    Make sure you read the instructions and warnings before you use this product!
    There seems to be two camps in the head shaving realm. Those who want the quickest and most efficient head shave possible and those who have a shave den and are devoted to a luxurious shave. I seem to sit somewhere in the middle.
    I was excited to try out this product and thought it would be great for those who want a quick head shave and don't want to be bothered by nasty razor bumps. As you will see in the video...it didn't turn out so well.

    Pro TIp : Just FYI Black Man here so been familiar with this product going back to 80s watching dad use it to shave face. He removed hair and magic shave with butter knife. Magic does have a specific smell just fyi. When i used it in 90s 2000s. I used cream. Have very sensitive skin. As time went on. Best method is just let it sit and forget. Do a chore. Play a video game read etc. Then damp some Bounty Paper towels and wipe face. They follow up with Dry Bounty Paper Towel with pressure and it will remove hair out of every pore. I then get another paper towel then put mixture of 90 percent rubbing alcohol and a astringent to clean pores. Used this method for my head for the first time today with perfect results.

    @WALLACESHITS Před 4 lety +10

    I have used Magic Shave for over 30 years (when the only option was the powder product you had to add water to). You will get better results if you leave it on for like 8 to 10 minutes and use a rubber razor to scrape it off with. A towel is to soft, not "exact" enough.

  • @brandons3692
    @brandons3692 Před 5 lety +37

    As a black guy I use it periodically, but it doesn't take everything off. BUT, if you're scalp is extremely sensitive, it's worth a periodic use if you bump up a lot and have only a light shadow of hair to remove. Also, you wiped it off against the grain, which is probably why you got the rash. Of course, the irony is that's how you get the most hair to come off. lol You also failed to mention the most important part - this stuff smells terrible and you absolutely have to wash your head multiple times to get the scent out. So, it's not suitable for use right before work. This is a weekend use only.

  • @robj2027
    @robj2027 Před rokem +2

    If you're sensitive to razors, you can use a razor to clean off what the Magic cream doesn't because the cream breaks down the remaining hair follicles so it won't become a sharp point that embeds back into your skin. I've been doing this almost daily for years now. If I try to use a razor without the Magic cream, my skin gets completely messed up- bumps and inflammation.

    there aer different typs of these creams, some of them are more powerful some are for sensitive skin which are less powerful. on the places you have thicker hair or more hair you need to apply a little more of it, imagine it as like you want to dissolve something in acid, more you want to dissolve, more acid you need. also you need wash it of with as cold as possible water to don't boost the chemical process to avoid chemical skin burn. and from what i know, plastic scraper that is provided by veet, works much much better than towel, it works like razor without blade, since your hair becomes extremely soft as it dissolves it can bring down less dissolved hair that towel can not.

  • @onemanband86

    I use that cream quite often and the powder as well but with the cream u have to leave it on for atleast 15-20 mins the longer the better actually (of course with out burning your scalp but u will feel when it’s ready to come off)and I never use a towel to wipe it because when u use the towel it irritates your skin due to the chemicals that’s in it and the rubbing from the towel makes it worse because your skin is a little sensitive after u leave the cream on. I use a credit card to get it off.Hopes this helps it really is a good product it’s just the directions are totally wrong lol and the only reason it says it’s formulated for black men is because most black men can’t use a razor so that’s y it’s formulated for black men ,doesn’t necessarily means that white men cant use it, that should be obvious because if white men couldn’t use it NONE of your hair would’ve came off.

    Just like everything in life…it’s not for everyone. However it works great for my bald husband. 7 min may be fine for other parts of the body or if you have fine hair…but 7 min def is not long enough if you have thick head hair. And you most definitely need a Way Way thicker coating!!! You did not use enough on the sides/back of head at all.
    My bald husband has been using the extra strength cream version twice a week for 6+ months now.
    (The first couple applications…his skin was a bit more sensitive so we slowly added more time. But he’s tough lol. Also, if you recently shaved or have a nick/scratch on skin, blemish, etc…not good to use.)
    Anyway…I usually help him apply it evenly & then he does the rest in the shower. He leaves it on for 15 min. (I’ve seen others leave it on much longer up to 30min 😬.)
    You’ll want to use a good quality moisturizing shave balm afterwards! (Husband uses the Nivea Sensitive Cooling Post Shave Balm.)
    Final result is a bald head that is smooth as a baby’s butt 🍑!!!

    I prefer the high quality head shaving products that I use. I start with a eucalyptus oil rub followed by lathering up my barber shop shaving soap. I shave with a relatively decent triple blade razor and finish with a decent balm. Little to no razor bumps or cuts during the process and I'm g2g for the next 4 days or so. Sticking with the razor is the best.

    Quality shave soap, badger hair brush, and my DE razor with Feather blades is the basis of my scalp shave. I go with and then against the grain. I do a finishings pass with a HeadBlade with a dual blade cartridge.
    The DE is great, but not as easy too maintain the proper angle at the back. But the set up is so much cheaper than regular multi-blade cartridges. And my HeadBlade cartridge last me for four to five months as it's barely doing any work.
    I saw this magic creame and thought it would be good for my midweek shave. Let it sit on while I brush my teeth and get things ready for work. However, this video pretty much sealed the deal of not bothering with this product.

      @@Baldcafe If your skins is soft or sensitive, or your hair is not as coarse as mine, then you can shop for a razor that is less aggressive, and as much as I love the uber sharp Feather blades, back off to a more standard blade.
      Some CZcams channels to check out here are KenSurfs (SoCal) and Kevy Shaves (UK). Both go over several razors and blades as well as all the supplies such as soaps, creams, etc...
      One thing KenSurfs is big on is pre-shave treatment. This could help.
      The other thing for me, I started with my face before I moved to trying my scalp. So I was comfortable with the razor and process. The first few times, I nicked myself near my ear lobe. But now, I don't recall how long it has been since I cut myself.

That got all of my hair off after figuring out different tricks, but this brand is formulated for black men. That might be the reason it didn't work out so well for you. Following the directions exactly is definitely key. There are other black men that have adapted to the formula so they can leave it on past the instructed time, but if you use it wrong, you will get burned.

      Just wanted to say again how awesome it is that you and your podcast guests are by coming forward and sharing balding experiences! I’m extensively balding myself; I currently sport a 3 on top and 1 on the sides and back....trying to work down to just taking it all off...it’s just so hard to think about being completely bald for the rest of my life...

    • @Baldcafe
      @Baldcafe  Před 5 lety

      Its tough to take that leap. but not as tough as dealing with all the worry and anxiety of slowly losing hair 👌 good luck my man. more guests for the podcast coming very soon!

      @@Baldcafe Crazy! We get bumps from everything haha. When I use this it takes off all of my hair clean within about 6-7 mins with zero irritation. It’s insane but it’s the only thing that will give us a close shave with no razor bumps. I guess it’s just our tough skin and hair why it works so well, but I get torn up by razors, shavers etc. Your vids are awesome keep it up man I’m hooked! 🙏🏾

    I have been head shaving since 1985 and I hate it. The creams don't work so well. The best creams contain uric acid, which is in urine - piss. They will burn my hair away but the danger is that the cream could get in the eye and damage the eye. Now I use an epilator, which women use to pull hairs off their legs. It works well but it is painful. It is not so painful for me because I have thin hair with shallow roots.

    • @Baldcafe
      @Baldcafe  Před 5 lety

      jaw baw someone asked me recently if an epilator was a legitimate way of “shaving@ the head or not. I guessed it would be damn painful. A lot of people asking about laser hair removal. I try to make it a bit of a hobby, try new creams, razors etc to make it fun.
