2 forces of nature coming together like this is very fascinating
I wonder what it would be like seeing a tornado but then having an earthquake happen at the same time
Everyone cheers while I would be like “nope”
I suddenly remembered something I really must doing somewhere else.
Thanks for posting this. Really liked that you included the slow motion version, too. 😊
It happens because the cloud dust are high in static charges and lightning is attracted to that and it hits the volcano because it's the closest thing to the charged particles and in needs to be grounded. It happens at a right place in a right time.
It's so amazing that it happens like that. I can only imagine how ancient peoples must have felt witnessing this erupting volcano also come alive with lightning all around it. No wonder they assigned divine causes to it, how else could you explain such an awe-inspiring sight?
Volcano: **erupts**
Zeus: stfu
Wow! That's really stunning! 😮
What a strange thing to see?I’ve never seen a thing in nature like this, before? You wouldn’t want to be near that mountain 🏔️ top, that’s for sure!
@@bettyleeist It's a volcano actually. Volcanoes have lava inside and they smoke ash clouds and erupt. Mountains are very big and they have a pointy thing on top and it has a lot of snow.
Makes sense - a lot of iron in the magma, giving a clear path for the lightning.
not to mention all the friction of the tiny dust particles passing by each other.
That's quite wrong. Pyroclastic clouds generate their own lightning through massive friction, just like clouds do.
In this case, the negative charges in the ash cloud connected to the positive charges in the clouds above, which made it branch upwards instead of usual downwards, that's a positive lightning, it's a lot louder and powerful, and lasts longer.
@@SirKolass
Thank you.
About time that a genius showed up.
Pyroclastic indeed, my friend. ⚔️
Wow. Force meets force. Nature in the raw. Spectacular catch, 👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
Like an Iron Maiden album cover
No not really. Heavy Metal yes, Iron Maiden not so much. For instance Ram it Down cover by Priest is way closer to this than any Maiden album
the lightning is caused by the volcano not the other way around
@@bonbonvegabon while the storm might be coincidental, the volcano is quite clearly the source of that strike. The initial forking pattern goes upwards from the plume.
@@Pr0toPoTaT0earth is positive charged and the sky negative. Electricity flows from positive to negative. The light travels so fast our eyes perceive it coming from the sky. This was taught in school.
🌋⚡NATURE FACT: The lightning strike was actually caused by a rad dude shredding on an electric guitar🎸 at the volcano's base.
If you do .25 speed @ 0:43 you can see the individual lightning frames. pretty rad
Pretty fantastic sight to behold
Guy that goes “Yeeee” had already foreseen what will happen.
Wow. That was pretty awesome ngl.
😮
0:10 🌋⚡
Fascinating footage 🌋⚡ Great video 👍👍
Those we won't know the vocanic lightning (scoure: Wikipedia)
=>Volcanic lightning is an electrical discharge in the atmosphere caused by a volcanic eruption, rather than from a typical lightning storm. Volcanic eruptions that produce lightning may be colloquially called dirty lightning storms, but the term technically refers only to ash-filled clouds that interact with weather systems. contains ice. Volcanic lightning can occur completely independently of any meteorological interaction.
That was so cool that I paused the video at the beginning, only to realize I didn’t have to if I kept watching it to the end… thank you for the slow mo.
Oh my gosh, that was so bright, like on a screen. But can’t imagine seeing it in real life.
That is so metal
Love the demonic dinosaurs at the end 😂
What this shows, is the density of the material in the cloud. It looks like a cloud but it is actually pulverized solid material. That cloud became the tallest stucture relaitve to the ground around it. This drew the lightning to it. What a fantastic piece of video. The person recording it should be very proud to have captured a once in a lifetime video.
Incredible! Thanks for sharing!
So awsome!
Wow❤❤
The cloud shape like a heart was given life by the lightning strike. Pretty awesome.
Awesome 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤
Beautiful!!!!!
That was epic
Where?
Beautiful 😍
What an unbelievable sight.
Imagine people's reaction to this thousands of years ago
And it was filmed in portrait mode for all of history to see... great.
You can look at it in portrait mode, too, if you just pause it and scroll the time and swipe up as you're doing it, and it will cut it into portraits.
@@Itsmeagain828 I'm lamenting that this is such an incredible moment, instead of having a full screen video for the future to witness, it will forever be formatted for a mobile phone.
Imagine being that close and feeling all that power around you
Does anyone know what volcano erupted?
Thats the most incredible thing. How rare is this!? What are the actual odds of lightning striking and a volcano erupting at the same time. Its like a once in 100 lifetimes event. Maybe even more
Where was that?
One benefit of living close to an active volcano: your house does not need a lightning arrester.
Wow that is one of the cooler things I've ever seen. Right on!
I think it's lightning from volcanic activity, though there is a storm going on around it. The lightning bolt jolts up into the cumulonimbus (thundercloud) above it because of polarity differences.
Beautiful
0:13 Ohhh, that is some CRISP thunder... 😍
WOW...!!! AMAZING..!!!
And they say lightning doesn't strike twice.....!? There was at least 8 individual flashes in that sequence! Incredible!
If you play the video back in slow motion, it actually looks like the lightning came OUT of the volcano, which is 100% possible. There is scientific evidence that supports that lightning can, in fact, form inside a volcano's plume.
@@AK-47ISTHEWAY I've seen footage of volcanic lightning. But it stays within the volcanic cloud. I've never seen volcanic lightning interact with the sky.
This was a cloud to ground strike that just happened to coincide with a small eruption. The volcanic cloud was not big enough to generate its own lightning. But it sure did look incredible!
The Volcano Started The Lightning I looked at it in slow motion frame by frame amazing it when to the clouds.
Nature is just incredible. Wow.
So which is hotter?
can only imagine teh true sound on top of this mountain and having lighting that close
Considering the delay of the sound, this was filmed at about 1,2 km of distance.
The volcano made its own lighting.
Powerful 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Lightning really said "GTF back in your room, who said you could come out?!" 😂
The power of nature is impressive
All the static from the volcanic ash . Super cool
THAT IS SO COOL
That’s not lightning striking a volcano. That’s a volcanos lightning striking the clouds.
That’s incredible
0:10 Clash of the Gods!!!
Spectacular!
That’s insane
Very cool!
Just incredible!
Awesomeness.
It's actually coming FROM the volcano.
Volcanos often create lightning with all the particles they stir up making static.
Such an interesting video. This should be shown in many science classes around the world.
Now that was impressive 😊
Wow
Full video please
Most epic rock, paper, scissors game I've seen yet
This is NOT a lightning strike at the volcano. This is an upward discharge from the volcano. You can tell by watching the lightning branch from the source, just like it always does.
Wait. Why is everyone waiting next to a Volcano looking to erupt
Nature has the best fireworks displays.
This wasn't "lightning strike" from an external source; the static from the eruption causes this.
Well done video! Slo-mo and all!
That came out of the volcano. It’s an awesome phenomenon.
Mayon!?
The Pyro Archon & The Electro Archon initiating the Overload reaction 😏
That was neato.
This felt like those aliens in War of The Worlds ‘reawakening’
The volcano was not struck by lightning, per se. This is a ground to air discharge, not air to ground.
Thor: Hold my mead...
Volcano Giant: 🤯
Thor making sure Sutr is staying in Musepelheim 😂
All of a sudden there are lightening strikes on the tops of volcano's just before, and as they erupt?? I'm 50 yrs old and I never saw this on the news, which I've been watching since I was 8, 9, or 10.
Watching this on .25. Amazing for different reasons than one might think :D
Soon as the Cloud Dragon Appeared, That's when they all Knew 😮😮😮😮😮
Cameraman Never Dies
Oh my
Awesome
Job 38:25 Quien repartió camino a los relámpagos y truenos?
it's like Thor wielding his Mjolnir and giving energy to that angry volcano
I've played enough video games to understand that a boss is gonna spawn after this.
Correct
❤
absolutely 👍
“You *dare* challenge me?”
Possibly chitulu I think he's called 😂😂
