tbf though, McCarthy did also pull off some cracking saves as well, as he’s no better nor any worse than Bazunu, as we really need a new keeper fullstop for this coming season
@@elijahkhaira Baz is young though, and thats what hes got over mccarthy, realistically, if we go back to the prem next season, hes who were going to want to have the confidence and so he needs to be playing. How many years you think Alex has left in him and you know if they shoot near post its going in
@@tommy1-tap441 yeah I don’t disagree with any of what your saying about age or potential, but the issue is that right now we need a decent reliable keeper, and neither of them are that, which is why that for this coming season we need a new one.

@@stephenwilson9480 what makes you say that? He plays with the same style as Kompany did with Burnley, and look what happened there. Seems to be a decent manager from what I can tell and he's finally unlocked our attack which was relatively dismal all of last year.
@@Mr.McMuffin He's was at mk Dons for two years and lost more games than he won and the same at Swansea. He hasn't improved any team he's been at. Your comment contradicts itself as well because you said he plays the same style as kompany and he did well but that goes to show that Martin isn't a very good manager because he hasn't done anything in his managerial career whereas kompany just gets better and better and won promotion in his first season in England. Martin is nowhere near kompanys level
@@stephenwilson9480 When he was managing Swansea, he was managing a team on a shoe string budget, and yet he got them to a playoff final. At MK Dons he impressed basically everyone with how he avoided relegation, and overall, I think we should wait to see how he does in the first few months before we judge him too harshly at Southampton.

We take alot of risks playing out but that's what Martin wants. Will be alot of high scoring games this season

@@deletebilderberg the philosophy behind building from the back is that you want to bring the other team on to you in order to have more space to attack in behind. the trick is playing your way out of that pressure when the other team does push forward. this obviously leads to giving away cheap goals, but it also leads to great attacking opportunities if the players can play their way out of it. im not arguing for or against this line of thinking, but that is why some managers ask their teams to take risks in front of their own goal
We have a MASSIVE problem between the sticks. Everyone can see that our GK's are not up to the standard required. If not addressed it will have a huge impact on our quest to bounce straight back up.

Well not convinced about display, defending is truly weak. No chance Saints will get back to PL with this game, they have to be dominant.

I watched the B team get hammered by Weymouth last night, most goals caused by playing out from the back. At 3-0 down our goalkeeper foot on the ball looking for a short pass to make.

I know these have only been friendlies, but I'm seeing the same mistakes every single game. We're going to struggle if we don't get this awful defence sorted out

Passing from the defence needs be a lot better if you’re going to play from the back, needs to be sharper and more decisive. A lot of the times it seemed as if they’re wondering if it was a good idea as they passed it 😵💫 obviously it wasn’t then. And passing across the goal lol back to school boy football now. Please use some common sense.

I think that's a too small amount of money for a very talented player like Roméo Lavia who comes from a big team in Premier League like Liverpool FC. The best price for Roméo Lavia, I think, is around 70-80 millions pounds

Neville Southall at the age of 100 is still better than McCarthy. I’ve seen better goalies in the under 13s.
