The Talentedest Man On Earth
Ten years (?) ago, a friend in Boston sent me a video of him playing. Bought the album and listened to it probably 500 times in a row. Looked to see if he was playing in Seattle any time soon, and it turned out he was playing at the Triple Door the next day. Got two tickets, saw the show and ended up chatting with Kristian afterward by the merch table. He was so sweet and ended up giving me a corona and a shirt. haha. A couple days later, I was going through the airport and three different TSA people looked at me and said "I thought you'd be taller..." which seemed extremely random and had me very confused. Only as I was walking down the jetway to board did I realize I was wearing a shirt that said "THE TALLEST MAN ON EARTH"
I totally got a man-crush on Kristian. xD
I saw him in Boston!! Then I tried to sound like him.. didn't work

I can't help but think of this guy still struggling through a divorce after so many years. Forever is a Very Long Time just shows how absolutely torn up he is/was. The lyrics make me so sad for him, but its also beautiful and that makes it poetic. Love that song with all my heart and hope he can find love again if he hasn't already. There can be a new forever, bud.
I'm having a day of depression, a real episode I cant shake or distract from at work. There was nothing I needed more than Kristian's wonderful voice and talent to just...control the feelings. It's so perfect and I'm falling back in love with his music the more I watch and listen to this video.

I’ve been a fan of his music for years and I finally saw him perform in Dallas last night and now it’s confirmed, I’m in love with this guy and his voice and his humbleness and yea.

Last sunday I the pleasure of going to one of kristian's concerts near to my hometown (which was awesome btw) and at the end of it me and a friend of mine hang out over by the tour bus hoping maybe we would catch Kristian and trade a few quick words with him. Me and my friend waited quite a while ( along with a cool lady that we ended up talking to) and then when kristian showed up he came on to greet us and he stayed and talked to us normally for a very long time despite being knackered and everything. we all had a great time and seeing him as a "regular", kind and funny person really meant the world to me :)
The little chuckle before he says all the time at the end broke me down.
Maybe 2019 isn’t gonna be so bad after all, this man gives me hope.

This album is so much like “the beast in it’s tracks” by Josh Ritter, both are post divorce albums and the pain of losing the love of your life really gives artists something great to work with, apparently.
Had a really tough day and then found this. I love these songs and videos. Thank you for being honest Kristian. It is comforting to see that we are all just human.

i saw him live for the first time the same day of this recording in Seattle. It was such an amazing experience. i even waited after to meet him and he is just has nice and humble as he appears. the nicest man on earth

But the rasp in his voice is a vocal technique, so different from his talking voice. Again, no diss. Just an observation. I love KEXP for bringing all these great artists in their studio, maybe you could bring Sigrid, from Norway in the studio? Or boy pablo, girl in red etc.. There are some exciting artists right now from Norway with awesome music! Keep it up!
So much better than the studio versions! The sound here is rich, raw and layered and gives depth to the songs. The same tunes on the album are overproduced and uselessly polished... they just don't do justice to the performer

Never had a complaint about KEXP audio quality before, but the extremely trebly recording and sharp reverb make this difficult to listen to in earbuds. :(
Totally agree, I got really disappointed of the audio quality of this video. It's noticeable from the interview part in the start throughout the video. :(
