I have raised puppies and kittens from birth. They all grew up to be good pets. So these people lied about why they killed the puppies. It sounds like they don’t know what they are doing, shame on them. If you want the puppies to learn good dog behavior raise them around another dog. It doesn’t have to be their mother. They apparently lack the knowledge to care for puppies appropriately. How sad!

@janine7509 I think it also came down to cost and not enough foster carers. Imo

Yeah I thought it was kind of shameful. they want to make sure that they dont release problem animals into the population. if they become too much to handle, people who adopt will bring them back. they may have multiple owners and so on. they dont want to take the chance. I agree with you. There are plenty of very good pets because they bonded very early on with their human. They are more trainable, but can be a little possessive. it takes a little more time with the animal to train it up to good behavior. And they were so healthy. Why could they go into a multi dog home and learn some dog behavior that way?

Those pups would have died anyway. So, it’s euthanasia or dying slowly in the sun. Which? We don’t know what kind of dogs they would have become. But we need to trust that these type organizations do everything possible NOT to euthanize.
Those 5 pups were going to cost a lot of money to get to adoption stage. Then to find out that they’re not family approved nor safe? Then what? Euthanasia. These are the nitty gritties of pet rescue. Not all find a forever home nor have a happy ending. I volunteer at our SPCA. The euthanasia’s that come in are heartbreaking. But it’s our duty to protect them and make life decisions for them.

@pantera5548 Do you know how CZcams comments work? You don't need to spam reply. Also, fat dogs can be healthy, yes, but not for long when there is no good milk for them.

Yes, owner of the puppies is not a good human but to put down those healthy puppies becomes your fault because they are now in your care and I call bullsh*t on them not growing up to be good dogs because of no mother. That's not truth.

  • @pantera5548

You sit there and blame owners that left them without the mother how the heck don't you know she might have died or got lost you don't know but you blame should be on yourself for killing these puppies murders on you they could have lived good lives

I know you have to have rules, but it seems to me that euthenasing healthy puppies is not the answer. nor is assuming that people are unwilling to adopt disabled or chronically ill animals. I love your program, but the number of animals you MUST euthenase disturbs me.

I completely agree..saying they were 3 weeks old but if they were 4 weeks they could foster them out..fgs ONE week will not make any difference to their personality..they're puppies !! And no way would growing up without a dog mom make them aggressive or possessive..watch shelters that rescue groups of puppies..l watch them and there is never an issue..unfortunately l have found the SPCA have an aggressive stance on euthanasia..one little problem and that's it..the other week they euthanized a pup because it had mange..yes it takes work to get the pup well but it could have had a good life..same with severely starved animals..because it takes time and effort they just don't seem to want to bother..very upsetting..

Ich kann das nicht nachvollziehen. Die Welpen waren gesund. Es gibt keinen Grund sie zu töten. In Deutschland würde eine Tierschutzorganisation sicher anders entscheiden.

People have been dumping puppies forever. Even though they are to young to be away from their mum. . There are fosters who will look after them until they are old enough to be adopted. I think they deserved a chance to live.
As usual it's a POS owner who's fault it is that they are dead. Their mum looks after them 100% until they are 6 to 8 weeks old. So why throw them away like rubbish. 😰

I can see why you would euthanize, the unfortunate thing is any dog can be trained in the right mindset of someone. You can teach them that early with a foster dog mom, especially when they just lost a puppy or multiple, so they can be good parents for the pups.

They need to have a female dogs who have had puppies previously or even a desexed female dog that has maternal instincts to help with under age puppies and ppl.who can bottle feed them especially in the case of the pups they said where 3 weeks old

You just didn’t want to care for the puppies - which for what you claim to be is a problem. Adding more totally avoidable body count. Shame.
