1) End "free units". accomplish national doctrine by instead, say for France, offering a second artillery slot, or for soviets, an extra infantry slot to purchase.
2) Add a glossary of terms for units/special abilities/terrain.
e.g. one rule for mountaineers, one rule for glider landings, one rule for barbed wire or minefields.
all would get more use if players didn't have conflicting rules from various books.
3) Parse the wording.
throw words around as if they were manhole covers.
No "can" "may" etc. either an action is optional or mandatory e.g. I set a unit to outflank. must I now outflank, or can I come from my own table edge.
Write it as if it were a criminal statute.
4) Don't neglect the "minor powers." The Big 5 will be in the main book, but the game is flavoured by the minor nations.
Their rules and lists require just as much care and research as do the Big 5.
Cannot argue with any of these suggestions, seem sensible to me.

Awesome!!!! Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the American and German addition and my dad will love the Japanese and Italian additions as well. Also love the "in the mood" song at the end 👍
Have you Seen Bo Mortensens Video "MY Top 10 Wishlist for Bolt ACtion". That was a great One.
looking foward to it so much
I cannot wait, its been due a refresh for a while now.

Any word on the firing smoke rule being updated? The current rule doesn’t make sense. Currently if the smoke round doesn’t land on target the opposing player decides where it lands. The landing point should be randomly determined like it the smoke barrage rule.
There's been no further rules released yet. But I agree, scattering 2d6" would be a much better way for smoke to work, and this is usually a house rule in any tournament pack I write.

All I hope for is Warlord Games is, "don't F*CK it up"
The hope of us all!
I find doing the whole shoot, hit, pen and damage a little confusing time to time. The one rule I like to see refind is calling in air strikes from aircraft, levelling out infantry sections *cough damn germans and 2 machine gun destroying my US troops. Allowing certain covers to reduce damage from flame throwers. Dropping some points to allow players to add more troops or armour to the table. There are probably a few more im forgetting to mention.
“HEAVY tank.” 😂
I hope they organise the rules book and complete a better index, I can’t believe we wont be thumbing through the rules for the first few weeks…..
Agree, while we wait and see, here is an index for the V2 rulebook you can print out and stick in the back of the book: www.bruggies.com.au/Wargaming/BoltActionIndexV2.pdf
@@TabletopTommies many thanks
The iconic phrase, written in big bold letters on the book is, "Don't Panic".
Just don't forget your towel.
Germans need a special army rule that actually has value.
Every other faction has something to build around but the Germans have been given garbage
Artillery units on a flames of war table is already a ridiculous preposition. In bolt action it’s even more so
Indeed, the ranges are ridiculous in scale terms, but as an abstraction and for the sake of rule of cool, I personally can live with it.

BANZAAAAAIIII
Mimicking all my fellow players in hoping for machinegun reworks and expensive gurkhas, but a big thing im hoping will get reworked is the medic, people still find reasons to take MGs, both LMG and MMG, but medics and ESPECIALLY ambulances are just not worth the cost of the space of paper they take up on the list.
When i heard about the new Sdkfz 251 ambulance I became very excited. Hopefully that means they're making it a unit worth taking.
Now I have no idea how to make them better right off hand, but excited at the prospect!
Yeah medics are a very difficult unit, I'd perhaps make them play a part in the overall battle result when it is victory points based on units destroyed. If you managed to get all the casualties in the ambulance, maybe that unit doesn't count...
Jonny
@@TabletopTommies "If you managed to get all the casualties in the ambulance, maybe that unit doesn't count."
Sounds complicated. Maybe have medics remove a pin for a unit that has taken casualties, or give the medics a wider radius of effect.
No new soviet stuff then😥 I'm seriously intriged whast the new army structures and mission building tool is going to be like!!
I'm hoping the scenario building tool will be an interesting way to keep missions fresh but balanced, and I hope there is a still a generic equivalent so you can still just field all your favourite units using the rule of cool.
@@TabletopTommies that would be fantastic, I'm more on the cometitive side of BA and a well balanced tool would really mix things up and add a more fluid aproach to missions🫡
I hope they bin off templates
Sadly it looks like they are keeping them :(

pick-your-own-national-special-rules for all nations (not just GB)
This would certainly add a lot of additional variety to armies!
@@TabletopTommies really would. Potentially making minor viable as well
I'm just going to wait for "Bolt Action 7th Edition....Age of Something or Other"
