    Link Devotee is meant to be used with Link Disciple. You get a draw and two tokens for nothing. If you run Cyberse Rituals you then make Cyberse Witch with Disciple and a token, and then turn a token into a Linkuriboh, which triggers Witch's search effect to get a cyberse ritual card and cyberse ritual monster from your deck.

  • @mageside

    7:47 I still hated how they didn't buff Vorticular Drumgon.
    Specifically I hated they left that stupid "can't use these zones" restriction its draw effect has. It was on the card in the anime but Revolver literally did not mentioned that AT ALL when he used its draw effect. Why the hell did they leave that stupid restriction on there? It was not brought up at all in the anime.
    Theres nothing broken with DRAWING ONE FREAKING CARD. Specifically with how its a HOPT and it needs exactly 3 dark dragons to summon it(as in you can't link climb into it). Should have at least buff the summoning condition to "2+ dark dragons".
    I know I am making a too big of a deal for a random dragon Revolver used but I am just frustrated with it since I want to use it in a dragon deck, just for fun/shenanigans.
    And Drumgon is basically my prime example of anime cards that should have been buffed when printed but didn't get a buff (or worse, is stuck with a dumb restriction instead).
    Its not really comfortable in using it now due to that "can't use these zones" restriction and the fact it needs exactly 3 dark dragons.

    Link Devotee combos with Talkback Lancer in Cyberse Code Talker for rebuilding a destroyed board.
    If you have 2 appropriate Cyberse-type monsters (example: Clock Wyvern and its Token), you can drop Talkback Lancer and Link Devotee at the same time, sack Devotee to revive Transcode Talker, put the Tokens where they won't get in the way, revive something good with Transcode that has a Right Link Arrow (Binary Sorceress, Proxy Dragon, etc.), then Link 2 with the Tokens for something like Flame Administrator, Restoration Point Guard, or Link Bumper depending on your strategy and the situation.
    In the Clock Dragon OTK build, you could even use Devotee's Tokens to make Clock Spartoi (in combination with Lancer and something like Linkuriboh if you need to recover Clock Wyvern from the GY), search Cynet Fusion, and cash in your board of small-to-midsize Links for a potentially game-winning attack.

    Link Devotee is nowhere near top 10 worst material. I can think of plenty of monsters that deserved a spot on this list more than that card. The combo with Link Disciple allows you to go into powerful lockdowns like the Honeybot Lockdown or the Quantum Wizard Lockdown (this one's really nasty, no attacking, no targeting with potential for immunity to destruction by effect as well).

  • @autobotstarscream765
    @autobotstarscream765 Před 5 lety

    A card that can be destroyed has a "search next turn" Effect...no wonder Fur Hires went to Duel Links so soon, you'd need something like Malefic Stardust to keep a Field Spell like that around long enough to do anything in the TCG... :'D

  • @monkeykingw
    @monkeykingw Před 5 lety +1

    So Link Devotee is even worse than you let on.
    If you only needed to tribute it to summon those tokens, that'd be fine and dandy. Not worth the restriction of preventing Link 3 or higher, but it'd still only be run of the mill bad.
    But Link Devotee needs to be Co-Linked to get that effect. That's just obnoxious.

  • @Goblin_Hands
    @Goblin_Hands Před 5 lety

    Gabrion is actually more useful against decks that tend to have multiple spells/traps and multiple monsters (ideally Extra deck monsters). With Time Maiden, having it as an option is great, because not having it means you'd have to choose bouncing monsters back to hand (sometimes worthless against Trickstars, etc anyways), or shuffling back S/T, which might not do much.
    I used to think Raphion was useless because most players would sit on weak monsters most the time, but if you throw it in a Kaiju deck, you'll have a consistent -3300 damage each turn, which is basically the best burn, as Sandaion (-2000, 4000 body) isn't searchable, and Michion (halving the opponent's life points) is worthless after turn 2/if they pay LP for anything.
    Pair Timelords with Mound of the Bound Creator, and many decks might shit themselves. (and throw in Sky Strikers for extra pokes/consistency)

  • @Zobi_YT
    @Zobi_YT Před 5 lety +3

    I think I get the idea Rage with Eyes of Blue was going for. Because it's a quickplay I think the intended use is just a really ballsy way to get the last bit of damage you need on board during the battle phase to secure game (all your monsters have attacked so who needs em anymore all you need is this last punch from a Blue-Eyes to seal the deal). The only issue is the restriction. If it was a for the rest of the turn summon restriction then sure you could use it viably. But no it's a during this turn summon restriction so you'd have it dead in your hand until the turn after you've built your board which is just too slow for the game now. I wouldn't call it one of the worst cards of this year (I mean you can technically end games with it) but it sure looks that way on paper.

    • @definalc6555
      @definalc6555 Před 5 lety +1

      The problem with that is a decent Blue eyes board is probably going to get at least 2, probably all 3 BEWD anywhere but the deck, so resolving this in a meaningful way requires getting them back into the deck before activation which, while possible, is really dumb.

    • @Zobi_YT
      @Zobi_YT Před 5 lety

      @@definalc6555 Yeah it is pretty dumb but even just summoning 1 last Blue-Eyes during the battle phase can be all you need to secure game. It's highly improbable and counter intuitive to the deck's playstyle but a extra 3k is still an extra 3k. But yeah if you've cycled through all three the card is super dead so it's still not a good card just not a shockingly bad card in my books. Just imagine the hype of gaming someone with this card though the opponent would think you're absolutely crazy. It's maximum style points to be honest.

    I think Vorticular Drumgon is meant to be Link Climbing Material in a specific Deck, one that can first make it, then uses revival cards such as REDMD and Hibernation Dragon to revive Vorticular once per turn, getting a Draw and a 2-Material Link 4 every turn, such as (BANNED), Topologic Bomber and Gumblar, Gryphon, Ambrowhale, and REDMD's own Link retrain Darkness Metal, the Dark Steel Dragon (whose existence leads me to make this theory).

    @ShuraEssays Před 5 lety

    Link Devotee is actually good in Cyberse like I've been playing it for months and not for lack of options. There is a link one with the same summoning condition and a downward pointing arrow that lets you tribute one monster it points to to draw 1 and place a card from your hand on the bottom of your deck. Helps you put back your garnets on the road to making the tutors for said garnets. Especially useful for Cyberse Clock Dragon Turbo because it turns Clock Wyvern into a one card 5500 attack fusion. That's one card. More can be used.

    I read the Timelord's card effect wrong, and thought you got to draw the cards, and thought it was completely busted... That actual effect is some real garbage.
    I never thought about how easy it was to just avoid Centerfrog's effect by placing your monsters differently... I mostly play the games where placement is completely automatic.
    The Blue-Eyes field spell does not search anything but Burst Stream of Destruction; it gives you an extra Normal Summon for level 1 Light Tuners (which is every "Eyes of Blue" monster), but it does not even mention the Blue Eyes or Eyes of Blue archetypes by name. It does let you search "Burst Stream of Destruction", a support card specifically for Blue-Eyes White Dragon though.
    I love all of your comboes that you think up on the fly that end up being terrible... They're always kind of funny.

    Vorticular Drumgon is a niche card as well, I only summon it in Rokkets if I have 4 monsters on board, summon that for a free draw, then go into Topologic Bomber Dragon. Again very niche but I like it. Also because it's the child of a Charizard and a Blastoise😂

    Link disciple is used to tribute to link devotee and draw a card and summon 2 tokens which can be combod. LINK DISCIPLE AND THIS CARD IS BROKEN. it is not used to link climb but its used for even a way better cause

  • @stalectos
    @stalectos Před 5 lety

    unless i am misinterpreting its effect gabrion seems like it would combo pretty well with heavy slump. not the best or most consistent combo but if you could pull it off would be quite devastating at a -6 or more for your opponent and a clear board.

  • @JasSpy
    @JasSpy Před 5 lety

    I would have put Tindangle Intruder one the list instead of Furtress, and Trancefamiliar at number 1 instead of Egg, but it's his list. Also, Trading Places could be used to make multiple Utopia monsters live. That's a detriment of course. And I think it's a cotton plant that resembles a sheep, or maybe the other way around. And just use Wattkinetic Puppeteer instead of Tranceshitter. It's a hand trap that does what Dave suggested.

    Why does Yusei have 2 really shitty "summon this shitty monster when something overly specific happens" traps? One for Sonic Chick, and one for Speed Warrior that only summons him when the card hits the grave (you can't even activate it).

  • @andresl2596

    Dave you use Link Disciple to tribute Link Devotee, Draw a card and get the tokens. That's the "combo"

  • @Balkanfreak97

    Link Devotee - I use it for cyberse clock Dragon output, with link desiple and clock wyvern (and a bunch of link 2) you ca buff Clock to some very high numbers + leave honeybot pointing to him (its not the most consistent, but when the darn thing works, it's pretty cool)

    Cyberse has about a million monsters in the tcg or still in ocg land...it’s reasonable to believe that the type does something, I think it has to do with link spamming, but badly. (Some cards have come out that look like they could be good). Yusei has some of the synchrons, all of his early duels are of him summoning a bunch of small monsters to make kink warrior or another warrior synchro, before he gets back stardust dragon
