Diggin’ basements is dirty work.... getting them exactly right is Dirt Perfect work.
Totin’ the dirt over the far hill is a great way for NYA Millennial to learn how to be well above average! And, MBTS to steal a scene or two!
Mikey... you and the crew done fine work!!!
Designing an ICF house now and was wishing you had a whole house series and now you do!
Yup have this one and one more coming
Great job Mike, Matt & Aaron. 👌👍👊
Thanks jay
i had no idea i could be entertained by a group of guys moving dirt its become one of my favorites to watch and you have a rock-solid crew that would have your back in any situation I look forward to every video you put up thanks
Thanks buddy
@@DirtPerfect i got a slang word for those who work in the dirt and mud muckadee mucks
What you should have done is .....Oh Wait! You are DP "Dirt Perfect" ROCKING it With the Equipment you relie on to Make a living and feed your Family. Good Job. Thank you for the vide DP!
Aaron and I have something in common. We both have a little extra insulation around the middle. You were right thats a right deep basement.
You make playing in the dirt enjoyable, never a dull moment, your crew looks like they are having fun too. Thank you
Maybe rented a track loader?
Looks like you two are doing your best, with the tools at hand.
Nice job on punching out basement. Sort of an uneven match between excavator and dozer. Work with what you have. The tables could have been turned Arron could have been on D8.
That was a big cut. You guys kicked it, especially considering you had to push all of it and had some bad weather to boot. Not bad at all. MBTS's seemed to find his groove fairly quick too.
Love the flyover, start-to-finish, and the excavation plan on this one! Very few basement X videos on YT and most only give one little slice of the job. Viewers don't get to see the full picture. You're #1 for basement excavation videos!
Thank you,
Even if I don't get out anymore I still like to watch a home come together .
I can smell all that fresh soil still. Always interested in new ways to do old things

Nice to see a basement that will have a decent height and not be way above grade. Awesome work by your whole team. Sure enjoy the vids, education and to see fella having a good time while working and doing a great job.
Not many houses in Texas have basements, Just crawl spaces or a single car garage.
Coming from East Tennessee most every house had a basement. I would love to have a basement. My current house if dug out to street level, I think a full standup basement could be achieved. The 3 houses North of me are higher than mine and they drag bumpers going in and out in anything less than a truck.
You should have pushed with the 140 too. Maybe blade to blade lol. Good job guys.
Looking forward to seeing the next video 👍
Looking good. Gonna be a nice series. Take care and have a blessed week
Matt Aaron You both got some valuable seat time. If you dont do it you can't get good at it Great job by all Thanks for sharing 👍
Nice work on the foundation dig you guys are awesome🚜🚧👷
You guys do great work as always and I really like your music selection .
Thanks
Great Video! Stay Safe Guys!
Your music for this video rocked😍
Thanks
Glad you and the Volvo are gelling on some items.
That's a lot of dirt you moved in a few days especially when you had to doze it such a distance ! Nice job !!
I don’t what it miss a second of this doing it the you would do it. Love the way you explain tings. Some of the things you take about I never even knew had to be done.
Thanks
This project will be a good one!! Look forward to watching them all!!!
Good morning Dirth Perfect and the crew, fellow viewers and subscribers. Greetings from Jamaica 🇯🇲. See u off to a good start for the year, as you said sometimes now , lot of projects on the books this year . 👍👍
Thanks buddy
@@DirtPerfect Welcome . Just enjoying the race with the excavator and the dozer
Really like how you use the drone to show the in-progress
Thanks
I’m a huge fan of your shop videos but it’s nice to see you guys playing in the dirt again. 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks buddy
From the look of this and others you have done I think this is how I’d like to have a home built if I ever did
I have run an excavator a total of 4 times in my 59 years.. Having an appreciation of the skill it takes to do this and watching you effortlessly swing that bucket is very satisfying indeed! It almost makes me want to jump on my future septic tank replacement project.. Almost..;)
Thanks Frank
Interesting opperational video. Seems to be beneficial to get a machine mounted receiver for your laser.
Cover that very well in a upcoming video
excellent vid, I really enjoyed you laying out the thought process regarding hauling the 850 in. sometimes bigger is NOT the most efficient.
with that being said, if you knew then what you know now, would you have chosen to incur the transport fees (I ask this NOT knowing what those fees would be) and let MBTS run the 850? in all honesty I THINK you would have kept up with him and avoided needing the skidsteer. but those fees may offset any gains.
you explaining this type of stuff is a huge (to me) bonus in your vids. not just the work but the thought processes behind it. well done guys.
Like you said the Dozer has a good bit to travel to push it! Give them a break!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol
Hey Mike, have you thought about a boom mount for your laser. They're not 100% but it saves you jumping in the hole to check grade. It would help you put some more pressure on that dozer.
Stay tuned
Another awesome video . That is going to be an amazing view from that house .
Damn easy on Matt, I think we are taking "perfect" to another level.
Looking good
That dirt borders on digging rock. That's a lot of dirt to move. Looking forward to the wall build.
I have been waiting to see this job, a loader would have been great to move all that dirt , great job fellas 👍😎
It looks good.
Good high spot..Ought to drain well..😎
Great video, that’s one big hole. Aaron is looking pretty good on the machines, Matt is coming along pretty good also. Thanks for sharing. Kevin
Thank you Kevin
WOW great job on that one
As an old dozer operator your erratic step down green arrow describing slot
dozing technique did not evade my "What ?" nor my "Where did the slot go !"
You where correct, time for a review.
That's a big & deep basement! Good video.
Now that appears to be a proper tornado resistant house
Excellent job Mike that was a lot of dirt
Matt and Arron done dam great 👍
Thank you Donald
Really looking forward to seeing the big project. Concrete to the rafters, baby!
I do believe you got it figured out. The Volvo for mass digging and the 120 for everything else. That 120 is a do everything machine.
Yup
Keep up the good work, every new skill you can learn is always a plus.
Good job Mike. I like to hear you Talk nice about the volvo .
Sometimes if you make a small path for the dozer to back around the pile of dirt from the basement you can increase your run time. That way you don't have to back over a pile of dirt then start pushing again. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the great video Mike!
Thanks
You guys put in a long hard day. Thanks for sharing!!
That's a deep basement good job
Nice work on the dirt work and also the filming!
I really like the drone footage. That's a lot more dirt than you'd think of moving to dig a basement. Can't wait to see the ICF installation.
Thanks
Love the Devo intro music. LOL
Time to purchase a new dozer the same size to have 2 that are easily transported and to also help with production on jobs. Time is money
Nice!! Most basements here are 7-9 ft excavations on flat ground, even our slab on grade👍a lot more frost here in Canada 🇨🇦
Loved that video DP
Can’t wait to see the footers and ICF videos👍
One for the Captain...😎
That is a LOT of ICF!! Stacking it will be very interesting.
Love how u boy always manage to get by ..run what u brung lol that's my entire mentality..peace n love from Cumbria uk
I like your explanation/logistics of dirt removal/digs & fills. Can you explain how you layout your building footprints. When you compact fill what standard do you comply with? Can you explain how you calculate your top of footing from finish floor? Can you explain how you quote/bid some of your projects?
Also as a suggestion for general info, consider a manufacturer tour of any equipment & or products you use!!!
Looks like most of your work is residential!! Do you do any Commercial work?
Not trying to compete, just an interested retired Architect. I’ve worked with a lot of civil engineers with grading plans & 90% of them have been off + & - . How do you deal with that?
Yes and thanks
That’s a lot of dirt! I dug one about like that last year with my mini, 36” bucket and single axle dump truck by myself. It took a few days!
Nice !!!
Anyone else glad the trailer project is done? Just kidding mike They were great videos. keep up the great work.
Thanks
I was thinking at the beginning in the Volvo, the glass look so clean ! 10 second later, DP ' cap'tain kleeman serviced the Volvo...' ok, got it... 😂😂😂😁😁
i was going build myself new get away cabin 24x32 house
,,but dam material cost has jump up so much last 2 months i think am going wait in till at less lumber price get back to normal == this Fall ..maybe ..Remember i tell about all Lumber ''Mills'' burn to ground last years ? wasn't only thing ,across board all material cost up 15% ,, think we going hit again in Cooper-zinc and concrete next month
Mike You just needed to "borrow" that baby dozer at the bottom of the hill. LOL You would have had to dig faster then. I feel for you when you hit rock layers that are not running like you need them too. Luckily it was soft rock. Here we have mostly hard limestone. So it is either blast or grind if you need to go deeper.
My son's house was supposed to be two foot lower in the ground. We hit a layer of flat limestone. It was cheaper to just bring in back fill around the house rather than try to dig deeper. The funny thing is that limestone layer was within two inches of being perfectly flat.
I love to see a hard working crew having fun , your a good boss, waiting for the next one , I rang the bell, See Ya.
Thanks
Does that dozer have 2 speeds! I think you are correct with your dozer assessment. The small blade pushing a long distance would be a struggle to start but as you move closer to the hill the push becomes shorter. Jerry would have worked but the experience that was gained by Matt and Aaron working the dozer is way more beneficial to you for the future. The best experience is the one gained by actually doing the work.
Hydro and yes
You really need Lt. Dan on this job!
Would not use it here
wow! Found a rich person in Ky? That is unusual. Specially for out in the country. Going to be fun to watch the progress on a basement to rafters build.
Good trade out
That doze does have a heater, it's called the exhaust pipe. I don't think MBTS needs a heater, he's swelled up with hot air.😂😂 Matt's learning on the doze, at least he hasn't drove it off in the hole.😂😂Great job guys.
😂😂😂😂 rounds a shape too 😆😆
@@aaronbummmanbehindthescene4931 round is my favorite shape. I have a figure to maintain and an image to uphold.😂😂😂
im so excited!
I don't do any of this but man do I learn a lot.
Lol thanks
12:00 Love the instrumental music!!
Thanks
Man you have no ideal how bad I'd love to be around when you dig up on hills around the river. Just to look through the dirt for arrowheads LOL
...playin' in the dirt is always fun...lol...good one stay safe...
Great video Mike, Aaron and Millennial ! 28:30 Too bad the ICF didn't show up 2 days later and get stacked closer to the hole. Looking forward to the rest of this build.
Thanks buddy
👍😄🇳🇱
this is the workplace where in a previous video you and Aaron bring everything around with the Mack before the lowboy went into the workplace, right?
where Aaron gave you points for backing up with the Mack / lowboy and commenting that you weren't driving over the gravel with the tires right?
Thanks for the video Mike
Yes
It would be interesting to see how many buckets or yards per hour the skid steer can move compared to the D4G. The skid steer moves much faster but moves less dirt. I bet the dozer is a better producer for the hourly cost to operate. Looks like an interesting job. They just finished a 30 plus foot tall ICF church building around the corner from my place. I bet the polystyrene walls make for good acoustics with the right type of sheetrock..
You should set up a skills test on the dozer for Aron and Matt, and have jerry determine who is best.
Cool idea
@@DirtPerfect Aaron would win
I'm happy you finally give klemen a compliment for a change, i know you all dig in each other alot but sometimes you come off a bit of an ass they way you talk about your employees! Just a reminder if how you can be perceived by so many whom like me enjoy your channel and the good hearted comedies! If you can't laugh And have fun while working your not in your dream job!
Man ! you haven’t spent much time with working men have you ?
@@CrimeVid No kidding! What a society we have become :p
Ive spent my whole life with working men so don't judge me fella till you know me, but you don't have to beat a horse to death! If he wasn't working things wouldn't get scratched and dented! Sure klemen has a little dark cloud that follows him but he really trys and is just getting more belittling than he deserves!
Mike have you considered doing a blooper video ? I'm sure there's lots of hilarious outtakes from your videos we dont see. Maybe 1 a month or so 🤷♂️. Just an idea......Thanks for the wonderful content as always. 👍
Thanks and always post the bloopers at the end of the video If I have them
I think what you have there is fine. In a perfect world a bigger dozer would be better, but like you said by the time you jump out check grade and social media he is caught right back up. 2 man crew staying efficient.
Great teamwork guys.
Nice thing is there are no offsets to deal with when i was helping doing basements i loved the ones with straight runs
Yes sir
🔥🔥🔥 DEFINITELY KILLED IT ON THIS JOB MY BROTHER 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks buddy
Good job CK...
I've been waiting for this.
Love the mix of drone and ground-level shots. Is the gravel road for the construction only or is it the location of the driveway too? Can't wait to see MBTS putting the sheep's foot to work. Any call for it on this job? Just imagine if Lt. Dan were ready to go.
Thanks and only for construction
Two thumbs up on the drone shot and explanation. Add in no boulders and little rain .....Is it cost effective for a bigger dozer...versus a slower grading ...thats the 64,000 question?? solution: plan on Jerry on next big project.
Thanks
Great video, love watching.
Thanks
MBTS needs to sit closer to the exhaust for heat. I notice your GoPro fogs out Arron's face is that on purpose: :)
This one will be fun! Wondering why the dozer don’t have a heater? Even if it is open, could have some hot air blowing on your feet.
Woot!
A whole lot of hole there !!!!
Always play to your advantage, right plant for the right job.
Matt and Aaron did well with the D4, you can tell hydraulic oil runs through your veins 😂
Aaron, how did you manage not to freeze up there, did you drink some anti freeze???? 🤔😂😂
