Critics are responsible for their words dear one. You are a ray of sunshine! I so appreciate your skill and very obvious gift. Thank you for sharing. You inspire me!
You are such an amazing instructor! Thank you for not talking continuously or blasting music. I really appreciate your calm style and simple painting method. So glad I found you...happy holidays!!
Here! Here! The blasting of music on videos is SO annoying.
This is EXACTLY the type of tutorial I've been wanting. Have you ever considered doing one for every season? I'd love to see what you do with fall, spring, and summer foliage!
Oh, how I've missed your great tutorials! I've been very ill but finally well enough to paint again.
About the mistletoe berry comments....people are just displaying their knowledge. They want to be seen for being a knowledgeable person and appreciated (or something else that will meet their needs) for having gained and for possessing knowledge. That’s all. No reflection on you. Loved watching this. I love foliage. Beautiful and simplicity
Or ignorance, when I saw them I looked it up and learn a new plant.
I enjoy your instructional videos. I learn so much. I paint botanical flowers, berries, leaves, etc. However, many times I need to relax and have a little more fun and I am not so particular in exact color, edges do not have to be so precise. I hope you do not get too upset with people people ready to make negative comments whether it be the precise color, etc. You have so many people who love your tutorials because they are so relaxing and we learn. You do a fabulous job. When I am notified you have done a tutorial, I will always check it out. Before I attempt any tutorial, I watch the entire tutorial first to see what you do. I do this in botanical tutorials as well. Thank you so much for all your time you take to help we aspiring painters.
blue berries over here my fav color...some purple too its a lot of fun to change things up keep them coming Emma your the reason I have so much fun painting in the first place you Rock!
This is beautiful. I think this full page with this delightful layout would make a very nice gift. And red mistletoe berries are a thing. Not to mention, as you pointed out, you’re not doing photo realism. So the berries could have been painted blue! Love your tutorials. Always! ❤️
Use acrylic paint for realism! 😂 Watercolor is whimsical. However, I still struggle with peonies .... they always turn out like roses. Soooooooooo frustrating! 😒
@@ericakauffman5786 Me too, but hang in there, Erica. I just keep practicing constantly. I still can't paint an ocean wave--I've done 57 of them! But I'm with you!
Love your tutorials. You’re my favorite!
Beautiful! Your teaching style is the best. You teach in a way that makes me confident that I can do this. I’m going to give it a go this weekend and see what happens. Thank you for posting such great tutorials.
This may sound odd but when you mentioned your hand is a bit shaky, it is so encouraging for me because I have hand tremors. I desperately want to paint and don't want my tremors to be a barrier. I've been trying your tutorials and am seeing progress with practice. Thank you for being you.
Brenda Collins Deeks no problem! I also find painting more loose florals and abstract pieces are great for that. There’s not as much detail involved where you feel like you have to be as precise with your movements. Just let go and paint! Also, lots of people really love loose painting styles. Keep going!
Brenda, I fight hand trembles too due to serious asthma medication. But like Emma says, just let go, go loose, go FUN!
Brenda just have fun. When my hand trembles I start small and keep getting bigger and bigger as it steadies but above all I won’t stop painting because I enjoy it so much
Just go for it

Me, too!
You do a great job teaching. People as super critical. I taught ceramics for 10 years. You do a great job.
I love your work. I’m cracking up about the pine needles. I make pine needle baskets and watching you draw them will probably help me make better baskets. Your work is exquisite and you make it look so easy but certainly relaxing. Calms me down. Noe to control my out of control hand. Thank you.
Emma this is sooo beautiful! I love ALL of ur tutorials! I totally agree with Debbie Buttars!! Everyone sees art in a different way, and for anyone to critique what color is your painting your berries is ridiculous! Everybody should appreciate the fact that they don’t have to go onto a site and pay money to learn beautiful artwork like you make! Thank you thank you thank you, especially taking the time away from your adorable son! I totally appreciate every minute you take making these videos! Liz E😊❤️🎄
Emma I love your delicate touch with the watercolour brush and your natural sense of beauty. And your calligraphy is adorable - you’ve inspired me to learn how to do modern brush calligraphy with Becca.
Red, white, who cares. It's your art. Love your work!
Thank you for these tutorials! You've made starting watercolours less intimidating for this beginner. I've started practicing to paint my holiday cards this year. Holiday greetings from Toronto! Edit* It was actually great to see how to create the illusion of white berries on whitish paper. It looks like magic!
Emma, thank you so much for these amazing tutorials, they are so helpful and easy to follow. I love how you say: " so easy" I just started painting last year and I painted 40 xmas cards. I could not believe I did it. I want to keep making xmas cards although it January. I have lots of leftover rectangle pieces so I will keep making thank you cards, etc. Thank you and I have shared your tutorials with my friends.
People are so petty, giving grief over colors chosen, love ur style, keep being you!
That's what art is. People who said that have no clue.
Like Bob Ross always said, “In our world, we can do anything we want”!

So fun to watch & listen as you explain as you go. Thank you!
Twenty-five + years of by the book acrylic painting had me terrified of watercolor. I've watched three of you videos. Ordered what you recommended. Since COVID & my age prohibit me from going out, I've now painted birthday and Christmas cards for my granddaughters. Having a ball. My Stroke teacher would be so proud. You've made a loose woman of me. Thank you for contributing to my sanity.
Love this winter foliage tutorial! I was able to snag two Arches watercolor paper pads for 60% off at Michael's on Sat after Black Friday. I've been using Bee paper and I've never had Arches. Thanks to your videos, I'm ready to move up to the good stuff. Thanks for taking time away from your family to help us learn to watercolor. And please don't let those with negative comments get you down. Just scroll on by, that's my motto. They don't deserve your attention. The rest of us do! Hug that little boy for us. He's so precious!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I’ve just come into painting at the age of 59 and I was struggling with holly leaves. You’ve really helped! Have a beautiful safe Christmas and stay safe like we are in Melbourne after a long lockdown. My creative side came out because of it so I’m not complaining at all! Thank you 🙏🏻
You are one of my favorite on watercolor painting tutorials! Thank you for explaining the colors you use, techniques, and layout. It is inspiring and I want to go and paint! Love watching you🥰❤️
Emma! Beautiful tutorial as usual. I truly appreciate all you do for us loyal watchers and learners. I wanted to say a special thanks to you for putting both the U.S. and Canadian amazon links for all the products you use in the description. That is extremely helpful. As a Canadian myself, I find it frustrating that we’re always being directed to Amazon.com by most artists, so having the Amazon.ca links is greatly appreciated. 👏
Emma, you are simply the best. I follow your artistry every single day. You have taught me so much and in so many brilliant ways. The fear factor in my work has totally left my spirit. You taught me how to fly ever so freely. May the learning never end. I love every stroke I attempt. Thank you. We learn by errors, all are fixable. I never knew that before. Keep on rocking it out.
So beautiful! And just so you know, mistletoe berries can either be red, white, or even pinkish in color depending upon species. So YOU DO YOU! 😍
Emma, enjoy your watercolor videos and happy, gentle nature. I painted pinecones for the first time today. Thank you for your tutorials 😊
omg, I do not know how to draw, but I really love how you explain and make everything look easy. Love it!
This was a very helpful tutorial especially for making Christmas cards! I say this every time I comment but you’re such a good teacher. You’re also humble and kind and very personable! ❤️
Oh thank you I am new to art but am loving it. My creators have changd up already but you remain. Authenticity.
That little tyke looks like you! Precious!
20:22 wow, love your technique and a huge thank you from this novice
Mistletoe is amazing
BEAUTIFULLY DONE!!! And thank you for showing how to paint holly leaves so easily! I struggle with those. Great job, Emma!!!
Truly can’t convey how much your videos are appreciated! I refer back to several as I work to get better with watercolor. And this video is an example of one I will use a long time for reference as you’ve simplified how to do the foliage many of which were giving me great difficulty in visualizing. Always so grateful for the time and skill you share with us!
Dear Emma, you are exceptionally talented. I’m blown away with your art. You make it look so easy, but it would take years of practice to get anything to look like you end up painting. I’m going to give a go at a few small things, although I suffer from a slight tremor I’ll keep trying. Thank you 🙏🏻 for sharing. Stay well and happy 🥰
I enjoyed painting along with you today.
Emma, I am so thankful for these videos you posted in the past. They are serving as much needed inspirational and learning tools during the quarantine.
Well Emma let me brighten your lovely day by saying that your version of mistletoe is one of the most beautiful I have seen yet. This is how I will be doing my mistletoe this Christmas season. Thank you for sharing your talent and your sweet real down to earth personality with us. Much love and respect girl!
Emma, I love your painting style.
I admit that sometimes I get a little "itchy" because when it comes to plants I feel like I need to make them as accurate as possible, then I realize that I don't want to be a botanical painter - not enough patience for that detail - and that artistic license comes into anyone's painting, and I look at the process I'm watching and can calm down a bit and just enjoy learning.
I wouldn't take anyone's comments too much to heart because, sadly, many of us type before we think. And it is a weakness to think that we are always right and need to point out to others that something is wrong.
Please keep up the good work.
Love how you began with basics and then put them all together for the beautiful wreath.
Absolutely fabulous. Great teacher you make it simple for us and beautiful. Thank you from Tenerife x
This tutorial is sooo incredibly helpful!!! It’s one of the first things I did when I started to paint!! Thank you so much!!
Emma, I totally agree that mistletoe berries (or anything else) can be any colour the artist chooses! If anyone doesn't want to see anything that isn't totally realistic, they can go stare at photographs because they obviously DO NOT HAVE the soul of an artist!
Every piece turns out beautiful 💚
Love the mistletoe ❣️
Beautiful depth! All the little tweaks add up to a beautiful result❣️🥰
Love all of these! Look so “do-able”! Thanks so much for the tutorial.
Emma I am just beginning my journey into watercolor. I love your tutorials they are so helpful and creative. So even though it was 2 years ago when you published this it is still finding new viewers like me! Thank you for being out there for people who need guidance, like me! BTW you little boy is darling!
So gorgeous. The magnolia branch is so luscious looking. I think my favourite is the ghostly white berries on the mistletoe. LOVE those. So subtle and beautiful and everything I love about watercolour. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Absolutely beautiful work. I’m a new subscriber and have been binge watching all your videos. I love how you really explain how to create these images. Thank you for sharing your talent!
I love rewatching various ones when I am struggling she makes it all easy again 😍
Ruth Walton agreed!
I'm also new ang binge watching.
Emma this came at the perfect time and you have inspired me to paint again! I recently did make the gift tags and cards with the mistletoe and I loved the RED berries and used them in my creations. It is amazing to me how these souls hiding behind their keyboards, and who probably don't even remotely understand the time, effort and energy it takes to have a channel and produce consistent video (with editing) feel like they have some sort of right to critique anything. I love your work, and like I said you truly do inspire me! Thanks!!
Great tutorial...simple and straightforward...love your method of teaching...
Thank you so much for this video! I enjoyed painting these as my very first full on, watercolor project on my first watercolor paper/art book! It was so much fun and I loved learning watercolor techniques along the way!
Also it was so ironic because my toddler son was throwing a tantrum for hubby as well while I was painting along to your video. 😬😒
It's a very nice Christmas art. I learned a lot about the delicate movement of the pen. I am happy to meet your work! I'm looking forward to sharing with you. Thank you, my friend!🎄❄️🎅
I found your videos randomly and i appreciate how skilled and carefree you are with water color. every single piece you do inspires my every atom. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
What a beautiful boy! Once again thank you for the clear, helpful instructions. You rock watercolor.
I tried this one and it's such a good start to building foliage on Christmas cards and good for practice work :) it looks beautiful too when finished. Even easy to follow after a few glasses of wine 😂🙈
These are so beautiful!!! And depending on the type of mistletoe the berries can be white, pink, or red so you were fine with red berries.😀
The only reason everyone thinks theu are white is they are sold and portrayed along with red holly berries. I wrote the same so hopefully whoever wrote the post about them will see and Emma will oaint us sone pink ones next😂😉
@@ruthwalton3457 I would love to see her paint it with pink berries!!
People love to act like they know absolutely everything 🙄
Viscum cruciatum, commonly called the red-berry mistletoe, is a species of mistletoe in the family Santalaceae. It is native to Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Portugal, Spain, and Syria : I found this in about 5 seconds. People should Google before they speak.
Just in time for the winter season! Thank you! Your encouragement as you are painting is wonderful!
Just beautiful! Love your color choices! You make things look so easy....can’t wait to try your samples! Thank you, Emma!
Lol, it's your mistletoe, you can make it whatever color you want! You go, girl!
Thanks for showing how to do each element and then how to bring them all together in a composition. Just beautiful!
Amazing how you do everything so fast and free and it actually comes out looking good!
Thank you for such a clear format to practice the various winter foliage. This tutorial has been my go-to not just for form, but for color mixing too.
Hi Kim! I love her winter themed tutorials. I think you'd really like my watercolor tutorials as well :)
You are so talented with using colour and form. I love how easy you make it look, and I'm learning from you, but I will have to practice for a long time to do this with the ease that you have. You are super-talented! I thank you so much for your tutorials!
Loved the tutorial, wanted to get started painting watercolor. Just what I needed. Thank you! 😊
Love your tutorials, for the helpful painting techniques, and just for relaxing entertainment and ideas.
You have the cutest little helper! Thanks for all of your tutorials! Merry Christmas

I really like you and this channel. I’ve been painting with acrylics for a while and am just getting into watercolor. You make these so easy and you talk just the right amount! Great instructions too. Thank you.
I enjoy what you do a lot Emma, thank you! Love watercolor
This is just lovely and encouraging. Thank you and Happy Holidays.
Thank you one again for the wonderful tutorial. I was struggling just this afternoon with my Holley leaves! Wonderful tip! Thank you again for all your time and talent!

Fantastic tutorial as always! I always feel hope when I watch them! Thank you 😊
Beautiful work! You are a gentle, kind teacher. I am learning a ton! Also, thanks for the tip on Bee paper. I'm making Christmas cards with it. Such fun!
I love your tutorials ! You Rock
Thank you so much. I love your videos and how easy it is to follow along and how you make painting easier. I like the breakdown on the images.
I was at a loss to figure out how to do white berries. (I followed one of your tutorials the other day). But yes, red is absolutely beautiful as well!! Thank you so much for your beautiful work!! Your scripting is amazing!! Give your son a hug from me! 🥰
I LOVE your videos! Thank you! 👍🏼
I just love your style and how beautiful and effortlessly you paint. I could watch you for hours

It was a wonderful time for me!thanks from France!
Thank you so much! A brilliant and simple tutorial, loved it😊
So awesome! Beautiful creative Christmas wreath!
I should have gone to bed ages ago but loving watching you paint, thank you, can’t wait to try.🙂
Thank you so much! I can hardly wait till I give it a try.
I really enjoy your videos! BTW Mistletoe berries are very small kind of waxy pale yellowish (creamy) white. The leaves are a light yellow green. Thanks for all you do!
What a great tutorial I’m a newbie to watercolour I love how you make it look so I think I can do this 👩🎨
I look forward each day to watching you turn simple into beautiful. What a great video for the season. Frame that and it would make a great hanging for the season. You actually inspired me to pick up a brush and paint. All I do is usually watch. A big Thank YOU.
