I've heard this story quite a few times but every time it shakes me to hear how effortlessly and emotionlessly he killed his own kids

Even to this day I just canât really understand or begin to process how this dude could be so cold-blooded. Especially when he did that bs interview, knowing in his head what he did the last half of a day. From when she came home at 2 am to when he in my opinion tried throwing her off by actually having relations with her and then taking her, their daughters, and their future son and taking their lives without skipping a beat just because he was too much of a coward and poor excuse of a man to just get a divorce plain and simple. Whatâs more confusing is why these delusional illogical women are enamored with him and still send him letters. Also gross.
I have a hard time believing he was emotionless. He might have been in the moment. His brain just went on autopilot. A quiet man that often don't have a place to vent their anger, will often snap and try to find a way that doesn't involve any confrontation. I am not defending him. I am just saying he doesn't have an antisocial personality disorder

My first baby was born just over a month ago. I didn't know what love was until I met him. Just hearing him cry makes my knees weak and I shake. With that being said, I truly cannot understand how this man looked his children in their beautiful, innocent faces, probably for an extended moment and then take their lives in such a personal way. Such a massive tragedy through and through. May the girls and their mother forever rest in peace.

As a father of a little girl, I can't even imagine what would make a person do this. I hope he drops the soap every day in prison for the rest of his miserable life. "Daddy no".... that got me.
I understand your disposition. I watched this one video on prison myths and apparently dropping the soap doesnât get one that well known unpleasant experience. But Iâm certain the man suffers more mentally and emotionally, youâd be surprised what time alone can do, one has no choice but to reflect again and again on past mistakes.
This is such a tragic story. My wife and I watched a documentary on him and weâre shaking to the core as we have young daughters. The other weird and crazy thing is it happened not 5 miles from my house.

Unfortunately, this child-murdering POS is in protective custody because the prison authorities know well that he wouldn't survive a day in general population.

Pretty sure he thought people would assume they met some random serial killer. Pretty sure he intended to dig Shanann's body back up and try to cut it up and fit it in the oil tanks too so they would never be found but Shanann's friends rang him at work. Didn't believe his lies about a playdate and threatened to break down the door and call the police both of which he begged them not to do so he had to go home.

You guys should do one on Joseph Fritzl. He kept his daughter locked up in his house basement and sexually assaulted her for over 20 years, resulting in 7 kids. That whole story is completely messed up.

I've seen the police footage, from the moment Shannan's neighbours met the officer until Chris' conviction. It's unbelievable what he has done, especially to his daughters and unborn child.
Didn't his neighbors even mention that he was speaking more frantically?

When I saw the video of his daughter, Bella, singing about her daddy being her hero it broke my heart for her and made me so angry. How horrifying that her hero that was supposed to protect her took her precious life. Rest in paradise, baby girl.
I remember this one. when he said how his daughter said daddy no, I don't want to while crying, that broke me in way that no one in their right mind will hurt their child. it is somewhat a lot worse than anything I ever known.

I watched the documentary about this on Netflix but it still breaks my heart to know that the two young girls were killed by their father who they loved and trusted.

There were actually two people in interrogation with Chris after he took the polygraph test. You have the woman who read that test, the other one was a cop who intentionally didn't wear his issued coat into the room. They knew he did it, but what they needed was the location of the bodies. It physically made the polygraph reader uncomfortable to sit there and listen to the cop telling Chris all these things to get him to open up.
This story shook me like no other....i cant even began to imagine how scared them little girls had to beđą

oooh... i remember this taking place. i randomly stumbled upon the body cam video of the responding officer. I remember vividly how strange the guy acted. Some people response to imense stress differently, this guy tried to act as if he tried to remain calm but you could see the way he fidgeted and used his phone that he was not mentally present in the sitiuation when he, the officer and some of his neighbours went upstairs to look for potential clues

The interrogation of Chris Watts is an interesting watch if anyone has the time for it. And also the neighbours solved the case pretty much immediately.

Not the neighbours, her friend, who wasn't a neighbour, got the police looking into it more which led to the neighbour looking at cctv. The neighbour didn't just do it, yeah it's great they had the cctv, it's great they looked but they weren't looking at it before she came looking. They definitely didn't solve the case. How would they have known where the bodies were or that he was lying?

For a man who had so many riches like a loving wife who was willing to try to preserve their marriage to 2 beautiful little girls who worshipped the ground he walked on and a son on the way and a big beautiful home to now languishing in a 6 by 8 foot cell all alone for the rest of his life all because of some cheap thrill with a loose unkempt woman, talk about digging your grave. Imagine committing a crime so heinous that you're not safe even in prison so to preserve your worthless life you have to be segregated from other inmates who want to rip your throat out. From living the American dream to being the most reviled and hated monstrosity on earth.

At one point the cop tests him and says something into his radio and he looks up from his phone so quick it was sad. Also the neighbor straight up said he was acting strange. Insane. As a father myself this is heartbreaking. I hope his stay in the prison is as tormented as the last moment of those little girls.
Took the girls to the tower? The oil tanks, specifically - one for each. One of tank's opening was too small for the older girl; so Chris did even worse to her to make her fit.
The first responders and workers who had to drain the tanks needed counseling after seeing those poor little girls.

That little girls song at the end made me cry. As a father you're there to protect your children. Even die if the need comes. He failed them. He failed them in the worst way and she loved him when he didn't deserve it.

There was a guy in Chicago, Drew Peterson, who was the prince suspect in the murders of two of his ex wives, and he was still able to get another lover before ultimately being charged and convicted.
Itâs because those women have a history of trauma from childhood or from their partners. Itâs a common cycle for abused people to get drawn to abusers
Many crazy murderers in prison do, both male and female. There are even more crazy people outside of prison who lack something that makes us understand how horrible these crimes were. Instead they see someone who "would do anything for love".

I usually donât get upset over true crime like this. Iâm used to it, I feel horrible for the victims, but Iâm fine emotionally reading or listening to the cases. But something about how much his wife loved him, how his kids adored him, how the last words his little girl said were âno daddyââŠ. Heartbreaking. This man is a monster and I hope all three of them Rest In Peace. Gone too soon.

He didnât deserve any of them. Itâs so sickening how someone could destroy all of that in the most disgusting, horrific way possible.
I remember watching that unfolded. His neighbor had it on camera. So police asked him if they can see what happened. His neighbor showed and it caught chris carrying something in his truck. Thatâs how they got him in and asked him then he just spit it all.
