I lost my 33yr old wife to cancer last year.. I meditate to help with my healing.. your beautiful tank helps me with that. Thankyou it leaves me inspired.
My condolences, I got into hobby like a month after my wifes suicide. She was 35 and it was very unexpected. I kind of have ptsd about it, and its has given me something to focus on and take care of. When my thoughts get too much I zone out on my tank and I can't explain why but it helps me. Its a rough deal and it never completely heals, but I have more good days, and thoughts then bad now. I hope you get there too.
Amazing tank. I have had the pleasure of viewing it in person. David and I go back more than twenty years we were both on the programme 'for the love of fish' aired on channel 4 many wonks ago
This is literally an ocean reef, the diversity is INCREDIBLE. I can't recall how many times I said, "WOW" in this video. I love that green toadstool leather, simply breathtaking. Fantastic job, will definitely go back to this video again and again for inspiration.
Wow, absolutely stunning! The planning, the time, the equipment, all the fish and coral, the annenomes, the money! A job like this to deliver I know as a builder, it's hard to leave your baby! A true master piece, it definitely turned out so much better than the actual concept! Your team deserves all the praise they're getting, "DD"!
Unreal, simply amazing. I would love to see a video of his support systems, like refugia, sumps and skimmers. I love seeing what makes systems like this tick.
If this was a piece of art (which I think it is) it would be a masterpiece. It's breathtakingly beautiful to look at and it looks so tranquil. I could look at it endlessly and still see something new each time. Even if you're not a fish person you wouldn't be to not appreciate the time, dedication and love this man has for these wondrous fish, creatures and corals. It's simply stunning.
Amazing, the color combos and fish ratios, combination of hobbyist and nature tank. 2 thumbs up and thanks for all your honest examples of your experiences.
I felt like i was snorkeling at a reef..... And i never went snorkeling. And if i never will . thank you for making me fee llike i did. Awesome tank. And that's an understatement for this beauty
The first thing you got to have to be able to even think of such an extravagant design, is the cost. If cost is a restriction, that's already a huge hurdle to overcome. The next thing is the intricate planning - - Mr. Saxby's vision of a home reef aquarium is just beyond what most of us can think of. Years of experience in the hobby culminated into this masterpiece. Every piece of detail went through him. Lastly - - the fundamental maintenance/feeding/tending to the reef inhabitants. Mr. Saxby feeds his fishes generously 5 times a day, and he has some of the best equipment ever for a home aquarium. Just look at his fishes; fat and plump and loving the reef life. Look at that PBT @ 10:08 😁 I bet if the fishes had a choice; ocean with uncertain predators/dangers lurking or Mr. Saxby's comfy home aquarium, they would choose the latter! 😉👍
Davids 2008 video was when I realized keeping corals was something I wanted to do. Before that it was just browned out frags at LFS that where overpriced. It took years and years of learning and pain and now I feel I can growing bright colorful SPS better than anyone!
Wow to just set your eyes on a beautiful tank like this it just carms you down wow amaze at the Beauty of every living creature in there it’s one of the best looking reef tanks I’ve ever seen crazy thumps up. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 keep up the great work.
I love the height and width of the corals really gives it depth looks like it goes into infinity brilliant! This is my dream tank love the way you have shrimps etc: and still manage to have lots of beautiful fish this is a true ecosystem in my opinion could sit there for hours with a good book beautiful very well done
Simplesmente espetacular amigo! Já possui um aquário marinho, porém fiquei sem tempo e além de ser dispendioso manter requer muita dedicação ! Mas é uma terapia fantástica 👏🏻👍🏻
I just wonder how much money it takes for such a magnificent tank like this. Alot of unique and expensive fish and corals. Definatley most beautiful tank in the world
What I spent so far on my 240 ( not counting the tank that is 35 years old) including fish, plants, and supplies..wouldn't equal what that big beautiful green Sarcophyton cost. I had the brown in a 50 gallon reef years ago..just used the whole mid tank and looked great. To the point..this is one of the best tanks on CZcams. The one in New Jersey is pretty close. Some great but much smaller. Of course the very best is the Staton Island public Aquarium..10,000 gallons worth. THAT one is better then other larger public aquarium displays.
If I were to make one suggestion to David? I would say he needs to arrange the pumps to make the large fan corals sway back and forth...pumps,wave makers..something to give that "flow" look and movement to that great aquarium.
Hi Stan, i am replying on behalf of David as he asked me to respond. The display has 8 x 20,000 l/hr pumps running in wave mode via an internal closed loop system . The flow pattern has been designed to encompass the whole aquarium so unlike flow created by power heads there isnt an obvious blast of water in any one direction but more of a strong ebb and flow throughout the tank. In the corner where the fan coral is there is a large under tow of water for instance back to the pump intakes which brings a strong flow to the coral but a diffuse broad one so the coral may not look like its being rocked in flow but none the less its receiving lots of water flowing by. hope this helps Tony
Thanks. I was going to start on one to upstage David..and then I didn't win the billion dollar lotto..wink. He's got a great tank and home to wrap around it.
I lost my 33yr old wife to cancer last year.. I meditate to help with my healing.. your beautiful tank helps me with that. Thankyou it leaves me inspired.
Our condolences, we wish you all the best. Tony on behalf of D-D and David Saxby.
Wish you all the best.

I hope youre feeling better.

What I spent so far on my 240 ( not counting the tank that is 35 years old) including fish, plants, and supplies..wouldn't equal what that big beautiful green Sarcophyton cost.

The Long Island 20,000 gallon reef is easily the best large reef aquarium, and it's not even close.
El acuario más bello q he visto muchas felicidades
200k plus? Given all the necessary construction alterations it may be more...absolutely epic!!
