At 2:17, the letters mean the following: - NP stands for "Nitropulver", smokeless powder. - V is the testing facility: "V" is Vienna, "F" would be Ferlach. - AOH is the date of testing: A is December, O is zero, H is 6, so it was tested in December 2006.
Can't thank you enough for taking the time to video all your shooting, advice, and stories about Glocks (and other firearms). I love watching you shoot and value your opinions.
Love how different the sound is in these old videos- obviously the sound and production quality has gone up, as Hickok and big John are true professionals of their craft. But these videos are super cool… took place in a better time, a more relaxed and happy time. In October 2009 I had just started 10th grade and had just gotten together with my first “real serious” girlfriend. Good, good memories from a good, good time in life. Thanks for showing off the excellent G19 and taking me back to some great memories. Super cool
Love it. After alot of research this one is the one I've been saving up for. About 3/4 there already. It will be my first handgun and possible ccw but definently home defense. Thanks to hickok45 and Nutnfancy. Thanks again....
thanks for another G19 video hickok! I just put a down payment on my first G19 yesterday and look forward to shooting it. It just feels great in my hand like it was designed for it, never fired one yet but looks like real smooth action with almost no recoil. Its a great size for CCW as well.
Santa came early this year Hickok! Picked up a Glock 19C from Buds in Lexington today. Thanks for youR insight and videos showing what these guns are capable of. Your interest, devotion, and love of firearms help us all immensely. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE AT THE COMPOUND!
LOVE your videos iv seen a lot of them today i picked up a g-19 i did have a 17 but found it to be a little big for CCW thats why i got the 19 (nice feel) keep up the cool videos...
@hickok45 - my personal favorite Glock, and 9mm overall. Can't say enough about how well mine has served me on the range and as a daily carry gun. I'd have to estimate I'm up to about 8000 rounds through it, and nary a jam. Good to hear some info about the proof marks on the Austrian models. Great videos, keep it up!
rly nice vid, I am from Austria (Vienna) and just for your information "Glock Gesmbh" has the meaning of "Glock ltd", it is the abbreviation for "gesellschaft mit beschränkter haftung" -> company with limited liability :) Keep on the good work with the vids greets
Great Video. The first gun I have ever shot was a Glock 19 last week. Very very smooth accurate pistol. Minimal recoil and perfect fit for my hand size. I didnt like how the 26 had my pinky hanging off, and this 17 was pretty large. 19 was perfect. Gonna make a purchase for one really soon.
Firearms sold in CIP countries (Germany, France, Austria ...) must be individually proofed at a CIP prood house. Each member state hase one or multiple proof houses. Proofing is done by shooting overpressure (+30%) proofing cartridges. Each gun is then inspected. If it passes the test, tamps are added on various parts (barrel, slide, bolt, frame ...) depending on the type of firearm. The "NP" mark for example certifies the firearm is safe for smokeless powder ammo ...
Great video, funny enough down here all the Glock pistols sold at the fun shop are Austrian proofed. The rare one's are the ones that have the Smyrna markings. A friend has a Glock 17 with the Smyrna markings and he loves to show it off!
I live in Switzerland and I've got the same marks. If you want to use your Glock 19 in official Swiss competition shooting you also need the Swiss proof stamps. You have to send your gun in and they charge you an extra $80 to proof-shoot it.
From what i am hearing in the video, you have a good follow through, by holding the triggrer down for a tiny bit longer after you fired the shot, then you release it back then pull again for the next shot :D
I just picked up a Gen 2 Glock 17 today and it has the Austrian proof marks. The marks on my gen 2 are the same but in different locations. So does it really increase the value is my question. Any info on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
I bought a couple 19's last spring, mine have all the Austrian proof marks as well, But I don't think they are any better than one without the proof marks.
I can tell by your shooting that you aren't letting the trigger out all the way but up until the trigger resets.. I have been doing that a lot lately at the range and it appears to help a lot.
hickok could you do a video comparison of .40 and 9mm, specifically the 19 and 23? There is so much debate between those two calibers and I am in the process of choosing one.
Can someone please answer me this... My glock says made in Austria syrmna Georgia on the frame, and the barrel has an octagon on it but no proof marks.. so it was made and assembled in full in Austria and then shipped here?
greetings from the philippines!! id like to ask if my glock 22 is really from austria since i dont see a 'made in austria' on the frame?? is my frame made in the US and the slide made in austria? i bought it last year 2009 feb..
What is the difference between a Glock 17 and Glock 19? I have an old Glock 17, but I cannot see any difference between this two Glock models. They are both in 9mm Para, aren´t they? Do they have different dimensions or barrel length or what?
Do you carry with one in the chamber or with an empty chamber. The safety kind of scares me a bit, but this will be my next purchase once I catch my breath after just purchasing a Kimber Custom 2.
Yep, I was getting ready to "machine gun" it. Somebody's got to teach you how to flinch well! If one is going to flinch, he might as well see it demonstrated properly. :-)
__ I RECCOMEND every glock owner to by the after market slide release. __ the stock slide release is flush and flat which can be hard for some people to actuate.
Does Glock actually make guns in Smyrna Georgia? I thought their facility there was just for repair and distribution of parts and Austrian made guns.Oh, by the way , tell John he is one of the better camera-men on You-tube.Why don't you film John shooting sometime.I'm 64 today, but I can still out-shoot my 33 year old "boy".I just got my 10 year old grandson an S.R.22 , and it makes me very proud to see how carefully he handles his gun. Better than some adults I know.
I noticed there is a small click just before each round fires. Is that a feature of the trigger? It sounded like a pre-click just before the trigger broke. By the way, I haven't watched many of these close-up videos. I'm gonna start. :)

G19 - the G17 is a classic and was my first Glock, of course, back in the '80s; however, it's unnecessarily large to me now.

I really enjoy your videos and your calm instructional demeanor.
Love your videos man. As always, excellent shooting!
Just love you're videos. So informative.
You make the most fun videos. You really show how much fun it is to shoot guns of all kinds. Well done.
Love it. After alot of research this one is the one I've been saving up for. About 3/4 there already. It will be my first handgun and possible ccw but definently home defense. Thanks to hickok45 and Nutnfancy. Thanks again....
@parrothead2581 , Yes, just so happens that it does. I didn't notice that when I bought it.

I just got my first glock this weekend,gen4 19x9 pumped up to get some rounds down range.

Thanks again Hickok, love the vids and you sir, are a wicked shot.
How about a vid of your whole collection! - or where and how you store them all.

@pauldamedtech , Sure, any good ammo.
a great ccw selection.
wow. that's cool. I didn't know about the proof marks and I'm a glock fan. pretty cool thing to learn
Great videos, would love to see a review from you for the G31 or the G33
I find it funny that right after hickok says, "the NINE millimeter!" The video's pop up ad that says "the 9mm won't protect you" comes up.
I'm using a Galco Royal Guard these days.

good video.
I'm a mega 19 fan. Two of my gen 2's had Austrian proofs. If you decide to move this one down the road I want it!
Oops, you caught me; that's why all my Glocks shoot so well! :-)
@DaizyDroid , Special talents! Actually, my son does the recording.
From what i am hearing in the video, you have a good follow through, by holding the triggrer down for a tiny bit longer after you fired the shot, then you release it back then pull again for the next shot :D
good job a++
Could be, but as I say in the video, I don't think it's unusual enough to be considered that much of a collectible.
Can we buy these at our local gun shop? How widely available are they? (The Glocks with the Austrian markings.)
I WANT ONE!
Just got my 19 new in the box and it has the proof marks
I was lucky enough to buy one of these.
@hickok45 i have the same gun ! bought it 2 weeks ago ! love it i also bought a plug for mine to it completes the gun !
hahahah zombies. nice.
great video agian hickok
I just picked up a Gen 2 Glock 17 today and it has the Austrian proof marks. The marks on my gen 2 are the same but in different locations. So does it really increase the value is my question. Any info on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Just depends on where I am.
Does an Austrian proofed Glock and a US Glock have the same finishing process on the slide?
Yeah, I tend to do my plinking with FMJ and save the HPs for zombies and terrorists.
I bought a couple 19's last spring, mine have all the Austrian proof marks as well, But I don't think they are any better than one without the proof marks.

Another pumpkin bites the dust! Thanks for showing off the Glock 19. I've only fired the Glock 23 before, but I'd like to try this one.
No better or worse, just smaller. I'd call it more "size efficient."
hickok could you do a video comparison of .40 and 9mm, specifically the 19 and 23? There is so much debate between those two calibers and I am in the process of choosing one.
Than You.
it is the most popualer...here in canada this is the most higher selling side arm...nice vid
The 1911 is a historical classic but the Glock 19 is a modern day classic.
GmbH means its an incorporated company (abbreviation), the same as Inc.
what do you like beter a G17 or G19
as far as best overall fun shooter
2:50 the letters GmbH means Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung
in english its Limited liability company (LLC)
The Ges. mbH means "Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung". Its like a limited company in the UK or a LLC in US.
Can someone please answer me this... My glock says made in Austria syrmna Georgia on the frame, and the barrel has an octagon on it but no proof marks.. so it was made and assembled in full in Austria and then shipped here?
you must hate pumpkins! lol
greetings from the philippines!! id like to ask if my glock 22 is really from austria since i dont see a 'made in austria' on the frame?? is my frame made in the US and the slide made in austria? i bought it last year 2009 feb..
I just bought a glock 19 gen 2 I paid 150 for it. The barrel, has pitting on one land, is it safe to shoot or should I replace the barrel?
hey hickok, doesn't that gun fall under the same rules as the glock 25 .380 or the glock 28 .380 as far as importation goes with those proof marks??
@Hickok45. Do you ever change out your stock sights on your Glocks to Night sights?
they are VERY rare and u you are lucky to have one
What is the difference between a Glock 17 and Glock 19? I have an old Glock 17, but I cannot see any difference between this two Glock models.
They are both in 9mm Para, aren´t they? Do they have different dimensions or barrel length or what?
Austrian proofed Glocks are the same as any other Glock, just a bit rarer due to the Austrian proof marks.
"Glock - A fine piece of Tupperware and Steel". Amen
I was lucky enough to get one of those also
Is it alright to use +P ammo in a glock 19?
Where do you buy all your ammo from? Im looking for clean fire 45cal ammo. Made by Speer Lawman brand.
Wtf I just bought a Glock 19 with the Made Austria stamp but no Austria prof marks?? All matching Serial Numbers frame slide and be barrel help please
Is it safe to use hydrashock ammo in Glocks?
Is there a difference between the American and Austrian assembled Glocks?
I have a Gen 1 G17 with Austrian proof marks. How rare do you think it is?
Do you carry with one in the chamber or with an empty chamber. The safety kind of scares me a bit, but this will be my next purchase once I catch my breath after just purchasing a Kimber Custom 2.
Mine has proofmarks on top of the chamber, just like Hickock's, and it's as european as you and me are ;o)
Yep, I was getting ready to "machine gun" it. Somebody's got to teach you how to flinch well! If one is going to flinch, he might as well see it demonstrated properly. :-)
I saw that. I've done that as well in the same type scenario. Hearing a click when you were expecting a bang caused nervous flinch 😅
The 19 is a bit smaller all around the the 17. Check the Glock homepage for more specific details.
Greetings
I thought I heard you say it was beautiful.
FYI: Ges.m.b.H or GmbH means Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung = LLC -> Limited Liability Company
Hello Hickok 45 would you like to trade with my smith and Wesson 547 3 inch?
@kosmosleha glock IS an austrian company
lol the cartridge, 9x19mm
The Ges. m. b. H. just means that its a company.
its not all factory ! it has a grip frame plug in it !

Glock makes 42, and a few 19 in GA .
OMG sound effects lol
So with the proof marks, does that mean it could be a collectors gun?
How many 19's do you own?
am i the only one that thinks the proofs make this glock extra-attractive?
Saving the HPs for a rainy day, huh?
I noticed there is a small click just before each round fires. Is that a feature of the trigger? It sounded like a pre-click just before the trigger broke.
By the way, I haven't watched many of these close-up videos. I'm gonna start. :)
It is the trigger reset
Hickok why do you and other cover the serial numbers? what is there to be concerned about if the public sees it?
Do you ever get complain calls for gun shots at you're house?
LOL! I agree 110% on that one.
wheres the chamber indiacator
Will this fire safely underwater?
very rare u cant find them anywhere
(continued) Ges.m.b.H or GmbH is German for LLC, simply indicating the type of corporation Glock is.
@kyle87t i cant decide which on 1 i want either
