I am pretty sure many have given up on watercolors due to inability, or lack of confidence in controlling their paint and water. I know, its challenging. Its really a feel, although there are some techniques, which I'm sharing here! BTW, I also go into detail in my NEW watercolors for Beginners online course for you, with worksheets too. debbie-walker....
This video should be a big help, informative and hopefully take some of the intimidation and fear of this medium. If I can strip away some of the fear, and confusion out of this technique for you I will be thrilled.

BEGINNER'S PLAYLIST • Welcome Beginners! Th...
Keep practicing I've got you. Practice these daily, and this I know, you WILL GET BETTER.
Watercolors are like no other medium for me, they are mysterious, spontaneous, exciting, and always showing me something new they can do.
    SUPPLIES IM USING HERE
My complete supply list on Amazon for you. a.co/bYVkwpB
I invite you to practice an entire sheet for these powerful practices.
The more familiar and comfortable you get with these techniques your paintings will improve! I still get blooms, drips, and crazy things, and I have learned to accept them as some of the little gifts that watercolors elicit! In practicing these, you are beginning to gain familiarity and com portability with watercolors.
The more you practice, the more you will gain muscle memory.
It is so rewarding when all of a sudden, you get it! You will be painting up a storm.

Thank you for your video I can never get enough of these they are so helpful to remind to practice. Especially when I don't know what I want to paint or if I am not in the mood to paint these are a great idea to just practice.

You are so welcome! I love that you know what inspires you when you want to paint but not inspired. I quite often will just play, use my favorite colors, brushes, and next thing you know I am inspired again. Paint what you love :-) These are great practices too for that muscle memory. Most of all have fun!

I so enjoy your videos that I made up a drinking game! Every time you confuse petal with leaf, take a drink!😅 Seriously though, i learn a lot with your videos and enjoy them a lot even though i don't practice as much due to a busier schedule than before. But I still watch and enjoy! Thank you, Debbie!❤

@@DebbieWalkerArtmadeeasy don't worry, I usually do it with juice, coffee, water or pretend drink! 😂 I love watching your videos and hearing your enthusiasm for water colors. I also go to an acrylic class at my clinic for beginners and I like water colors better! 😉

I find my biggest problem is seem to always have added too much water to my paint so my paintings are light or don’t have a lot of pop. I have done a couple of the transparent flower pics that this works great for but not for non transparent images.

@@user-nq1hh7ie8e Hi friend, a suggestion- practice creating three values of your pigment.
One that is a mixture of 80% paint/ 20% water = darkest value high saturation
      50% paint/50% water = mid value
      80% water/20% paint = lightestvalue
Always tap off your brush before going to your canvas or paper to remover excess liquid
      I hope that helps 🎨🖌️

¿What is the best type of tape to secure the paper ?

    • @DebbieWalkerArtmadeeasy
      @DebbieWalkerArtmadeeasy  Před měsícem

A few ways I secure my paper
      Washy tape amzn.to/4bXljdH
      Painters tape
      I have also used masking.
Make sure when you remove tape you wait till your paintings is dry, or you can risk tearing the paper. Also pull towards the side vs holding and pulling upwards.
I typically if painting really wet, I use a watercolor paper block by Meeden. works great! amzn.to/3LM6VKk
