This sequel to the original makes sense, one example is his training with Nakano takes place after his wife died of old age and he travelled the world to learn new things, and that explains why Connor was very skilled in using a Katana in the first movie because Nakano trained him. The producers and director successfully managed to connect the events from Highlander 1 and Highlander 3
This movie should have been the real sequel to the original. A shape shifting wizard who who isn't like him yet wants to syphon his power and steal it for his own, and constantly running with each other in the past and finally find themselves in the current time.
What was great about this is they played it like Highlander 2 never happened
What they should of done was not have the gathering in the first film, if it had been the climax of the dual between Connor and the Kurgan and being nowhere near the gathering they could of taken it wherever they wanted to go from there. But I guess they didn't see it becoming as popular as it did, still the first movie will always be the best highlander story, Connor will always be

If the are remaking it like they claim they should do that so sequels will actual make sense.
Highlander would probably work well as a limited TV series - a story taking place over the course of perhaps six to ten hours, and maybe having not one central character but several. The Gathering would feel really weighty when characters you'd been following for many hours across many centuries of story finally faced each other in New York, with rivals settling scores, friends having to face off against each other etc.
Highlander was a stand alone film. The only way it could have worked is if they had made a prequel. Learn more about Connor's past before The Gathering.

Shhh!!! Stop making sense. Instead it was better to try anc retcon the first which made no damn sense.
They could have made a movie after he first about dealing with corruption in the world and him having to battle that corrupt leader and fixing the world once and for all. Sean Connery - Patience Highlander you have done well but it will take time.
The original highlander is one of my all time favourite movies, but i do enjoy this one too from what I can remember of it. It's a pity about end game and the rest. You gotta admit though, that if a new highlander movie came out it would be pretty obvious how it was gonna end. I mean surely it is bound to end with a sword fight and the villain dying by decapitation.
Endgame is the best sequel.

I just don't understand why they didn't keep 'The Sorcerer' subtitle.
Messed up part is, me and my friend went to see this and none of the trailer was in the movie.....all cut.
Then you watched some other movie, NOT Highlander 3: The Sorcerer/The Final Dimension. The only thing in the trailer that was cut from the film was Nakano's line of "Some say he's the devil himself". I think you're confusing this with Highlander: Endgame
yeah, confused it with endgame. The chopping the bad guy in half and him dividing in 2 as well as some other bits from the trailer were cut. That movie took serious liberties. Granted I prefer Duncan over Conner but Im well aware that Conner has to be the last one. FreddyKurganNimmo

Van Peebles owned this film and was nearly as good as Clancy Brown.

Worthy sequel? Watchable maybe. But worthy? All that magic stuff, Connor not realising that he never won the prize and the fact that the movie fucks up the continuity by ignoring it´s predecessor (which sucked badly but still a franchise needs continuity to be taken seriously)....

Wasn’t there a comic book where Kane used magic from the cave to make MacLeod think he won the Prize and forget about him? Should be anyway.
Everybody is trashing this movie, but honestly I really like it, I like the 2nd one, I love the story and Connor Macleod I idealized him as a kid and it made me a very serious student of the sword, I think Lambert is a great actor and brought something to the character nobody else could have, I just wish he'd perfected the sword and martial arts like Paul did, I prefer to think it didn't end in the first one and just meld it together myself, the only one I won't recognize is endgame, they could of done anything but kill Connor. But as for the rest of it it's all just good head chopping fun !!! :-)
The reason it (#3) is a bad movie is the villian is basically the same as the first movie (he even does the same voice).
The reason the 2nd movie is a bad movie is that they made them aliens, which was STUPID RetCon.
The original movie is awesome. Sorry Christopher Lambert, there should have been only one...movie.

Love all highlander movies even the TV movies and the TV series is mint so is Duncan. I don't care about plot holes it's just fantasy not meant to be real. I just love the world and the lore that's all 😊

Carmina Burana by Karl Orf… we studied it in Music at High School, it’s great, this bit in the trailer is the first part of it. But the rest of the whole piece of music is good too, and the final finishing end to Carmina Burana is great.

Just two actually and they were in the tv series continuity. This actually was the final chapter in the film continuity. You owe them your ass.
