How to Download Embroidery Designs + Transfer from Computer to Embroidery Machine

- FAQ: How do you download embroidery design files, then transfer them from a computer to the embroidery machine? This is a basic beginner demonstration for Windows-based PCs (sorry Mac users!) and the Brother PE800 embroidery machine. I purchase a lot of embroidery designs from Etsy and various websites. Typically the download files are zipped (compressed) and need to be unzipped (extracted) before they are ready for use. Each brand of embroidery machine uses their own compatible file type. For example: Brother uses .pes files. While you can transfer embroidery files as-is to the embroidery machine, embroidery software allows you to combine or alter designs & fonts. I also go over using .bx fonts and how to import them into the Embrilliance program. You will need a USB flash drive.

Is there anyway to make your own design? What Embroidery Machine should I get? The one I found so far it seams like they might work but I'm not sure how you might create your own logo or template from scratch. Thanks! I would like to know more! Sounds like a great hobby and it would be cool to make your own patterns and sell them on eBay or other websites so other people could use them. I could totally see a machine paying for itself.

What size of thumb drive do you use with the pe800? I was told that I should use a thumbdrive no larger than 8gb.

So can’t use any Mac products on Brother machines? Well can you down load with jump drive from Mac ?
If you can create a file on a USB drive with the correct design on it, you should be able to use it in your machine.
I bought a embroidery design but I don’t know what color to use how do I find that

@@Servant_for_salvation you will need a adapter. I have a cord that plugs into the bottom of my iPhone just like the charger does. The other end of the cord is a little box that a usb plugs into. You will be working with the files app if you are using an iPhone.
What do you name the folder? Does it matter?
