Tate High School Showband of the South's full practice run through with hats on 9-17-15. Camera used was a Gopro Hero 4 Silver mounted to a snare drum.
I remember when I was in the Canadian Army Cadets when the music group was preparing itself to get on the parade square they would play their marching rythm in ''silenced mode'' where they would all just play the sequence but by hitting the side of their drums, snares, etc. Sounded kinda awesome.
I have a question , I come from a pipe band background being the lead tip of my towns pipe band , Do DCI drummers ( im guessing this is the DCI style?) not play closed rolls like snare drummers in pipe bands play? I like this style of drumming because it's so different from whats played in Scotland (unless the Top Secret Drum Corps is at the Tattoo).
Yes its a different style of drumming, I played in a pipe band and I thought playing stuff like this is more fun. No offense, oh and the traditional grip in pipe bands are different compaired to what these guys are using. If you what to hear dci you can listen to the blue devils, Santa Clara vanguard, blue coats etc for the dci style you are talking about. I am by no means an expert on this so someone correct me if I am wrong on anything
Hehe I always put my backpack over my stomach and unzip and section and then I put my practice pad in the section facing out and i always act like I'm in. a marching band practicing
this guy is awesome. if you ever see this you are part of the reason I tried for drum line for 5 years... and got it so yeah. Thanks you
Thank You. I have told the snare player from this video. He said congratulations.
