DJsounds relaxed with "the man like" at Ushuaia Beach Club in Ibiza last summer at his intimate residency "Never Say Never". Sasha revealed why he's playing on the beach, how his music has changed over the last twenty years, the balance of the studio and gigging and who he would most like to collaborate with. Having recently redescovering the CDJ's again after a technical melt-down on tour Sasha is now rocking four CDJ's running through a DJM-2000 with all his tracks prepared in rekordbox.
Kicking off last summer with a gobsmacking set at the IMS Finale at Dalt Vila, holding down a handful of sell out dates at Pacha and rocking Ushuaia every week Sasha had a great summer on the island but what of this summer, will Ushuaia bea able to lure him back - never say never....

@hypercatjohn lots of "underground" popular house sounds really flat. I wasnt old enough in the early 90's to experience it but really love the chicago and acid house stuff, it had a good kick to it, fat bass lines and great pianos etc. Even the synths sounded raw, probably because they were produced using hardware. The only thing you can get close to that now is buying deep/jackin' house vinyl...at least i think so anyway :)

@@manicbassa he only started learning to mix in 1989; when you consider that it makes his sets from 1990/91 at the Eclipse & Shelleys even more incredible

I can understand what he means about not nailing the spot .....he has infact outdone himself a few times on mixes and that leaves very little in the way of improving on the same sound a second time.....like Involver2 for example.....there was no way he was going to better that with the third instalment using the same sound..... its almost like he needs to recover slightly from doing such a strong mix.....having to reinvent your sound and still appeal to a fan base isnt easy when your brand is purely musically grounded......something that the David Guettas etc dont have to contend with.
