- Reports that Prince Harry was in negotiations to step in to help the Royal Family while King Charles received cancer treatment sent ‘alarm bells’ ringing for the Daily Mail Royal Editor Rebecca English.
She tells this week’s Palace Confidential that while Harry might be open to the idea - and the prestige it would bring - there are plenty in the Palace who don’t want to see it happen. Richard Eden also points out the ‘rank hypocrisy’ of Prince Harry giving interviews slating the royal family one week, then adopting a much friendlier tone the next.
Meanwhile Richard also looks at reports in the Daily Mail that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal could be coming to an end and asks, what next?

There is a huge difference in William making a humanitarian plea and fool Harry pretending to be a working royal in Canada representing the crown in issues that do not concern him, and he had no place in.
As a British born Canadian having the privilege of citizenship in both countries, and being a staunch monarchist, there is absolutely no way I want Harry and Megan in either of my two countries. They are a despicable moneygrubbing pair.

As a Canadian, I am appalled by how Meghan and Harry treated their family, especially the Queen in her final years. We loved the Queen. It must have been stressful final years for her. I feel sorry when I think how hard it must have been for her.

I think that's the right path for the long term precedence as well. Having titles granted and then tinkered with out of personal offense isn't just tetchy, it diminishes the grace and favor of the monarch that grants them. Media outrage can never be the basis for rearranging titles and peerages, for then they become truly politicized, utterly subject to this week's popularity contest. In that scenario, the monarchy is degraded and all honors and peerages with it. I am Canadian. I personally support the Monarchy. I was heart broken when the only Queen I have ever known, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, died. I will not forget the disloyalty and shameful behaviour that “Just Harry” showed towards his grandmother (and his grandfather) in the latter part of her reign. In my opinion, Just Harry and his tag-along wife, Meg are shameful human beings and I’d like them both to remain south of our Borders. Further, I would like to say that I commend Prince William for his humanitarian speech regarding the the middle east. I do not believe it was political in any way. I would also like to send my best wishes to King Charles II and Catherine, The Princess of Wales for a full and speedy recovery from their illness/surgery. Thank you.

Who cares??? They left the Royal Family and England for better times in the US - but someone needs to bring to their attention the fact that this means that they need to actually GO AWAY!!!! When you quit your job you don’t keep trying to come crawling back. I would never support them returning to royal duties. As a Canadian I was quite distressed to learn that Harry was meeting with First Nations Chiefs to discuss aboriginal affairs. We have KingCharles lll as head of state, an elected Prime Minister and a Governor-General in the person of Mary Simon, an Indigenous person, she is Inuk. I can't imagine that any of these people were thrilled to have Harry meddling. He was here to publicize Invictus, not sent as an envoy by the King or our government. As far as I'm concerned, the less we hear and see of him and his Missus, the better off we are. Where they go, chaos usually ensues.

Trudeau didn't show his face at the Invictus events because he is loudly booed and called out everywhere he goes in Canada. He spends very little time in country, and we catch glimpses of him dashing from buildings to cars surrounded by a lot of guards. I’m another Canadian that loves the Royal Family and does not welcome Harry or his wife into our country! Their behaviour towards the Royal Family has been disrespectful and unwarranted. They continuously lie to make money and their timing is always when a member of the Royal Family has been sick or gravely ill. We do not want them to continue to be the Patron of the Invictus Games Canada 2025 as they centre these games around themselves instead of the wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women that these games were designed to help.
Harry and Meghan have to be reminded that these Games are a Charity, and they should not be compensated for their time, travel, security, accommodations, food, clothing or other wise.

Had Harry and Meghan not needed money, Harry would most likely never made the offer of coming back into the fold. The late queen knew her grandson very well when she said in or out. I’m glad that prince William spoke out about the situation, as a father with three kids he is concerned just like we all are. It’s the children that are affected in this war good on him for doing this .

The myth that they want their own country is but a red herring, meant to distract from their real goal. What about the Israeli children who were kidnapped, with God-knows-what done to them in those tunnels? What about the ones who had to watch on, in horror, while their mothers were gang-raped, usually on top of their murdered fathers' bodies? William need not step out to compete with the column inches of his brother. Be bold within the confines of the crown. Yes, there were boos for Harry and Meghan. One group also sang God Save the King which Harry and Meghan seemed to think was great but I don't think it was intended as support for them. While at Whistler, Harry also stated he had spoken to First Nations leaders and was setting up more talks about Reconciliation. He demeaned the work of Canadian politicians in this regard and acted as if he was speaking for the Crown. As a Canadian, I have to ask what can the Palace do to rein him in?
Love this show, never miss this particular weekly episode and am now realising just how clever and skilful Jo Elvin really is: Manages to have a laugh with all the royal specialist, has great chemistry with everyone and never ever speaks over the top of anyone. She asks her questions and then patiently lets the answers unfold for us all to hear. Sarah might like to take note.

Having had cancer treatments involving chemo, radiation, etc. it was hard but at times you feel a little better it is nice to have distractions to focus on re your job as it makes you feel a little normal. Cancer patients miss their « normal ».

Another Canadian here .... For years, in the Court of Canadian Citizenship, I was gratified to hear New Canadians taking the oath to "... uphold Queen Elizabeth, her heirs and successors." Heaven only knows what kind of atrocities PM Justin Trudeau has done in that direction.... In my part of Canada, spring is arriving. As the snow melts, there are small heaps of organic matter becoming evident. IMHO, M&M are similar heaps, as big as they are. At least in my part of the world, M&M would not dare to appear without serious protection. Not guns or rifles: they're not worth the bullet. But barrage of well-aimed heap of 'doggie do-dos' would more accurately convey the spirit of 'British boos.'
