Three years ago, a friend of mine said that he has a friend from his childhood and he thinks him and I would get along. Fast forward a couple of months, the friend and I follow each other and I posted on close friends story asking if anyone wants to hang out, and I'm not even sure how I got my friend's friend in my close friends, but it's meant to be honestly. He sent me a message and just asked "when?" no small talk, no nothing, we just said time and place we'd meet. I never saw him before, I never spoke to him and that's the first online conversation I had with him: "When, where we'll meet and where will we go." and that was all, everything was dealt with in about 10 messages. Long story short, he's the love of my life now. I think social media does help connect people, but focusing your relationship more in the social media rather than taking the time off your day to spend it with your person will help tremendously.

She simply was struggling, much like we all do, and she fell away from her stronger relationship with God. She’s definitely grown in her faith a lot since then, and for that I am SO proud & happy for her! God really showed her how to be truly happy🤞🏽
I’m not religious but I’m celibate for different reasons and also a female in their 30s. It’s rough out here… I feel like it would be easier being celibate when you are religious because then that’s such a huge part of the relationship and stuff. But my reasons are different and other non-religious ppl don’t wanna be with someone celibate in this culture where hooking up is so easy. It’s extremely unattractive to me tho so I’m also searching for someone who’s celibate for non religious reasons. That discipline and healthy boundaries is extremely attractive to me. I’ve kind of lost hope in finding a partner because of it. Just seems like there isn’t another person out there like me. I’ve accepted if I go the rest of my life celibate that’s the commitment I’ve made to myself and I wanna honor that if need be.

Recently i got into a big fight with my dad because he told me to give up on marriage. He is a christian no less. It upset me to where i fell into a depression because one of my biggest goals in life is to get married and start a family. I really needed to hear this prayer rn.
One thing Ive learnt in this journey of life so far as a divorcie and someone who rushed into every relationship ive been in, is that we have been conditioned to believe that we need to find our person....All the fairytales and disney princesses make us feel like we can find that perfect person for us too live happily ever after but in reality....we got to make it more natural too not look for our person anymore, we dont need too be married and be in a relationship to be happy. Our person has been ourselves this whole time and we need to put the time and love into ourselves as we would for someone else. We literally can do sooooo much to make ourselves happy and safe. If someone else unexpectedly comes along and joins you on this path of life, then awesome but don't make it the main reason for anything. I've also learnt that the butterflies we feel in our tummies is a sign of a red flag because we are usually attracted too the people we think we are in love with but it ends up being the similar people over and over again because its all we've known due too traumas or just growing up in a toxic environment. Alot of times its the ones you aren't expecting to be with and no butterflies that end up working out in the end. (Not always but when you do the work internally and realize your triggers....its mind-blowing what you've been allowing to come into your life this whole time) Hope this makes sense and even helps someone reading this
Totally agree on the dating app thing. I tried it out a few years ago and I met my ex-bf there, but the whole time i felt like i was forcing an unnatural relationship and it ended badly. Not trying to force an attraction is something i feel isnt talked about enough. And for very introverted/socially awkward people, online dating sometimes feels like the only option to meet someone.

This advice is so good and so true! I’m Christian, I met this guy on Facebook dating July of 2023, I set boundaries upfront and kept ignoring red flags because I was desperate for a family. I was definitely settling and believed the good in him yet there was no good in him… fast forward to December of 2024.. I got pregnant. Now I’m a single mother! The biggest take away and advice I can give is don’t ignore the red flags and do not settle and as Gabby said, be patient and take your time and stick to your boundaries 🙏🏼❤️

The “people shopping” in dating apps is smth that really frustrates me bc we go there looking for connection, but we end up feeling empty and anxious, always wondering if “smth better” is in the next swipe and if that person we liked is going to validate us back. Im honestly tired of that. It sucks my soul and today I take spiritual health just as seriously as mental and physical health. When I was younger I used to think dating was easy. Probably bc I was equating success in dating with number of people pursuing me. Thats not it at all. Its really easy for people to lie, to not do their own work and show up expecting others to do it for them. I have encountered many of those and was one myself. Now I feel like I am finally in a place where I can add to someone’s life and have them add to mine, but I dont NEED it to be happy. Its just a feeling of content and openness and love that I have never experienced before in my adult life. But where can I find someone who is in the exact same moment as me? Bc thats the hard part. Everyone has their own shit to go through and sometimes the perfect person for you is not perfect for you YET. And I also still have a lot to learn too. Either way, I will keep searching and learning and loving along the way. I mean, thats the whole point after all, right?

About two years ago when you were going through that hard time on TikTok, I remember seeing those videos and being so sad that you were going through all of that. I remember taking a few days to pray for your health and salvation (I don’t know when you officially accepted Christ, but I could tell then that you weren’t fully walking with the Lord but you had some influence). But after seeing how much you’ve grown and that you’re healthy and genuinely love the Lord, I am so happy for you. I wish we lived near each other, because just knowing you through these videos and seeing you’ve come to saving faith (we have similar testimonies), I feel like we would be such great friends if we lived close.
