- The Chairman of FIA was in Bangkok to listen to a Thai Bid for the Bangkok Grand Prix Formula One. The Grand Palace in Bangkok would be an excelent stage for a Formula One Grand Prix Street Race at Night.
In 1939 the Bangkok Grand Prix almost took place, organized by the famous Prins and Racedriver Bira. I drove the track that would have been the route for the 1939 Bangkok Grand Prix.

Here's a video of Bira driving his race car at Ratchadamnoen road in 1937. He was very popular among Bangkok girls at that time. 😂 czcams.com/video/MgZMxH20Irc/video.html
Thanks Jeroen! Always good seeing you.
I had a chance to unload Prince Bira 's "Romulus" racing car made by E.R.A. (English Racing Automobiles) from London to Bangkok in 1988 (via Quantas Airlines) for celebrating 60th years of the Late KIng Rama IX 's birthday with perfect pristine condition. It was blue color which Thai people called "Blue Bira". He won first rank of racing circuit in Europe for 9 times including with lots of racing matches during his time and also named as "Golden Star Prince" from Thai people. He was the first role-model for Thai people who loves racing with speed. FYI.
Prince Bira was the Formula One world champion for two consecutive times and a world war broke out. and he was an auxiliary pilot in the British Army. before returning to compete again after the end of World War II He still became the champion. Equal to being the Formula 1 World Champion for 3 consecutive times. In addition, His Majesty is also a sailboat racer with excellent skills.
The price is a great story and driver. Never an F1 world champion though.
Latest update on F1 in Thailand 🇹🇭: there have been talks between the Thai PM and the CEO of F1 Group about possibly building a race track in Rayong near U-Tapao airport 🏎️
Under ground tunnel
so amazing cool air.
Thanks Jeroen for this video. Nice to hear that you are watching F1 and support Max and Alex of course.
Where is it possible to watch F1 in Thailand? Are bars broadcasting races?
Would be awesome seeing F1, F2 and other cars race through Bangkok!
Yeah, F1 is widely shown in sports bars around the city. Normally it starts around 8 pm so the time is good to watch.
That would be Great a Grand Prix in Bangkok. 👍 hij won in Zandvoort de GP in 1948, maar dat zul je ook wel hebben ingelezen. 🙏
Thank you Mr.J. whenever i am stressful i like to watched your videos and to be honest it's made me clam and feel relaxed 🙏🙏🙏. Thank you again
Thank you for this comment, love it!
Thanks for the update Jeroen 😃👍🏼
The race track in Pattaya is named after Bira.
There's no way they could use that road outside the palace. They'd have to remove the trees and lamp posts and maybe the kerbs. It would be like Monaco where it's a historic race held on an unsuitable track just for tradition.
Interesting story about the 1939 Bangkok Grand Prix
Ciao jeroen ..i remember 13years ago king bhumibol during a race with redbull F1🏎️ in the loop at ratchadamnoen avenue 🔁, democracy monument and after the pilot Mark Webber showed him the car technology with great reverence 🙏..
Love Formula One. It would be great to see a race in Bangkok. Thanks again. Great video! 🏎️🏁🇹🇭
Love it❤❤❤
Nice content khun Jereon.
Great Video Idea!!

Enjoyed watching jereon and reading comments,,,,,,,peace and happiness 😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you for sharing and updating. We love this area.👍
Formula 1 in Bangkok? I'm not sure if I like this idea. Anyway money makes the world go around. Have a nice day khun 🚴
Wow that will be great, I’m F1 and Thailand fan ❤
Finally...daddy is come backkk...to Bangkok.✌️
O, yess. It would be great to see Max racing there😀
Super track, super ride
ฉันชอบวีดีโอคุณมาก❤
Tbh, I always pronounce your name in Thai “Jaroen(=Charoen/เจริญ)“ your name quite similar to Thai name😊
I did not know Bangkok almost had a Grand Prix before.
the grand palace complex looks so much bigger than the forbidden city in Beijing..
Nice vid... i really wish they would be able to make this happen. Was great to see redbull and f1 racing doing drifting down that street back in 2011 or 2012 i forget what year exactly. Just an FYI, I believe the contract that is being sought out by thailand with F1 is not for formula 1 racing but rather for the new season (future) of formula E . I really don't believe this will ever come to fruition as the infrastructure in bangkok is not capable to handle the influx of what will come with the races by way of spectators.. would be GREAT THOUGH.. 🎉
Have you ever made a video about the Ghost Tower near Sathorn Pier, a not finished building from end of the 90‘s, Sathorn Unique is the official name of the building. Would be great if you make a visit there. 😊

.....you may knew ,
Once Redbull team Mark Webber show run at Rachdamnern Rd. Bkk 2010(I think). You see in CZcams
Really hope it’s a joke, not F1 near Grand Palace please, anyway the temple you showed was beautiful 👍🏼🙏🏼✌🏼☀️🇹🇭
Don't do it Bangkok don't do it that is not a place for a Grand Prix race
