La tierra más herrmosa que ojos humanos hayan contemplado jamás como lo dijo el Gran Almirante, Cristóbal Colón un 27 de octubre de 1492 al ver nuestra Patria, la Isla de Cuba y precisamente en Baracoa pronunció estas palabras un gran navegante ¡ qué tantas tierras había visto ! pero a ninguna las describió con este elogio.
