It was surprising that nintendo worked with playboy of all people to promote this game, they probably could of done better are far as reaching a wider audience is concerned as a guys nudey mag isn't the most ideal way of promoting a game.
No, Nintendo did not buy Platinum, nor do they own Platinum. They only funded and published Bayonetta 2 and 3, and the Wonderful 101, the Wii U version.
