That's awesome. This really works because you're neurologically controlling the length of the stretch, not mechanically moving it past the length it should be going. Consistency with it produces the best results.

Hi, I'm 69 yrs old and ,while otherwise active, have had very tight hamstrings and low back pain for decades.
Over the years I've tried many different h'string stretches and have found your
method to be not only the most effective but also the quickest and easiest to do.
    Thank you

I just did 5 cycles for each leg and the difference is there! Not a gymnast yet ofc, but it's more than I've accomplished in months!

I’ve seen various people for help and have been following a rehab program at my gym, under instruction for two months, with little benefits to my back. I’ve followed your instruction today and for the first time in an age I am sitting comfortably with no pain. This is either a miracle or you’ve found something very special. All I can say is thank you and I will be continuing with this exercise.

@Vatos75 good question. I think the neural mobilization is an important piece to this, and Active Release Techniques, but to say which is more important is difficult to say. Are you familiar with other soft-tissue treatments like Graston? I like those, but the thing I like about ART is that the patient moves the joint and improves the strength/neurologically controls the antagonistic muscle.

@elhnad - passive resistance is what prevented additional hip flexion. This is not an example of ART, but I am a certified ART practitioner. ART would likely accomplish a greater stretch because it'd apply mechanical tension on the hamstring with simultaneous contraction of the quadriceps. This stretch is great to do between ART sessions.
