This is the NEW Balaton Park Circuit that F1 Might Race At!

- Today we look at the Brand New Balaton Park Circuit which has officially opened in Hungary. The circuit covers 4.115km and features 6 righthand corners with 10 lefthands corners, It also is listed as FIA Grade 1 meaning that it's a standard that would allow Formula 1 to race here, The circuit would most likely replace the Hungaroring if it were to join the F1 calendar but you might need to wait a while if that were to happen, As the Hungaroring is contracted to stay on the F1 calendar until at least 2027. The circuit is hoping to start hosting international racing in 2024 and with the facticity receiving £173 Million in investment and bringing 4 star hotels and a museum the future is for sure looking bright for this circuit. Enjoy!

It's certainly an improvement compared to most of the new tracks on the f1 calendar, but even though the Hungaroring isn't the best for racing, it's a tricky circuit with elevation change, which this new track is severely lacking, so I prefer the Hungaroring
This is without a doubt the best circuit "of this new era of racetracks" this circuit reminds me of the old ones, much better than those stuck nowadays.
@@KINGMARKOSXXV Well, no Herman Tilke involved here...
Flat and wide rumble stripped kerbs remind me of Misano and Ricardo Tormo, which are great tracks.
Not a big fan of this one.
Two long sweeping corners around the wall and mickey mouse chicanes coupled with relatively long straights is very much like Hungarian interpretation of Miami International Autodrome.
I'd welcome Hungaroring with open arms instead of this one.
Hey Nekrews, I will be making a big update to this mod as I now have pictures availabe to see how it looks in real life, and I will adjust everything from run-offs to trackside buildings to corner angles. I hope you will give it another go then :)
Edit: The update is out now!
Didn't know there were angels in the corners. Lol. Btw, so nice to know a person that does these mods. You are true heroes! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@@iVinicius9990 Thank you. And I wanted to write angle not angels😅
Love to hear it man, The track mod is fantastic atm anyway but I'll for sure give it another go when you bring the next update :)
@@Nekrews51 Thanks😁
@@maxim_playz1676 ik ik i was just kidding, it happens! 🤝🏻🤝🏻
As a Hungarian F1 fan, I'm sure that it will never change the Hungaroring
Why, I think it is rven better than current Hungarian F1 track.
@@jerzygadzinowski9138 I disagree. On paper, the layout looked promising, long straigths with heavy braking zones are always good, until I looked at the video and saw how short the straights are and how slow some of the sections are, also how short the circuit is. The Hungaroring is still way better in my opinion.
@@jerzygadzinowski9138 Simply. That is a grade 2 track, and the owners don't want to "challange" Hungaroring for F1.
@@marci7683 +1
@@jerzygadzinowski9138 The owners were clear they don't want to compete with Hungaroring. It's more like some kind of money-laundering stuff. The whole facility was built with 0 state aid. It was built by Chanoch Nissany, the guy who begun his racing career when most people finish. He basicly bought his chances into F3000 and F1. He was dangerously slow. BUT he still managed to go off track and land into the ballast. He didn't get out of the car because he forgot he have to take out the steering wheel... All in all, he left active racing and concentrated on business. He still had his dreams about racing, but according to rumours, this track cost him a lot and he's in a huge minus.
The track looks like the upgraded version of the Hungaroring downforce dependent circuit but with more overtake oppurtunities
nah it looks like a go kart track
@@hkpkppqI agree. A great track doesn’t involve so many slow corners that involve zero aggression. Maybe it’s the mod idk. But by the looks of it I’m not a fan.
The only negative thing about this track it has jackshit of elevation changes
You could never imagine, how did it hurt, when I had to see (there is a motorway right next to it, where I have passed several times) from 2013 to 2019 that the constructions didn't working and now it is finally ready.
EDIT: Small correction, it is not officialy a Grade 1 track, but with some improvements, there is a chance, that the circuit can gain it. It also need some granstands.
I believe that this would be the spiritual successor to the Hungaroring.
I think it's closer to Türkiye!
NEVER
No, the owners' themselves admitted that they don't want to host F1
@@you.got.gapped.racing44 hungaroring is one of the best tracks in the world. My dream is to see that track in Motogp.
@@danielssan4631 bring f1 to romania
I hope that the Hungaroring keeps its place in the calendar. It's one of the few true tracks left.
The owner of the circuit said that they aren't aiming for F1, but are open for every kind of motor racing. Even WEC
Too short & too narrow for actual F1 cars.
MotoGP or F3.
Can't help but notice 8, 9 and 10 are incredibly similar to Abu Dhabi in the first sector, which we just removed to better racing. If F1 goes here I can see that having a similar problem. Though it is slightly different so who knows
Pit exits need a complete redesign. Well below F1 standards. Even pit exits in Brasil are way better.
It doesn't look too bad, seems like it's meant more for bikes than for cars though. As long as it's used all year round for stuff it'll be a viable venue
Dont think this would be better, the corners are sooo thight. Its funny that the pitlane entry is almost as wide as the actual track
Not the biggest fan of this actually, but not against. I don't know how would be the weather around that area, but the region of Budapest that is around the Hungaroring provides unpreditable weather sometimes.
Also, the track seems to be a bit narrow at some corners for F1 (this could easily change I guess). I wouldn't mind seeing a F1 race here but I would do a rotation with the Hungaroring like they used to do with Nurburgring and Hockenheim
Yeah the circuit is still an early build and obviously in real life too so we'll see how it progresses
Very nice track! Thank you for you make this video!
As it is today, it's perfect for MotoGP. But for F1 it needs to be at least 10% longer !!
Yay another circuit in my country!!!
Bro they opened this track literally a few days ago, and its already a mod woooww. As a hungarian I would blow my mind if we would have 2 gp
It looks interesting. I hope we see junior racing, and even F2 and F3 here at some point, to gauge what F1 could be like should F1 ever want to move from Hungaroring. Perhaps the two venues can rotate year by year in the future?
this would be a good European grand prix
This would be WAY better as a MotoGP circuit
I am hungarian and i heard about this for the first time. I am surprised
So Hungary has this new track, the Hungaroring, & the new MotoGP circuit at Debrecen, called Magyar Nemzetközi Motodrome. Hungary will now have more Grade 2 or better circuits than all European countries apart from the UK, France, Spain, Russia, Italy & Germany.
This video Is awesome!! Nice job my friend🔥
Thank you bro 😎
The pitlane exit should be after turn1.......joining around outside of turn2 like Vietnam, this would prevent any contact at turn1.
I hope we can maybe have both hungaroring and this track because i like both and the hungaroring gives a lot of good racing
Its a decent track, but the chicanes a bit narrow
I live in Hungary and we have a holiday house in South Balaton few kilometers from the track. I put it on my bucket list to see this. And also living in Budapest is close to Hungaroring
Sections of the track look like turn 1-3 in Miami, the old chicane with hairpin in Abu Dhabi and turn 1 of the nurburgring. Weird, because the chicane was removed for better racing. But with the long straight overtaking is easier than on the hungaroring.
I got to the balaton every summer and if F1 puts this in it would be crazy
I'm happy we have two very good f1 ready tracks but I think motogp should go here and f1 should at the hungaroring.
Im from Hungary and i hope it's going to be in the race calendar
I feel like a slow first sector on cold tires would make overcuts more viable. Everyone would be super slow on their out lap, meaning anyone who stays out an extra lap would GAIN time on those who pit, not lose time.
This looks like a very good curcuit with good overtaking opportunities and a vert nice layout i would love to see f1 race here!
Wow, a pitlane entry where its wide enough that people can still race and brake late down the inside. Thats a really nice quirk.
Man... Gonna be direct: *I hated it*.
Ferenc Gulacsi is definitely a Hermann Tilke student. But unfortunately, he did not learn from the Tilke who designed Sepang, Sakhir, Shanghai, Singapore and some other amazing tracks, but from the one who designed Miami, Igora Drive, the "Frankenstein" circuits, i.e., the ones which are just parts of other tracks put together. And what the hell is that pitlane? The fella who gave this idea should be in JAIL!
Looks pretty nice 😏
I live in Hungry and this summer I visit the Balaton lake it's a beutiful place.
There’s too much Mickey Mouse at this circuit. Lots of slow stuff and that left-right chicane into the left hairpin reminds me of the old action killer layout at Abu Dhabi.
Long Beach should be on the calendar instead of Miami or Vegas
hey, i downloaded the same map as you, but it looks much mich different in game. any ideas why? i diwnloaded it from the link under the video
The tracked linked is nothing like the one you have?
2, 3 and 4 reminds me of the roundabout section of Vietnam, while 5, 6, and 7 looks exactly like Miami first three turns
I can still see the original Balatonring on Google Maps, LoL
Yeah this is way better than the current track being used in Hungary on the f1 calendar.
Agree with most of the lower comments - this looks terribly slow, pretty narrow, and I'm amazed if it's got Grade 1 safety with so little runoff, especially in front of grandstands. I guess in a sense it *is* a "spiritual successor" to the Hungaroring, if we're talking the original 80s-90s layout that was like Monaco without the barriers.
Next to the track they sell Lángos as well :)
8-9-10 looks like yas marina old t5-6-7. A good hairpin but a chicane before it with not hard enough braking zone makes it difficult to overtake
I think F1 should try this track for 1 race but the Hungaroring is more F1 friendly and this track is more purpose built for MotoGP
This is not the racetrack MotoGP are going to use, since that new circuit is near Debrecen, the Magyar Nemzetközi Motodrome, which ironically is also not a terrible F1 track on the sim.
From Hungary. The owners said they don't want to challange the Hungaroring for F1. That's why they build a Grade 2 track, wich simply not allow to F1 race here.
The track is nice but for F1 it seems too small, specifically the straights. Seems better suited for F2 and slower. Prefer the Ring but that too has its issues.
Correction: this track is only Grade 2, so this track couldn't host F1 or MotoGP yet.
What is it with new circuits being flat? It’s like everybody forgot that elevation creates some of the coolest corners in racing history. Ou rouge, paddock hill bend, the corkscrew, Acque Minerali, etc
Turns 8-9-10 are Turns 5-6-7 of the pre-2021 Abu Dhabi
Idk if the racing will be better than the Hungaroring, but i play the F1 games a lot and hate the track on those games lol
Nice circuit, this will.give great races in the future, they built it so fast👏👏👏👏👏👏
More countries should do rotation year on year
oh well the imola gp is resembles the balaton park circuit / hát igen az imolai nagydij hasolit a balaton bocs a helyes irásért / sorry for the spelling rong
Not sure about this one, especially turns 8-10. That Abu Dhabi-esque section has been removed in Abu Dhabi because there never were any overtakes and the rest of the track is also quite dubious. I'd let F1 race here a few times before I would form my final opinion but first impressions aren't so good.
Balaton Park looked like a combination of Hungaroring and Red Rock Valley.
Fun fact: The owner is Roy Nissany's father
T 10 hairpin after chicane doesn't make sense - extend the straight (remove chicane) and make that hairpin a banked corner
They should probably move the pit lane to the exit of T1. Would be more convenient imo
Yeah, Obviously the track is still in it's early days so as time goes on we'll see what happens :)
Thanks from Hungary❤
❤️
as a Hungarian I would love it. Just place it in summer when we are at Balaton 😅
If Tilke didn't design it then we ain't going!
The better version of Vietnam GP, similar to many circuits like America, Dutch and Mexico
The track owners have an agreement with the Hungaroring to not compete for the F1 race. So it's only realistic that the MotoGP is driving on this track because since 2008 Hungary wants to host it. They also wanted to build a track at lake Balaton but this track never got finished. So this is the best opportunity now
That's a bit too many tight slow corners that resemble the atrocious chicanes that are thankfully removed from Abu Dhabi.
The track only applied for Grade 2 certification. They're not planning to take Hungaroring's role.
Think its too short or small for f1, but can imagine all other series having fun here
It's looks pretty cool for MotoGP and WSBK as well!
Yeah it looks great for all types of racing so we'll see the progress of the track hopefully next year :)
@@Nekrews51 I still would like to see MotoGP return to Brazil though
Reminds me of a mix of sochi and valencia
well its a good track but m4sport (the hungarian edition of skysports) said that the track is too narrow so there is a big chance that there will be only motogp race and no f1 race.. but it would be so good if the fia would put this track in the f1 calendar
Nice layout but it's flatter than Sochi
Is the track suitable for Hypercars, LMP2s and GT3s? If so then I would definitely like to see this track in WEC.
I think this track would be way better for racing, but i miss the "esses" of the second sector.
Looks decent
Seems like a fun track but honestly, I kind of like the Hungaroring too even if it isn't great for F1
Last sections a bit Mickey Mouse but overall decent, got the first few corners of silverstone so would give some good overtaking opportunities. Straights seem a little short though.
Still prefer the Hungaroring, one of my favourite tracks of the year
Home circuit🤩🤩❤
Balaton Park might be FIA Grade 1 but the circuit isn't suited to F1 cars. For some reason I'm reminded of TI Circuit Aida which hosted the 1994 & 1995 Pacific Grand Prix, two utterly forgettable races due to the dull circuit layout.
I'm not a huge fan of the modern Hungaroring circuit either, but it's an improvement over this. It also has some decent elevation changes.
The only thing I would change is that slow chicane into slow hairpin
Seems fun
This track gives me Misano vibes. I prefer the Hungaroring over this.
If the straights were longer I would like it
This track is so good! Formula One must race here!
Turn 8, 9 and 10 does think me a little bit about the part in the old circuit of Abu Dhabi. I don't know if I want to be happy if this comes to F1. We just removed that....
I’m not sure how to feel about this track. It’s great having another permanent race circuit but meaning we could lose the Hungaroring. But the track seems narrow and the straights seem to be too short for overtaking to happen even going down into hard braking zones. I still think the Hungaroring would be a better venue for the Hungarian Grand Prix
The straights are far too short for overtaking in F1. But the Layout in general looks nice but pretty slow tbh
Why’s 8,9,10 just what we got rid of at Abu Dhabi
Great chicane
the pit road looks more like the main track than a pit road 😄
balaton pk circuit looks like a motogp track
Looks interesting but I would like for Hungaroring to stay. This could be maybe better for MotoGP or maybe Formula e could try hete
Can this circuit replace hungarioring on near future
A mix of Nurburgring and Igora Drive.
turns 8,9 and 10 looks awfully te same as the 2020 abudhabu turns 4,5 and 6
Suddenly the Hungaroring looks a lot more exciting...
Good overtaking zones but pit entrance and exit look like a nightmare and definitely not a circuit suitable for bikes as MotoGP had initially planned to hold a race here in 2024 in exploratory talks 4 years ago.
Idk i dont think its a bad track
I think its pretty good its gonna be challengeing
Its not like the hungaroring but still i think its good
Why just not put 2 hungary races on the calendar..just like austria and austria(styria) 2021
the same mistake as abu dhabi did before. adding a useless chicane for a perfect hard breaking point at t8-10
i really hope that gets removed in case there will be an gp in the future
