Hello! I have a question, I hope you can help me. I visited my landlord last week (an elderly woman). She has a big 27inch Philips CRT from 2002 I think, with component, supervideo and composite inputs, comb filter, surround sound. She told me I can take it, but it's located upstairs and it looks very weighty. Is it worth the effort? I have a 27inch Panablack from 2007 and by the way, it's very hard to use with light gun games for some reason. Do you think the Philips is better for retro gaming?
I have a KV27S42 and I cannot get the flyback to stop whining, but what's odd is it only does it when the board is positioned a certain way. I want to fix it but I don't know what else I can do, I don't want to just replacet the entire flyback.

Does this set have comparable internals to the KV-35S42?? I am going to be attempting servicing soon, and I can barely find any guides or information on it. Sad I missed this live!
I have that set. Sat in a grandmas basement since the 90's, low hours. Got it home and fired it up and it was beautiful up until about ten minutes in. Some screen folding issues began and shifted horizontal image. Indicative of capacitor failure.
@@CozyCathodes Mine was actually in someone's grandma's basement as well haha. Picked it up on Facebook Marketplace. Dude was only charging $50 for it!! Thankfully, there are no apparent capacitor issues with mine.
I have a kv-27v35 i wanted to know what are the advantages of a recap? It has a slightly dim tube and i wanted to rgb mod it where can i get that kit? Do i have to buy it online or make it? Im just so confused theres not much info out there i would really appreciate the help i’m a big fan of
