That's one awesome captain!! He can fly the most dangerous approach (for commercial aircraft) in the world and still be explaining it to the camera man :D Very professional! And his touchdown was pretty smooth too!
The captain of this video was at my flight training center a few months ago. I did not know his airline (DRUK AIR) very well, he told me they land at very dangerous airport. So I tried it myself in the simulator where I work as a duty engineer. I crashed in the approach 10Km back at my first try, as I did not know where the airport was. I made a wrong turn and could not outclimb the mountain. After finding the airport on my second attempt, I crashed on landing due to my approach was too tight when I turned in too late after seeing the runway. Success at 3rd try. This airport can only be landed in daylight with good weather with VFR. As you have to fly between mountains, an instrument approach is not possible. Thanks for sharing this vid.
