This is still better than when I try to build a normal house lol
Ikr she is soo talented, i could never
I really love the theme, the floor plan like if l built something like that I would be sooo proud of it lol
i actually really liked the exterior
Same. And I actually really like this house. All the bump outs and different size rooms gives it some quirk. I’d live here. Lol
FRR LOL
Please add to gallery! I actually love this house 😅
I love these type of challenges Kayla they’re so chaotic
Same 😂
Your username made me laugh for an unreasonable amount of time 😂
same🤣
Your username called for me
I feel called out my name’s also Kayla😭
That big room could have been a basement and used as a play room or home cinema. Just sayin 😅
That would have been great! I kept talking to my screen saying rec room, but I didn't think of putting it in as a basement.
Hell, just make it a big hallway with a few desks and bookcases and now it’s a family study. Put some easels up in there. Idk it really disappoints me when she’s too focused on it being perfect instead of like… doing the challenge.
@@chelscara You can always do the challenge yourself y'know.
@@chelscara
As an artist, stuff like that happens. Going out of your comfort zone is hard
Yeah! Or just an attic that’s a half room half storage system (I’m not a good builder so that idea might be terrible 😅)! I would’ve made that room into a workout room/artist studio/desks/gaming systems (maybe the person living there is just an artist since it was just originally one room). Maybe she could’ve put it outside and made it into an indoor pool room (idk if that counts)
Number generator: "gives random number"
Simsie: "Okay, but what if it wasn't that?" 🤣
Kayla you should’ve just kept the big room, I would’ve loved to see how you’d furnish it. It could’ve been a shared bedroom for twins or triplets, or the most extra master bedroom ever or something
Maybe if you do this challenge again in the future, you could leave the giant rooms as is and try to create "walls" with furniture. I'd like to see how something like that turns out 😄
Spandrels and columns can go a long way, and halfwalls can create a lot of separation. I don't think it would be cheating to create a wall long enough to make it a spandrel.
hear me out: a shell challenge made of randomly generated sized rooms, but in the shape simsie makes
and maybe to spin for a number of tiles a room has instead dimensions to get even more chaotic with weird shapes
@@anaterka13 i think a random tile build would be so much easier to work with! until she rolls a 1 tile or 2 tile room haha
or maybe a challenge where simsie randomly generates the sizes of like 5 or 6 rooms and it's part of the challenge to arrange the rooms into a shape that makes sense (for the build at least). usual shell challenge rules still stand i.e. you can't change the shape/dimension of the rooms and you must use every room, but outside of that anything goes
@@amsterdiem Could be called a jigsaw puzzle challenge or something like that.
I would love to see some kind of challenge inception monstrosity where you build a house using every room is a different size, then furnish it using every room is a different budget/color, so like flip a coin for either budget or color, then use a randomized to generate the budget or color depending on what got flipped for each room. The house would be an embodiment of chaos.
Sounds like a great Idea for my Magnus Archives builds. Perfect for the spiral :)
I did this time ago with my husband and is a nightmare hahaha
I love how Kayla could easily just lie about the spins to make it easier but she doesn’t lmaoo
but she tweaked the challenge a lot to make it easier
She didn't actually follow the rules of the challenge which made it really unsatisfying and frustrating to me! It's not about making the house look nice this challenge! It's about the chaos so just make it happen!
@@analucialopez6050 Same. Tapped out at 7:15 after she'd added patios of random size and then changed the rules instead of building a third floor or a basement with the rolls she did get. Wish she'd just have fun with it instead of trying to always build a pretty suburban.
@@analucialopez6050she’s the one playing she can literally do wtv she wants 😭
@@analucialopez6050 it's not that serious 😭
in future, perhaps do this on a 64x64 lot, then room sizes don't matter...
Also, gallery please!
Kayla changing the rules instead of changing what she's chosen for the rooms to be is hilarious
you say hilarious, i say annoying
@@abrisc32then simply dont watch ? 🤣
@@abrisc32 no one makes you watch. Just don't and unsubscribe.
@@abrisc32 man it's so weird how all of your comments on her channel are complaining
@@4.archie he either has a crush on her or wants to be like her.
i like how simsie decided adding a foyer was against the rules but putting rooms inside of another room was allowed 🤣
That giant room could have been a basement, but we know she never likes to put those in builds. Also, I guess she IS from Florida, where they don't have a native concept of having a room UNDER your house.
Yeah, in Florida, a basement is just something to be flooded. I, in contrast in the midwest, build my dream house and the first thing I put in there is a basement with a room that has nothing on the walls so I can hide there during tornado warnings.
Oooh fancy big wine cellar!
I live in Florida and until I was 8 I never knew there were basements. Only attics which we never went into because they were too hot.
Kayla seems to never run out of great ideas and game play and her effort is truly appreciated! These daily uploads keep me sane!
The 143264 tıme she does thıs challenge lol.
You could always fit a media room, playroom, parents retreat, etc instead of extra bedrooms
I feel like she could have made the giant room either a third floor as a giant attic or a basement and then it would of been okay to keep it massive and fill it with random items. Could be an option if this happens again lol
The entire time I was screaming to turn the giant upper room into a home theater / play room combo. 😂
The downstairs is nice but let’s be honest the entire upstairs didn’t fit the challenge. It was basically just Kayla creating a floor plan she wanted. Wished she used the big room. The chaos is the point.
The fun part of this challenge is the challenging room sizes. It would've been interesting to see how you use that giant room and make it look nice using dividers or plants. By bending the rules like that you took the fun and challenging aspect away. 😥
I like these unplanned builds a lot, they're always so much fun!!!
I was hoping the big space upstairs would’ve been a loft! And the big room she got that she cheated away could have been another loft on a third floor or a basement. I hate being that person but I wish she had stuck with the rules because it could’ve been fun!
If you were to do this again, I think you should nominate which room you're finding the sizes for, so you could end up with a massive bathroom and tiny kitchen? Loved this video! xx
I usually love these challenges, this one wasn't as fun for me.
the fun of the challenge is that you get random sized rooms.. when you change it up & don't follow the rules, it's basically just another house build 🤷🏾♀️
yeah I was bummed that she didn’t even try to make the big room upstairs work :/
@@piercetheskies same here. I wasn't a fan of the whole "room inside another room" thing either
@@ellabella3469 that really irked me. I just did this challenge. I got an 8x4 bathroom for the first floor. It is the MOST LUXURIOUS downstairs bathroom. Shower, bath, spa area, vanity. It just makes it so boring cheat8ng the whole time on a joke challenge.
@@chelscara yeah exactly, you made use of what you got and that's the fun of the challenge. that sounds great!
FRRRR
I'm so mad right now, Kayla could have moved the 10 by 7 up to the front, then put the 4 by 8 in the back and it would all fit so nicely. I just wish I could tell her right now.
For that monstrous room, you could just use it as a basement. Have it like a garage, laundry, skill building space. You could even make it an indoor pool. Just saying.
I actually really like this build, it's really unique and different from most things she builds. I'm sad she didnt add it to the gallery
I was looking for this comment ! I thought it made a nice large family home ?!
I wish it was on the gallery too
i was hoping you'd turn the toddler bedroom into a walk-in closet for the main bedroom! it would've been perfect! but i love how it all turned out 🤍
The 4x4 bathroom could have been the closet from get together pack.
Hi Kayla just recommending a challenge: Every room is based off a painting in the sims 4! :)
I really like this idea!!!
Very thankful for you Kayla, I'm glad youtubers like you prepare videos ahead of time so people like me who sit around on youtube all day still have new content to watch while yall can still enjoy your holidays and have some time off
If she would furnish differently for once she’d be able to furnish the bigger rooms - easy, 2 beds, tv & seating area, hobby/career space (easel, etc)
I do agree, however it is more easy, and definitely more comfortable to stick with what you know and are good at.
Imagine loving the color blue, like your walls and clothing is all blue, and coming home and everything is green. It would feel unnatural.
I’m not saying that she shouldn’t try new things, (everyone should try something different ), but I’m just trying to explain my view on this.
the build actually turned out pretty good for a random size generated house lool
I wish Kayla had used the giant room as a rec room or something. It’s a bummer to change the rules mid build.
You should try to generate the dimensions when you already decided what room it'll be, it would be a beautiful mess lol
Basically just actually do the challenge lol
I’m not sure you painted the primary bedroom 😂
She did, don't worry. It's gray if I'm seeing correctly, it's got white trim at the top of the wall.
I thought that too but it must have been edited out because you can see at 22:40 that it's painted :D
@@MKTV9192 Thanks, that was bugging me and I'm glad to see she didn't miss it!
Suggestion for next time if you wanted to you could limit how many spins you get per lot or per level ❤
You should spin a wheel for the room type. Then randomise the size of the room. For added fun you could use a colour generator for the colour theme of the room aswell.
This house looks a lot like a real home layout 😂
Lmao! I thought the same thing
every room is a different holiday challenge!
Okay but can we talk about simsie in this video? She looks so gorgeous!
With all the room sizes you were given, I'd say you executed this very well. Good job Kayak!!
kayak?😭😭
@@peytonlynne apparently it's an inside joke. A lot of people call her Kayak so I hopped on as well
me? early to a simsie video? i’m so excited to watch this rn
I would love to see this again with more rules:
Idea 1- Start with 1-10 and after every roll, remove the numbers from that roll so that every room is a different size. Idea 2 - Go by a list of rooms so like the first roll will be the living room, second roll the bathroom, 3rd roll the kitchen, etc
I was going to download this because its actually nice but soon as she said it's not in the gallery all I can say is dang 😂
That weird little room would have been a good size for a walk-in closet. I know sims don’t need them but it would be cool to see in a build
The long toddler room, I would've turned into a laundry room!
Or a second little office
this challenge, the color challenge and the budget challenge are my favorites! Loved the video
Hmm, I think if you had a small room and put it completely within the big room, not touching any walls, it would count and not be cheating, because you won't be cutting off any of the wall length. Then the smaller room could be some sort of divider. Like you could have a bed on one side and then a fancy closet on the other with a bathroom in the middle.
You should totally start turning these into shells for us!! Soooo many other ideas for this floor plan
Happy Christmas Eve eve
The 8x1... Delete the side of the staircase.
5x8... Could make it a basement, or an attic.
I'd make that huge up stair room a dormitory. Just throw in 5 or 6 bunk beds, a few end tables and you're set.
The toddler bedroom would ahve made a stellar laundry room in my opinion... but I guess we don't do laundry, curtains or lamps on this channel, do we? 😂
Laundry is understandable since she leans base game friendly.
Please do more of these random room size challenges! I love how chaotic they are! I wouldn’t be mad at you making the lowest number 2 though.
I think you could style this out with like an uber modern stacked boxes vibe like each room has a different siding direction like alternating. Idk if it would work but thats definitely the direction I'd go in
That’s what I thought!
I enjoy that you didnt decide the room before you rolled, that gave you a lot more freedom to make it. Could you also try one where you roll all the rooms, piece it together like a puzzle and then do the rooms after, more like a shell challenge?
He, defeats the purpose of the challenge.
@@chelscara sort of makes them more spin offs of the original challenge, which can still be fun.
It is so fun seeing the difference in sim builders' default styles. Like, Simsie has the "blue suburban" (which she is growing out of, congrats!!). And then there's me, with pseudo-Victorian influence and a penchant for shotgun houses. (Houses where there's a straight, open line from the front door to the back door, typically in the form of a hallway.)
i honestly like the shape of this house! i would loveeee to renovate this to look like everything was intentional
It'd be interesting to create a shell challenge with random sized rooms
Okay, but I actually think this is really good 🥺 it’s so quirky I love it 🫶🏽
You should do videos where you repair your challenge builds like this! Like keeping the essence of the house but adjusting sizes to make it make more sense
I honestly really love how it turned out. It looks so unique!
Yea you cheated. 😂
Maybe you could spin 2 different room sizes each time and get to choose which one of the two you keep so it can be a little more fun & practical to have some type of options
The sound of Kayla’s mouse clicking is so therapeutic 😂✨♥️🫶🏽
I would've totally been fine with making that big room a loft like you tried and said was "cheating", I feel like it would be less cheating than breaking it up.
I recreated this challenge on my channel and I was SWEATING 🤣 Everybody should try it
I would have used the giant upstairs room as a dormitory and made this a frat house.
That 2x5 toddler room would’ve been a perfect laundry room/utility closet
I actually really love this house, you did such a good job furnishing it to make it look so cute!
Honestly, I really like this house- it reminds me of a large american suburban family hahah
... also is it just me or is that one corner counter in the kitchen being a slightly different colour irrationally irritating anyone else?
Kayla, don't worry about pleasing the haters you build what you want, change the challenge if you want!! Play for yourself not to please everyone (it's impossible I've tried) 😅Love you❤ you are talented!!!
I actually love this house!!! It’s definitely better than I could make with this challenge 😉
I love when Snap walks by and all that shows is her tail. She’s a cat but she could be a raccoon, a coati…
This turned out so amazing, like I love the finished build
Please post this on the Gallary, it’s actually quite nice!
I think it would be interesting to do something like this but instead randomize a number of total tiles. That way you can be more flexible with the shapes of the rooms and not everything is a box (therefore it might be easier to get a decent shape for the exterior at the least), but there's still challenge; maybe there could be anywhere from 4 tiles for an entire room to 100 tiles for one room. You still might end up with massive or tiny rooms that are awkward shapes to make them fit too!
I so love idea with stairs like... I would never think about it, and this hallway looks really interesting
Honestly the house looks very realistic, homes in real life are super random and I think it looks nice from the front!
I’d love a video where you go back and fix houses from challenges like these! It’d be fun to revisit and see what you can do with the spaces you created
This honestly turned out in the end! If anyone could do it, it would be you, lol. Would you be interested in doing a build using only CC? I’d love to see what you come up with, especially with the last set you just posted!! I primarily use CC, so I’d love to see it. 😭
Merry Christmas Simsie & family! Hopefully this build goes up on the gallery; this challenge feels perfectly produces base game "ea builds" and the renovation options feel endless
Me trying desperatly to figure out why the dishwasher is silly there. I don't see the problem
9:19 I was screeming to the screen for her to exchange the giant room and the one of 4 by 7 hahaha
That would have made things easier interms of having a semi-uniform shape upstairs
I'd love to see a mix of this random size challenge AS WELL as a random budget for each room, I feel like it would cause extreme chaos XD
I’d love to see you do a number randomizer for the amount of objects in a room. So, if you’re furnishing the kitchen and you roll a two, you can only have 2 objects in the kitchen.
Would the items include necessary appliances or is that after functional necessities are filled? Like would the kitchen have just a fridge and counter or fridge, counter, a small appliance, and deco? The former would make life interesting if a bathroom rolled 1.
imagine if she did one of these random whatever challenges for a community lot lmao
the big room kerfuffle has me convinced kayla falls victim to the gambler's fallacy every time
Next time do this: role once to determine the number of boxes
Roll from there to get the size of boxes
Then with the individual boxes Tetris them together to make your house
This is sincerely so fun to watch! The dispair in Kayla's face when the giant room was spun was so funny to watch 😂😂
I love this challenge 😅 but I'd also love to see an every room is the SAME size challenge 😂
My FAV challenge
The big room placed closer to the front of the house could have worked as you could have put in dividing walls but not full stretches of walls to do a walk in wardrobe section which would then make the main area for the bedroom a bit smaller and then it could have a small sitting area in it too. So its a fancy rich person house. The biggest difficulty you seemed to be having was in thinking that "house" can only mean a small blue suburban so you were trying to rework it to fit that concept rather than just designing something to work with the space which might not be your usual family home set up you do.
The way I was hoping the 4x1 ensuite would be some sort of closet. Would love to see how you tackle storage spaces like that.
Got me screaming A BASEMENT MAKE ONE OF THE BIG ONES A BASEMENT
That kitchen/dining room area reminds me of my aunt's house. Just a huge room with everything in it
I Once did a challenge (it's hard for me for others maybe easy) where I didn't gave my sims any money and they need to earn money themselves, so I didn't had money for a shower because I had the idea that I sell a few things to get that craft table thing, because they can build a bathtub. (also they didn't had money for paying the water) so all my sims showered in the gym and ate at friends house 😂
Love these sort of videos :D
This build looks amazing! I am loving to see Kayla using lots of packs. She got rid of the blue suburbans and now they are so much more creative! And also, it really looks like she's having a great time doing it
Take all the time you need Kayla. You're awesome and even the chaotic builds are better than 95% of the stuff I come up with. In fact my best builds are based on your shells
Hi Kayla- I love your videos! ❤
This house feels actually super realistic to real life houses hah
