    Most boring fight in recent history BUT to put it all on Woodley is pretty unfair. He's stepped up several times and paid his dues against the best, so he shouldn't be destroyed in public like that.

    Dana is just utterly disrespectful. I see why a lot of UFC fighters are running to Bellator.
    Woodley has outsmarted his opponents and neutralized all their strengths. Why the hell would you expect this fight to be exciting when Maia has no striking skills whatsoever? Why would Woodley throw kicks just for Maia to level-change and take him down?
    I think Dana is upset because he really wanted "WonderBoy " Thompson to be champion. I don't think Dana expected Woodley to get pass Lawler!

    It's called Mixed Martial Arts not go slug fight and make ppl happy. He's a smart fighter and honestly the fight was impressive bc if Maia is that much of a BJJ beast and TWood stopped him then what does that make TWood? See ppl wanna see a knock out, but that won't happen everytime. Just ask yourself, if you are in a fight with someone who loves to get on the ground and you know to counter them you need to move, play defense, and jab....then what are you gonna do? Are you gonna say Imma knock him out and hope he don't catch me slipping or stick with my game plan? Lastly, don't forget Dana....TWood is your Champ so even though you not building him with a quote "Mega Fight", you are still building him by adding body's to his belt defenses regardless on his style. So at the end of the day TWood winning bc he's getting paid and will have a amazing resume for fighting the toughest fighters. LOL! Hell! I'll take that too. Sad too see a part owner get pissed bc someone used his Martial art talent, wrestling experience, and boxing skills in the right way to win. Everyone honestly should blame Dana, he's the one booking these guys against TWood. LOL! Smart fighters take less damage, strike effectively, deal damage over the course of time, and take openings when necessary....That is the art of fighting. Not hey let's swing at each other and see who get's knocked out first. WTF!

    • @antoinemoore415

      Jordan Parker ...Exactly, he didn't rush nor be conned into a trap. Yea he may have hurt Maia, but any person with Martial Arts Training has been hurt many times, but with Maia it's different. All he knows is BJJ. So being hurt on the ground actually was a advantage for him and would have given him a chance to catch TWood as he has all his other opponents.

Including Dana. some of these fools just wanted to see Woodley lose his title and were shut down so,their only other option is to call the man boring or say Maia got robbed. GTFOH. I'm with you there, I thought Woodley fought a smart fight against a BJJ expert. And why is Maia not being ridiculed, all he did was back up when Woodley would take shots at him, he did not want to engage in strikes with Woodley just like Woodley wouldn't risk going to the ground with Maia, this explains why the fight was lack luster. I also thought Woodley's take down defense was impeccable.

    What do you expect when you match him up against Maia? He sure wasn't boring against Lawler. Dana is trying to protect GSP, one of his last possible cash cows. He knows Woodley would shred GSP, so he's using this as a way to give him Bisping. Meanwhile there is already an interim champion of that division who just beat Souza and Romero back to back. If he doesn't get the next shot at Bisping the UFC has really become a joke with this interim BS.

    Yep. Agree with Dana. Woodley doesn't capitalize on the openings instead worrying about getting hit/clinched and playing it safe. Has good KO power but he would rather stare and move around to keep the distance. Good for him to keep the championship but when the least number of strikes thrown is a record you break that means he's not doing something right. It feels like he isn't trained to come back from a bad position hence would prefer engaging the least and only enough to get the decision.

    • @Romans8-9
      @Romans8-9 Před 6 lety

      Yes but a fighter still needs to engage, not dance around and not throw a punch for 20 mins. Dana doesnt want MMA to turn into a Floyd Mayweather show. People dont wanna watch boring fights or cards. Dana is a business man first thinking about the fans POV. For that I applaud him.

    • @rorymcnamara1
      @rorymcnamara1 Před 6 lety

      No a fighter needs to think about winning a fight in the most efficient way possible. If winning a fight means dancing around for 20 mins, picking at the other guy, then that's his win. A boring fight is only boring if the viewer doesn't understand the technical prowess or the strategy. I've never watched a Mayweather fight and thought it was boring.
      Dana is shockingly naive with regards to how his own sports work. Like I said earlier, in a sport as diverse as the ufc, you are going to get bad matchups. In a way your comment cements my point. MMA fighters have to look out for number 1 first, because Dana won't and the fans certainly won't.
