- I got a box of kits and other modules in the mail from a nifty little Canadian company called Universal Solder.
Today I'm gonna do a quick unboxing and look at everything, then a closer look at a couple of the modules.
Which kit do you want to see me build first? Let me know in the comments.

This isn't the only way to do it.
It's probably not the best way to do it.
But it's how I did it. - Věda a technologie
Of course we want to see you build all of them ! One each month ;)
Love this company. Their lil WWVB receiver board works quite well even in this Man Faraday Cave.
I’ve had good luck with Universal Solder. Great, reliable company with great products.
Lucky devil!. I wouldve guessed pd support ic. Cool implementation. I hope this giy gets rich. He deserves it.
I love Universal Solder, really nice company.
This video is a good example of why im trying to encourage my sons into learning electronics. I want to do kit build with them but they are not interested as of yet.
I used to be fond of 'old peculiar' found in the UK, quite a tasty wee sip 👍
Theakston Old Peculier
@@stuartajc8141 the very same 👌
you lucky SOB! whilst i'm grateful to the donator helping with the good vids and showing warmth and sharing and passing forward good intentions..... i am one mighty jealous person! i can't even find decent kits that are not shite quality.. but you, you jammy thing, get them sent to you.
Now you know where to order from. I’ve had great experience with them - a bit more expensive than ordering from China but worth it for the fast shipping and good customer service.
I love those guys, I must have at least 5 boxes of goodies I haven't organized yet. They have excellent and frequent sales too :)
The stereo amplifier looks like fun.
I'm looking forward to more kit builds on your channel 👍
I plan to order a few of their kits now thanks to you! Cheers
The permanent protoboards look real nice.
The guys f4om universal solder are great. Ive dealt with them on amazon a few times. Great custom learning kits kent. If i ever do anything eith my channel im going to see if the guys want to be on a podcast. They do great work. I hope they sent you the test kit you have to troubleshoot hahaha
Love Universal Solder - great stuff
I do like the 12 volt option on the one.
I know. Super handy option to have available.
Might be commercially viable to manufacture a whole plastic breadboard with 12V USB-C on the top, down regulated to 5V/3.3V on the rails. Power related jumps on the left side, smooth and clean on top.
I have been buying from them for years while I was sad when they moved to Ontario, I understand why ultimately they had to make the decision.
That looks to be a great seller and packages are in good shape. I would like to see burglar alarm first.
I like Those protyping boards, the white ones, I use them. Universal Solder has some really good sales on at times. I'm not affiliated.
Guess it’s time to put an order in with Universal Solder again. Damn, Kent - every time you get free stuff, it costs me money😅
great prices on those kits!
I noticed that you forgot to introduce the beer. I didn’t want to say anything though I kind of just did. Thanks for the great videos. Please keep making them.
Sometimes I change things just to see if anyone notices (or cares).
Nice haul. I have no preference for which one you do first. I ordered the clock kit yesterday and plan on completing it soon. I'm hoping it should be easy to hack on a proximity sensor so I can just put my hand over the sensor and have the clock illuminate, I otherwise want it off at night because I find clocks distracting when I try to sleep. The LEDs are bi-colour red/green when you provide either a high or low signal. I'd like to have the red in the dark and green when the photo sensor is detecting light. Take care.
Given that the clock runs on a Nano, that shouldn't be much harder than a bit of code.
Assuming there are any GPIO pins spare, of course...
The LEDs are dual red/green in APD (anti-parallel diodes) connection. The color switches when the polarity switches. Since you can't switch the polarity in the circuit, you need to make your decision about the color when you assemble the LEDs.
@@canaduino Thanks
It must have a qc handshake ic. Cool jig. Im gonna send you some custom guitar pedal kits im designing kent if you want a few. I ordered a ton of new old stock from ussr. Germanium transistor and diodes, along with a cool custom case for each and you can daisy chain them. I dont use pedals and im making like 15 of them haha.
That would be cool!
I'll have to rope my kid into service to help demonstrate them after I build them!
What a lovely bunch of kits! I like the relay shield. Are those relays opto-isolated, and do they have any flyback diodes for inductive loads?
We'll find out when I build the kit.
Based on previous kits of his that I built in the past, I expect they will be properly designed and well protected.
mind the gap is a famous phrase used on the londen underground (trian/metro). so it's not nesecerly car related
Yeah, nice score man.
Just went to the web page to ask if they ship to Australia. They want a full account set up just so I can ask a question.
That seems to be common with a lot of companies these days.
They also sell some of their products on ebay: pileofstuff.ca/r/j3fgd
And Amazon: www.amazon.com/s?k=CANADUINO
I don't know how you are blackening parts of the shipping labels but it looks like a little heat. A heat gun will blacken the whole thing very quickly. I use one when reshipping just to make sure the various bar codes and labels to not confuse machinery somewhere.
Yup, I use my heat gun. Takes no time to do.
do the audio amp
Was there a high pitched whine on the audio ??
I didn't notice one, but my ears ain't what they used to be...
@@pileofstuff Probably my tinnitus then lol, sorry.
