This is how a review should be. Lots of information, concisely delivered, and great quality audio and visual. Can't fault it! The wheel looks very good - I want one!
What a great review, Rob! 👏So refreshing to finally see a wheel that not only nails it on the hardware itself but also has some really clever features on the software side - love to see it!
Dope review! In the future you should consider trying out a Pokornyi engineering DIY wheel. You can spec it top to bottom as gucci or as budget as you’d like (I spent way too much money trying to build my GTEv2 as nice as possible lmao)
this was a great video. I sense a brand new huge sim YTer! this was amazing quality, great video editing. audio amazing.
An excellent review Rob. I have just installed my XR. Buying it and having it shipped from Istanbul to New Zealand could not have been easier and despite a few issues attaching it to the Simucube QR (entirely due to the wheel side QR conflicting with the 70mm SC star plate) I am just loving this wheel. I have been using a 28cm wheel and the extra diameter and the 5” screen real estate are a joy. The integration with Simhub is truly next level.
tell me when u wanna sell it i’ll buy it off u anytime i live in nz too and i need want one so badly 😂
Excellent review with very clear and in depth explanations: liked and subscribed 👍
Very detailed review, loved how concise and detailed your information was.
Great review. I especially appreciated the mention of the manual. I have a Simagic FX pro and I wish it had a manual. Not a huge thing but at the same time it is.
I bought this wheel... OMG. It puts a smile on my face everytime I use it. Best ad to the sim rig.
Cheers man👍🏻🍻
I noticed that the label for each rotary lights up something I wish my Hper P1 did
Awesome looking wheel. 👍
Great review, thank you! Would you recommend this over the GSI Hyper P1? Would love to hear your comparison.
I think both are great wheels but the features and comfort of the XR outperform the Hyper P1, and it's about $300 cheaper if doing an equal comparison with the carbon fiber paddles and 6-paddle options on the P1. Both are phenomenal build quality, and both look great in my opinion. The larger XR screen is nice to have and I definitely use it more than I used the screen on the P1, plus the integration of Soelpec's software with the screen is awesome to have. Overall I do pick the XR as the winner.
@@robclarkracing Thank you!
@@robclarkracing how does the grip size compare? have a hyper p1 on order, tried a rexing mayaris and they were too small for me. looking for something pretty close to the simagic gt neo if you've used that before
Good review. I’ll personally never be able to afford a $1600 controller for a game. But if I had a lot of money I’d def love to try one.
Never say never! If it's what you want, you can work toward it eventually. But also, high-end gear is not required to have fun in sim racing!
Which wheel will you recommend the Solpec or the hyper?

Thanks I’ll go for the soelpec then I’ve been contemplating for a while and I needed some comparison somewhere but your video and comment has help me to decide. Thanks again
What wheel bases is this wheel compatible with?
Since it has its own USB connection, you can use it with any wheel base that has a 70mm pattern quick release system or that you attach one to with an adapter. Simucube, VRS, Moza, Asetek, Simagic, Fanatec, etc. To the best of my knowledge it won’t work with a Logitech or Thrustmaster (although maybe there’s an adapter out there), and it’s only compatible with PC (no consoles).
Okay that’s awesome thanks for that. I’m looking to get a MOZA R16-21 so that helps a lot!
@@brendancrawford3507 Sure thing! Here's the QR you're looking for to connect any 70mm wheel to the Moza bases: mozaracing.com/product/moza-quick-release-adapter
which is better Soelpec or GSI Hyper P1?
(Mostly just copying my response from another comment) I think both are great wheels but the features and comfort of the XR outperform the Hyper P1, and it's about $300 cheaper if doing an equal comparison with the carbon fiber paddles and 6-paddle options on the P1. Both are phenomenal build quality, and both look great in my opinion. The larger XR screen is nice to have and I definitely use it more than I used the screen on the P1, plus the integration of Soelpec's software with the screen is awesome to have. The thumb encoders are much easier to use on the XR, especially with gloves - plus the ability to set two functions to them / overall compact design is great. Overall I do pick the XR as the winner.
Thanks mate Rob, appreciate much. I am more leaning towards Soelpec even before watching your vids coz some youtubers did not mention or compare anything between soelpec and P1. I became more curious when you said on your video that soelpec will be your everyday wheel replacing the p1. hehehe
Considering that you have both, if you have time mate make a video comparing those two hehehe. thanks mate.
$2000 is way too much for a sim wheel.
I am sorry this has to be a 10k profit compaired to the entire process it takes to make the wheel.
Well this wheel is priced at $1612 - the "close to $2000" price point was referencing other wheels like the GSI Hyper P1 (spec'd up to $1910) and Precision Sim Engineering LM-X (spec'd up to $3017). Super high end wheels are certainly expensive, and not for everyone - I won't argue that haha
