Himanta Sarma Campaign In Muslim Dominated Nagaon After PM's 'Wealth Redistribution To Muslims' Jibe

BJP's strong Hindutva face in north east and Chief minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, had earlier claimed that he won't seek votes in Muslim dominated areas. But as the Lok Sabha elections gain momentum....the former congress stalwart is campaigning in Nagaon of Assam. He is busy shaking hands....waving and even sending off flying kisses while mouthing "I love you" to the masses of Nagaon. In the ongoing second phase of polling, two Lok Sabha constituencies, Nagaon and Karimganj have become centre of CM's attention, where the electorate is predominantly Muslim. Himanta Biswa Sarma in despite his earlier statements is showing all the love to the Muslims. Addressing the crowd in Samaguri under Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency, Sarma questioned Congress' claims and asked if anyone was facing any issue in 'namaz ada' or in celebrating Eid? He went on to ask if someone was troubled while 'Roja'?" He challenged Congress' narrative, asking the audience whether they have experienced any hindrance to their religious practices during the BJP's tenure.
While Every leader of BJP is firing salvos to defend PM's remark and to expose Congress' weaknesses....Himanta Biswa Sarma has jumped right into the battlefield and taken the fight to the front lines. Will this strategy work in gaining these elusive Muslim votes? This will be answered as these constituencies vote in second phase.
