    Adam was everyones farther, he committed sin which we are still under today, so all this talk of Ezekiel 18:20, Deuteronomy 24:16 is wrong we are still dying because of the sin our farthers committed even if we are resurrected, we still are paying for our farthers debts.. Ie if your farther owed money and someone came and took it from you at a time not convenient or with violence or malice, but then gave it back at a later date would you be pleased.
    (I'm think of myself as Christian but wrangle with these questions as I believe it's important not just to blindy follow the herd)

    Couldn’t disagree more. Adam sinned, we all die. God can “visit” someone with mercy in other words and calls a woman that is barren to become with child. Ergo he can visit The iniquity of the fathers onto the children to the third and fourth generations. Also Deuteronomy 24 verse 16 has nothing to do with what God can do that’s corporeal punishment between humans as we find in second Chronicles 25.

And they did David's lust baby have to die because David couldn't keep it in his robes because he feel in lust with soldier Uriah wife after he pretty much put Uriah to death out in the desert so that David could have Uriah wife. So don't tell me that children don't pay for the price of their parents sins.

      By having faith. Ultimately, we are held accountable by all the things we've done wrong according to the law. That's why it's called the Judgment. Of course, because of Jesus Christ we are free from the curse of disobeying the law (*death*) and if we have faith we will be forgiven. However, this faith has to be sincere and truly repentance - there is no forgiveness without restitution! We must follow the law of God (ALL the law as best as we can, I recommend searching up 'The 613 Commandments by Messianic Torah Observant Israel' but you should look at the Bible itself) in order to prove we are truly sorry. Does this mean you are saved by how many things you do according to the law? No, for only faith is the signature needed to be a child of God. But should we obey? Absolutely. Be blessed, shalom!

    0:30 "visits" means take a count of? No, no, no, Sean. You do not realize how sin adversely effects the genetic code and that parents pass on mutated genes in their chromosomes.
    You're preaching from a lack of knowledge and merely placing an interpretation to line up with your belief. Eisegesis.
    1:04 wrong. You confused the punishment from men versus the consequences of parental sin. God instructed mankind to not kill a son as a result of his father's sin. However, consequences of a father's sin may result in a baby dying. Two different things. Look at David's and Bathsheba's son. He died as a result of their adultery.

      @@Jesus_is_Lord-
      The Bible repeatedly teaches a cause and effect. When we sin, it may result in errors in our genetic code. Those erros may be passed on.
      Never blame God for mankind's own sins and transgressions and the consequences.
      If a good submarine crashes because of captain's error, you don't blame the manufacture.
      In fact, even after the captain crashes the submarine and dies. No manufacturer can revive them, but God can and does.
      People want to blame God for something He didn't do, but won't give God the credit for something He does.
      Summary:
      Sin is always earned ( called a wage), it is never gifted. Each is judged according to their own deeds.
      Salvation is always a gift and cannot be earned. God offers the free gift of salvation from your sins based on the price He paid on the cross to purchase us from the slavery to our sins.

    God does not punish! We are not punished for our sins, we are punished by our sins; we suffer the consequences of our own actions. That is the only "punishment" meted out by God.

    • @edgarmorales4476
      @edgarmorales4476 Před 2 lety

      @Sal Santiago
      Punishment is actually not a very effective teacher! It may teach people not to do something, but at a great cost to their spiritual progress and ability to Love themselves, to Love life and to Love others; which is the ultimate lesson.
      Those who receive punishment are full of shame, anger and resentment; and this is a hell they must learn to release themselves from.
      Because punishment leads to further sinful entrenchment and misery, it's ultimately counterproductive to spiritual progress.
      Punishment is man's way to remedy crimes and mistakes! And humankind has yet to recognize its ineffectiveness.
      Punishment perpetuates pain and negativity, and does nothing to heal it.
      All crimes, mistakes and suffering are caused by our "sinful nature."
      So the solution is not to entrench people further into their sin by punishing them, but to give them what might help them see that they are not sinners.
      Love is what heals and brings people out of their "sinful nature," and nothing else.
      Love, acceptance, kindness, compassion and attention; these are the balms that heal.

      You must understand that everything Jesus taught was in direct conflict and opposition to what religious authorities taught - which was why religious authorities hated and crucified Jesus - since Jesus was robbing religious authorities of their exalted positions as "personal henchmen" of the "Almighty".
      What I am saying is that the Bible has been cherry picked many times by religious authorities - they just don't admit it - that's all.
      If religious authorities did admit in cherry picking the Bible - then that would mean the end of their religion - which gives them comfort and security.
      You see - religious authorities will do anything to guard their own individuality and their religious beliefs - that they will reject those whom God sends - all because God's TRUTH doesn't match up with theirs.
      That is why Jesus had to expose religious authorities - because they do more damge than healing.

    Way to try to talk around the plain meaning. "for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents..." (Ex 20:5a, NRSV).
    The simpler explanation is that the Bible was written and edited by men, over many years, and not divinely inspired. The fact that you can find other passages contradictions this doesn't make this one mean anything different; it just means there's a contraction. Not all of its purported morals are good.

    • @afroddy
      @afroddy Před 4 lety +2

      We shouldn't take the things we like from the Bible and use it to support our own means. If this was really true, then we can't trust the Bible at all. But if we allowed the Bible to speak for it self and at least call the Tanakh (Old Testament) and Protestant New Testament to be true (Not a Protestant or a Catholic), then we run into much much less strife. We've got to approach this in prayer and even fasting, we can just deny one part and accept another because "we like it".

    And what about the several direct cases of God's wrath on kids, the most famous being the death of Egypt's firstborns because of the Pharaoh's actions? Or the slaughter of the Amorites, children included, acted because of the sins accumulated in four generations (Genesis 15:16).
    I find the video quite weak: to try to justify God's action as moral accordingly to modern human values is vanity and search for views and subscribers. I find much more powerful the apologetic answer of John Piper: God is above good and bad, and if he were to slaughter me today there would not be anything morally wrong with it. My life is only temporary in any case, I will be judged justly. The children of Egypt were not punished by being killed.
