God keep this little family safe! Their marriage, band, and music is based on truth and love and it leaks out everywhere. I haven't been this excited about music since 1970.
what a wonderful sounding. Unique
Well said. They are indeed a national treasure, and I hope they continue to have joy making others joyful for a very, very long time.
I cant even imagine living the live of Derek , having a woman that fully understands my taste in Music, even making that Music with me on tour,AND successfully, children etc.....i mean - why go to church and pray for heaven after death - this is heaven on earth
you're damn right, dude.
You said it perfectly. Took the words right out of my mouth....although I was 3 in 1970. lol!
The best, hardest-working big band in America. Maybe the world.
What a great band led by such a nice couple. God bless ‘em! Rock on, Derek and Susan!
I can't imagine either of them with anybody else! The soundtrack of their home is gotta be glorious! I Absolutely Love Them Both!💯👏👋
Humility in music. Rare, yet so refreshing! This is real music from very real people.
As a guitarist, and one who travels and plays with his wife (bass), what I really appreciate about this couple is their genuine love for what they do. Family that plays together... and all that. So unlike pop music "stars", these guys are in it for life.
I'm fascinated with this couple & group. Susan has a lovely speaking voice, but when she sings, man she just kills it! Thank-you for putting this together!
I don't know where I've been! I just found these wonderful people!! I'm a fan for life!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
It is so refreshing to see two people love and love one another so much you can almost feel their love, didn't realize their
children are 9 and 11. Derek has to be a awesome dad just as he is an awesome guitar player, and to really put that cherry
on top he actually has a sense of humor. Two awesome people with an incredible band, please let their light continue to
shine thru, keep them well keep and keep making that awesome music......
Susan is another great talent to come out of New England. those of us living in the northeast were privileged to to follow her from the very beginning. We knew early on that she was A gifted performer.
Fantastic talents and killer band. Susan's "rasp" is like no other. :)
Love this couple and this band.
So good!
So heavy.
I have not been in love with a band, since the 70s, that was the Allman Brothers Band, I cried when I first saw them, these folks were the second band too move me to tears, Long may they groove together and produce a lot of love !😎!
They carried me through covid…so blessed to have seen them 11 times in less than two years! Can’t wait to see them in Reading Pa!
OK. Love, love, love these two. But I gotta say this: I sincerely hope that their two wonderful children somehow, someday, find a way to understand this: you have the most amazing parents ever. I say this will full love and amazement to my own wonderful parents, but holy cow....what an amazing duo. Bless all of their family, in band and in life. Peace.
gives you faith in real music again .. love them all
Amen, Y'all! . . . Amen. 🙏 They're the Coolest people in Music, seriously. Love them to pieces! ❤ 🙌
My new favorite band ever!
I am in my 50s and consider myself to have an eclectic taste in music, but for whatever reason, I didn't stumble across this band until relatively recently. I saw them play at Wembley in Feb 2020 and it was one of the best live performances I have ever seen. The chemistry displayed on stage that night, is apparent also in this interview. They love each other and they love music. Beautiful to watch
Wow I am so glad I found this video!!
There are no words to express the infinite respect I have for these great people. I have said it a million times and I will say it again how I feel their music is so medicinal to me. Their music is medicine. it inspires me, it soothes my soul...
so much respect for Derek and Susan.
Amen, nuff said
Came here to know more. Medicine is Medicine. "Honey, don't punch that." Also you don't say how much you love the Allman Brothers' music anymore.
Agree completely. They're very special.
I turn 65 in a couple of weeks and Derek and Susan both have done more for my health than even Duane and the boys did starting back in '69. I saw Derek at what I believe was his first guest appearance with the Brothers at Lakewood Amphitheater in Hot 'Lanta. He was like 9 years old if I remember right. Maybe a little older, but it was obvious even then that he was a phenomenon. His SG was probably taller than he was if he stood it up on end in front of him, but he finessed that thing into submission when he strapped it on.
My wife and I both have our phones loaded up with DTB, Susan's solo work, TTB, ABB both old and new, the last long stretch being with Derek year in and year out. One day I downloaded some live Clapton in 2007 and heard Derek's slide wailing. Talk about the off-shoots of Duane's dream coming full circle! There was no doubt it was Derek. Later I found out that it was from a show that Eric had professionally video recorded and I've seen the whole show several times by now. I see this is a pretty old interview, but it's nostalgic for me every time I see or hear the music of either of these wonderful musicians and people. The Road Goes On Forever..... No tellin' what magic this couple's kids will bring to the ears of the participants of the next revolution in music. I know it will be awesome. Love y'all!
First band that I have been excited about for a very long time. Such beautiful music, time and time again. An amazing group of incredibly talented musicians. So happy I found them.
God bless you and your family, Derek and Susan, you are an amazing couple and amazing musicians! Love from Greece!
I look at this, and remember how much fun and what it meant to me. Having the band, around me. Those were some sacred times to me.
just plain awewome.
For me, it started with Delaney & Bonnie and Friends w/ EC (& GH) in 1970. Dropped back to pick-up Cream and Traffic and then went forward again with EC and then ABB soon after Duane died. Big Leon Russell fan as well. I like hard-driving well-constructed electric guitar playing with a versatile (and larger) band. Had lost all hope during the 80's and 90's, but then George died (RIP) and the landmark Concert for George restored my faith. Three drummers at the same time!!!
I'd had the album since it came out, but didn't realize how great MD&E was until I watched it on You Tube (since removed). Happy that Leon made it to R&RHOF - so deserving!
SOOOO, I had heard of Derek Trucks but never listened to him. And I lost track of ABB because Greg had become pretty un-inspiring.....I'd never heard of Warren Haynes.
I had never heard of Susan Tedeschi either. But when TTB played in the area where I live a couple of years ago, I went. WOW!! I'm firmly hooked and know that indeed there is a God after all. Who else could bless as with the phenomenal talent in that band...other than the discerning ears of Susan & Derek. And they are married; what a hoot. It doesn't get any better than this!.
Jim Brooks I too was blown away by the three drummers in the Concert fir George plus the wealth of simply great musicians playing, I love listening to Billy Preston and seeing the acknowledgements from others in the band. I also love to watch Ray Cooper on percussion what a guy. I only discovered Derek after watching him play in a concert with Clapton how lucky was that ! Anyway music is felling my life at the moment which can’t be a bad thing.
I never knew how I would ever be able to listen to real music after Leon was gone. Thankful to have stumbled on this fabulous idea of everything I could hope again for! Stay safe & strong TTB family!
Loo
Two truly amazing gifted artists, thank you both and keep doing what your doing! 🙏👍❤️
Wow, wow, wow....thanks a bunch. Beautiful!
Genuine, nice people!
Amazing ever Derek God Bless family amazing music ever thank you
Susan's speaking voice is just tiny bit different from her singing voice, lol, wow, love these two and their music!
When you hear her sing, then hear her speak.........It gets me every time. (lol)
Saw them last night at the Ravinia 6-21-15 awesome show ! Amazing band
we appreciate you and your hard work going on tour. Susan I think you hold back too much with the merge. I'd love to see you cut loose next time we get the opportunity to see you live again. Your band is a great success. How could it not be with all that talent. (3 members used to play with Eric Clapton) You ALL shine bright. More please.....
The best slide guitar player in the world. The best female blues singer in the world. Combine to make the best I've ever heard!
This world is so good ,thank you for this !
It's so rare to find an excellent vocalist and an outstanding guitarist team up. I can't think of anyone recording now that is better on either dimension, the two of them together are just fantastic. This is my favorite group making music right now. They remind me of original Allman Bros some outstanding individuals but they also really gel together as a band.
much respect for this woman. love this band
"Love this couple and this band"
I 2nd dat emotion wholeheartedly. I feel blessed beyond words that they exist. The love and connection is of a certain profundity that it's almost strange, kinda mildly unsettling. Like we've been familiar to each other for a mighty long time. A mighty long time.
I love this band and the musicians in it,great music.
I just found these guys-gal last week and wow they are a great band.
Don't know how I never heard about them.
Besides the obvious(talent, music, writing,&songs) this interview shows why I LOVE this band so much. These 2 are just so grounded, same as with my favorite band the Allman's.
One of the most refreshing band in years! Right on! Thank you!
Pure talent, Sky dog would be proud!
Wow I just love this couple so authentic in every way and yes indeed let God keep and bless them and their music family
What a beautiful couple!
I've loved Susan since I first saw her live at UCONN and I appreciate Derek combining his prodigious talents... Simply Awesome!
Just saw them last night at Tulsa's Brady Theater. They blew everyone away.
Such a great band. And I love their family values.

It has to be completely cool to connect on that REAL level!🕊️🙏😎🌳 Rest easy KB
Amazing how quant her voice is in this interview but when she hits the mic it's so booming and powerful (yet delicate).
Really need to get into this band, like now.
My God they are so inspiring.... I am so glad this is happening.
This is a great band! I have seen them twice live! Thanks for sharing your gift of great music with the world.

+gary laubscher I'm with you on this. 65 and sometimes wonder about the future of music. Groups like Tedeschi/Trucks make me feel good about music's future.

BEST IN THE WORLD......
Love them.
Worth following to the ends of the Earth...
Love this band
I love watching this now and seeing how in just 4 years how much the band has evolved, see ya'll at Red Rocks with Marcus King!
Well, I just discovered this band a week or two ago (thanks to Paul Jones' fabulous blues programme on BBCR2 here in the UK) and I just wonder WHY I didn't know of them before. But I do now and I think they're truly the business. Strength in every department and obvious enthusiasm, energy, and group feeling. A blues guitar player myself, I'm totally in awe of Derek's playing and is there a better female blues singer around than Susan? But what's so marvellous and really impressive is the terrific quality of the rest of the band, singers, musicians. And to top it all, Derek and Susan seem such genuine and lovely people. All good wishes to them and their wonderful group. Keep on Truckin'!
Such a great band all your hard work really shows
I love the music from TTB. Please, do more music in this way and I will hear it to the end of my life
Outstanding performance!

One of the best young guitarist in the world 🎸🎸🎸👍👍👍💎
I'd like to hear them do something with the Stapletons.
Have there ever before been such a constellation of love and music before I love it?
A truly marvelous professional band who create and play good music without all the BS of the drug addled fools who "lived" and died before them.
Love the band listened to the Double CD while driving all over Europe lovely.

I first saw Derek on St. Simons Island Ga. playing with a band in a club called Rafters He was maybe 15 and playing his ass off blew be away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
You guys keep it up as long as your marriage can handle it. I have a lot of respect for both of y’all. Derrick you’re amazing at what you do man and Susan not only are you gorgeous I absolutely love your voice. Man o man.
Their marriage is none of your business - they are more secure in their love and devotion together than you think
Susan, I'd run the boat up the river in Pittsburgh to hear you n BB play. You joining with a legend..as long as you don't beat him up, is fantastic. Yer soulfull wailing, his slide..yinz make it breathe.
The greatest band currently touring.
He's scary good and she's certainly in his league. Great band, great musical standards. Hard to go wrong.

YOU GUYS GOT IT GOIN ON !!!

There's only a few bands I would make an effort to watch these days. Tedeschi Trucks Band is definitely one for sure. When is your band making up to Toronto , Ontario Canada again ?
Susan has the sweetest speaking voice but, when she's singing, well you all know!
Lucky kids!
Amen, No Uncle Butch no ABB for that young man. Really great guitarists out there. Have some fun on stage dude.and quit knocking other players.
I miss Oteil !!!!
I was all ready to gripe about the age difference, but they were made for each other.
+Brenda Susan Capone-Barnes ,, yup...I agree
Brenda Susan Capone-Barnes what is the age difference? I remember him as a guitar prodigy in the 90s. How old is she? I just found them and love their work.
Lisa Mcdonald she is 8 years older than Derek
@Moto Guzzi and Derek knows that a WILF is better than a MILF - basically because he is not a pervert.
Honest-yes... Hello!
