Honestly, as a person who watches Serie A every season, Mourinho has barely any fault. Roma completely screwed the market in the first season, forcing them not to spend anymore on the transfer market for the next 2 years. And not only that, but the squad never truly followed him: half the goals they conceded were due to players who refused to track back, to return and defend. Roma was in a situation identical to Tottenham last season: players tired of defensive, counter-attacking football, who stopped to follow him, and he also recently lost the Roma fans, who got tired of his defensive football. Edit: watching all the disinformed, wrong and resentment based comments makes me appreciate even more Josè, imagine being that great, that even supporters and common people try to spit on your name out of pure resentment for what you achieved and did.

Just because someone is your favourite manager doesn't mean you shouldn't be biased. I love Rafa Benitez but he was finished as a Champions League calibre manager when he flopped at Real Madrid and he blew it at Everton. The last few years has been the most open Serie A has been in my lifetime and Roma couldn't even crack Top 4 once. Europa Conference Win and getting to Europa League final were achievements but this is typical 3rd season syndrome for Jose. He will be fine and will get another managerial role soon but he hasn't been the same since 15/16 (same as Rafa coincidentally)
People just overlook the achievements of people like Sir Alex Ferguson to justify all this knee jerk stuff don't they? Alex Ferguson's way of doing it was to win some smaller trophies first and then try and win the bigger ones. That's generally the approach to putting confidence into a club, just to get used to winning for a while even if it isn't winning at the highest level. Put an ethos in the squad where the players expect to win enough. That stuff takes time, especially in what you said, a very competitive league currently. He was building up Roma slowly but managers just don't get that amount of time anymore, a European trophy and a European runners up spot should show definite promise. That's something a club can then assess whether promise is worth getting behind or not, but when was the last time a Roma manager showed promise? Probably Spalletti way back who went on to deliver in his promise with Napoli all these years later. Mourinho started off pretty flush, he built a team spirit at a club with no money and Benfica didn't go to plan but it didn't do anything bad to his reputation then he went to Porto and built a good team spirit, Porto however, are at least flush by Portugal standards so he could get whoever he wanted at that level. Then he went to Chelsea and his era of being a checkbook manager truly began and he was pretty much always that until arguably Spurs, Spurs seemed like a club that might want to be built up but they chucked him just before he had the chance to instil a winning mentality. Now at Roma he was at least doing that. If Alex Ferguson was getting the time he was he'd look far less glamorous now, because people don't get time anymore.
Absolutely. As a Chelsea fan I grew up idolizing him, even now I'd take him at Chelsea much as I know it would be a really stupid idea (and we can't afford many more of them atm), that's my depth of feeling towards him that'll never go away, but their comes a point when you have to let go & call a spade a spade. Something happened to him in Spain, he came back to us a different man in 2013. The confidence had been replaced with this dismissive, bitter outlook towards everything & he'd become a whiner - not a fighter! It's really sad cos in that 1st season at Roma you can see how powerful his presence could still be, he's a natural leader who understands people & how to connect with them when he's not his own worst enemy.

This happens to every coach in any sport. In the NFL, two of the longest standing coaches were just recently let go because both of their tactics just don’t work anymore (and also due to their age) But it’s always good to hear new voices in a locker room to shake things up and get new philosophies in there
Just finished watching your last video and was about to comment “can’t wait for him to react to Mourinho’s sacking” and then this showed up in my recommended
Roma are 9th in the league with players like Dybala, lukaku, Tammy, Belotti, Pellagrini, Renato Sanchez. If he can’t do better than 9th with a squad like that after 3 years he deserves to go
The squad is not that good Renato isn't even in good form and half of those players are always injured. If Dybala wasn't made of glass they would've won the final against Sevilla
@@nickpeitchev7763 I remember that final, there was nothing wrong with Dybala in it. Jose just took him out even though Dybala was their best player... Sevilla beat them cause Jose made a stupid decision
To be fair, Serie A seems to be surprisingly balanced in that part of the league table. Look at Napoli, they've plummeted a lot in these weeks, yet they're still a couple wins away from Champions League football
I’m probably going to be hung for this take, but I think Jóse may want to consider taking the United States job. It’s a Copa America year, we have a squad that has young talent, and there wouldn’t be pressure to win a major tournament. A five year contract would give him the opportunity to change the culture of the USMNT, giving them an actual playing style that would dominate North America, and maybe we could even advance to the World Cup semifinals. Still find it more likely than him getting the England job 😅
As much as i like Mourinho, i get the feeling that he burns his players out. He will get the best out of the team for 2-3 years but then you either have to turn the roster over of change managers.
He's a hypocrite and always has been. He was happy to call out City and Chelsea for their financial abuse of football, but the moment his beloved Newcastle got bought by one of the most despotic regimes in the world, he's all quiet. It's better to not have expectations
Bro roma spent 15 million euros in 2 seasons, 15! The only players he was able to bring in were loan moves and free transfers. Pep would have not done any better with that roma squad and the resources jose got
@@Hero-of-Midgar Ranieri won a league title for Leicester. Should he have stayed in the dug out? And 9th for Roma is not normal, they normally finish top 6 every season
@@danielmcallahan inter brings all of their players for free and are destroying the league. Attack that has lukaku, dybala and belotti should at least be in top 3 in any league
@@mach4518 Ranieri winning the league is the exception, not the rule. He was lucky to have a whole bunch of unknown yet very talented players, as well as the fact all the other big clubs were shit that year. Hell he got sacked the season right after that ...
Jose is a old school manager. Today's new footballers are weak. Jose demands 100% commitment eat sleep drink football. Most players don't do that anymore
José gets sacked by "bigger clubs" but is always hired by bigger clubs, there's nothing to worry about Maybe the issue was Roma expected something like his time at inter José to wolves and O'Neil to Ireland, or maybe he can rescue Seville in Spain reunited with Ramos
Do you think its something wrong with mourinho? like behind the scenes? or maybe players don't like him? It's weird that he's getting the sack (as a tottenham fan it's confusing to me too)
I think he lost the dressing room. We had a bad start to the season, had some good form, then lost slavia Prague and it went downhill. Not to mention that the summer window did nothing to improve our team. I hate sacking managers but how we were playing Jose was on track to getting the sack.
As soon as I saw it come across my facebook feed about Jose being sacked, my first thought was "Someone check Irish Guy for a wellness check"......... Hang in there, lad!
You know your PR is great when you can spend milions, be ninth in the league where everyone except Milan and Juve sell best players every year and it's the clubs fault. Third biggest wage bills in the league on old and injured prone players because he pissed out 130 mil in the first season (50 on Kumbala and Shomorodov alone) and still there is a urban legend that he didn't spend money. Only disgrace is that he didn't get sacked before
Mourinho is done. He and his fanboys need to accept that. His tactics don't work anymore, and he's not the same manager he was during the Chelsea days. AS Roma have arguably been getting worse every season. They lost to Genoa 4 to 1 and lost to Milan 3 to 1. He can't keep making excuses about squad depth. This comes down solely to his tactics.
yeah sackimg was excpected but no fucking way they got worse with jose, before joining they got the conferance leauge spot hardly, but in next season he won the said title and very next season played the eurpean leauge final (beating xabi's leverksusen along the way) even though this season he fucked hard doesnt makes his earlier seasons shit
As a Milan fan, Roma haven't beaten us in 8 games, 5 wins and 3 draws, and if he's getting out coached by Pioli then he seriously needs to evaluate his approach to his tactics.
To be honest that Roma team is mid asf they have players like Dybala , Abraham (when hes in form),Pellegrini,Lukaku other players are just not champions league or champions caliber.
I mean if Jose wants to wait a season for the MLS, he can be the star manager San Diego FC in their inaugural season that would be awesome to see. Also though he deserves to be at a higher position with a better club
transfer budget my ass, he made Roma spend all of their money in his first summer sessions and then proceeded to make them pay ridicoluos wages for over 30s or injury proned players hiding behind loans and free transfeer to make their budget look smaller. Roma is consistently the third squad for wages in the league and it is closer to Juve (the first one of course) than Ac Milan (the fourth one)
@@pietrovitale9940 lool what a bunch of crap, wait until the end of the season and see then where they will finish, and blaming the financial situation on Mourinho is crazy
@@vasicretu1970 the fact that De Rossi is not a coach is not in contrapposition with the fact that Mou failed at Roma, it means that they both sucked. The financial situation is also Mou fault, as I said the results on the field didn't match the spending output starting from his wages. Realize that Roma is a second tier team that should survive on player trading and the market value of the team decreased steadily under him, basically all players lost value. Of course he is not the only responsible, the GM is also leaving by the end of january and the fans are getting fed up with the owners, but a big part of the market strategy was to give him the kind of players he wanted, like Oliveira, Matic, Lukaku or so on, expensive players who only lasted one season with no profit forse Roma. Renato Sanches won't even last the full season probably
@@pietrovitale9940 I am talking the squad as a whole, you can bring Pep in that squad and would not do much better. And Mou was a success at Roma, he won them a trophy, something they didn’t do in 14 years and bringed them to another final. I don’t see that squad do anything of that for the next 5 years atleast.
Ya sorry buddy. Even the Roma fans didnt want him there, and you can see why. Theyve gotten noticeably worse despite the money spent, and play boring football. Roma were tired of playing bad football only to be midtable
Sadly, Jose Mourinho, like his rival contemporary Rafael Benitez, plays too defensive football for todays football fans, which is sad because great defense is what makes attacking football exciting.
The trouble with Roma is they was always a top 4 team for so many years and they dipped and Jose just couldn't fix the issues 5-6 years ago he may have taken Roma to the top but with what they have the Roma board just want to throw the blame to any where they can . I've watched been a fan of Roma since totti but after we lost our top guys many years back I don't think any one can fix this unless they can bring in more players and not just on loan ( dybala was obviously a great move ) but no matter who they get they are going no where with out money ... Which they don't have , make totti the manager 😂
They were only a top4 team when the Milanese clubs were in their banter eras, as soon as they came back and started taking away 2 of those 4 spots every year, Roma hasn’t been in the ucl since..
José should come coach the US cuz jeez we need a coach and he will have at least 2 tournaments to do well. He will have time and he is a serial winner. He could bring the USA’s golden generation major trophies like the Copa America and World Cup (ok World Cup might be too far but we are hosting in 2026 so that will give us a boost). He has said he wants to come coach in the US and now is the perfect time to
Golden generation? I mean maybe for the US but your squad isn’t great to be honest. I mean, you got knocked out of the last CONCACAF by Panama. I am looking forward to heading out there in 2026 though, I’m sure it’ll be a brilliant tournament
The fact that The Irish Guy predicted Roma to win Serie A three Seasons in a row is just.. jokes

@@nickpeitchev7763 Spurs wasn't as great as Roma and Man Utd but he did get them into a cup final which Levy stupidly sacked him for
Mourinho has been sacked five times but somehow it's never his fault?
Irish guy 😂😂
I mean the only Club which did better after He left was Chelsea. I mean Look where Spurs and Manu are now.
@@abdelhassangawaru9347 *man crashes car into wall and then runs away* ..."it wasn't my fault...if it was my fault, why is the car still crashed?? I'm not even there anymore!"
If he can’t do better than 9th with a squad like that after 3 years he deserves to go
Wait and watch them drop
The squad is not that good Renato isn't even in good form and half of those players are always injured. If Dybala wasn't made of glass they would've won the final against Sevilla
@@nickpeitchev7763 I remember that final, there was nothing wrong with Dybala in it. Jose just took him out even though Dybala was their best player... Sevilla beat them cause Jose made a stupid decision
@@tasbhu764 jose took him out because he got injured dummy go back and watch it
To be fair, Serie A seems to be surprisingly balanced in that part of the league table. Look at Napoli, they've plummeted a lot in these weeks, yet they're still a couple wins away from Champions League football
Couldnt wait for this video
I would love to see him get appointed as manager of the island team just to see his reaction
Idk if it’s what the USA needs, it would be a massive improvement over berhalter, but idk if his style meshes well with our player pool
Usmnt needs players to match his demands and his quality. Usmnt is simply not good enough.
Been looking for this since i saw the news 😂
As much as i like Mourinho, i get the feeling that he burns his players out. He will get the best out of the team for 2-3 years but then you either have to turn the roster over of change managers.
I really hope these owners don’t sack Eddie it’s not his fault we’re 10th but I could see this happening tbh😬
Please do
I really hope they don’t sack him too. So we can get Mourinho instead once they give up on Poch
@@AbdulB he’d be a good fit at Chelsea, 3rd spell
As soon as the sky sports notification came up, I knew Irish would talk about this ahaha
was waiting for this all day
He just got red cards for Roma and sits 9th he practically wasn’t there anyway😭😭
I was waiting for this video😅
Guys why does he hate Gary o Neil so much😂😂😂.
Welcome to Brasil oh Special One! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Your love for Jose has you not seeing the fact that he's no longer at the peak of his powers and honestly, its ok. You'll get over it
The one we’ve all been waiting for!
Jose being sent off is "passion". Yet if it was Poch, you'd call it a disgrace
He's a hypocrite and always has been. He was happy to call out City and Chelsea for their financial abuse of football, but the moment his beloved Newcastle got bought by one of the most despotic regimes in the world, he's all quiet. It's better to not have expectations
I'd love to see Jose at Newcastle one day. But not now.
It would never work, but id love to see the chaos of José at Palace 😂😂
I like this video. Good very video Guy
What a shame . Roma would have finished in the champions league places but they missed up.
This is a very weird sacking, especially in situation when they forced Lakaka on him.
When I saw the news earlier that Mou got sacked by Roma, I just knew Irish Guy would make a video about it, and he did not disappoint! 😂
I love Jose, but clearly his tactics and strategy is obsolete. Having such a good players in his Roma team and sitting 9th in serie a is a DISGRACE
He won a trophy for them, and they're only 4 or 5 points off champions league places
11:41 ay………FUCK you we need him more then any other club on that damn list.
4:33 that reference is brilliant
Jose is a old school manager. Today's new footballers are weak. Jose demands 100% commitment eat sleep drink football. Most players don't do that anymore
José gets sacked by "bigger clubs" but is always hired by bigger clubs, there's nothing to worry about
Maybe the issue was Roma expected something like his time at inter
José to wolves and O'Neil to Ireland, or maybe he can rescue Seville in Spain reunited with Ramos
We knew this video was coming. 😂
I hate sacking managers but how we were playing Jose was on track to getting the sack.
typical 3rd season for Jose. Lost the dressing room.
As soon as I saw it come across my facebook feed about Jose being sacked, my first thought was "Someone check Irish Guy for a wellness check".........
Hang in there, lad!
This is the man who can finally get Norway to Euros/WC 😂
You know your PR is great when you can spend milions, be ninth in the league where everyone except Milan and Juve sell best players every year and it's the clubs fault. Third biggest wage bills in the league on old and injured prone players because he pissed out 130 mil in the first season (50 on Kumbala and Shomorodov alone) and still there is a urban legend that he didn't spend money. Only disgrace is that he didn't get sacked before
The character arc is impressive 😂😂
He can join us at Ajax in the summer
As soon as I heard the news, I knew that this video would be out by the end of the day 😂😂😂
As soon as I heard about this, I KNEW this video would come.
This comes down solely to his tactics.
yeah sackimg was excpected but no fucking way they got worse with jose, before joining they got the conferance leauge spot hardly, but in next season he won the said title and very next season played the eurpean leauge final (beating xabi's leverksusen along the way) even though this season he fucked hard doesnt makes his earlier seasons shit
sorry for the shit grammar
As a Milan fan, Roma haven't beaten us in 8 games, 5 wins and 3 draws, and if he's getting out coached by Pioli then he seriously needs to evaluate his approach to his tactics.
To be honest that Roma team is mid asf they have players like Dybala , Abraham (when hes in form),Pellegrini,Lukaku other players are just not champions league or champions caliber.
@@janoycresnovic8411 especially without Dybala they are completely useless
Absolutely shocking… 😮
I mean if Jose wants to wait a season for the MLS, he can be the star manager San Diego FC in their inaugural season that would be awesome to see. Also though he deserves to be at a higher position with a better club
Gary O Neil is an actual good coach. Getting rid of him for a washed and beyond finished José is an abysmal footballing decision.
I knew morinhou's favourite son would post ....and alas I was not disappointed
Imagine Mou takes the Ireland gig and confesses Irish Guy was the deciding factor...
I agree with Jose to England yeah it would be great to have an English manager but no one that would right now are half decent
Eddie how for England, Jose for Newcastle, who says no?
It's worse for the Sweden NT we nearly got Ole Solskjær as manager crazy
3:26 alright irish guy like you can say much!
Given the transfer budget he was working with I didn't think he did all that bad.
transfer budget my ass, he made Roma spend all of their money in his first summer sessions and then proceeded to make them pay ridicoluos wages for over 30s or injury proned players hiding behind loans and free transfeer to make their budget look smaller. Roma is consistently the third squad for wages in the league and it is closer to Juve (the first one of course) than Ac Milan (the fourth one)
given the players they have, he should be doing much better.

Irish Guy had a rough week, first Newcastle, then now his daddy got sacked.
3:10 Ranierie actually was the Roma coach, when Jose wont the treble with Inter.
It’s the third season! We knew this was coming lmao
Ya sorry buddy. Even the Roma fans didnt want him there, and you can see why. Theyve gotten noticeably worse despite the money spent, and play boring football. Roma were tired of playing bad football only to be midtable
There’s more chance of the Irish Guy’s cat managing Ireland than Jose Mourinho managing Ireland 😂😂😂
Yes SPAL are now in Serie C
When we saw the news we knew this video was coming
😅 Yep, knew this was coming...
Half the goals they conceded are from Patricio errors or Defense calamity
Mourinho should coach Pistoiese, since their titatic struggle with Motherwell they've hardly been a factor.
Sadly, Jose Mourinho, like his rival contemporary Rafael Benitez, plays too defensive football for todays football fans, which is sad because great defense is what makes attacking football exciting.
This means we are gonna see Mourinho as a pundit for the rest of the champions league, hopefully.
It was his 3rd season at the club, it was going to happen.
Next Ireland manager 🇮🇪🙏
Jose at england would be so refreshing
If Roma now gets into the Top4 then TheIrishGuy has to do some serious explanations
Disgrace must be football youtubers favorite word after crisis
Portugal 🇵🇹 Looking at this like 😬
And he has won something everywhere he has gone, even at Man U, unbelievable
Not snottenham
I think when ten hag gets the sack mourhino will be appointed
Who do Roma think they are? 🤣🤣🤣
