Thanks for your woodpecker video, I have made over 10 and the kids still want more, Every grandchild got 1 for Christmas, along with Lincoln logs inspired by Mr Steinbrecher.
    Have a Merry Christmas.

Got a similar one as a birthday gift by my dad round about 35 years ago, and still have it. Now my own son has it in his room, and i guess he will give it forward to his kids as well.

Well jack, you've got a new sub, I was turned off to your channel by your first " impossible dovetail" video as I found a bit amateur... but after watching many of your other videos I've come to realize that you are a very talented woodworker. In fact the video which you posted about your method of making "impossible dovetails" was actually quite inspired in its own way. Happy to be a subscriber and I'm sorry for any criticism I may have posted on the aforementioned "impossible dovetail" video

Jack, cute project. I think I will make a few for my grandkids to mess with. As I watched, Jack, I think I saw you making some cross cuts of rather short pieces against the fence. It scared me as I have experienced kick back with a table saw. I urge you to look at this video Kickback on Camera! about kick back. A safer approach for short cross cuts is to use the miter gauge without the fence involved or better to use a sled. I really applaud your creativity and enthusiasm but I would like to see you keep your digits as well. I previously saw your use of push sticks, your "sissy sticks". We all use them. Only a nut would rip small pieces without them.

Just found your channel today. I really like the woodpecker game. I have a couple of questions. You said you cut a section of 1" dowel. That is the only measurement mentioned. Is the upright dowel 1/2" and what is the diameter and length of the spring? I hope you get this since it is a year old.
    Thanks,
    Terry

I have tried to make a copy of your woodpecker on a pole and found that it slips too far when bouncing. What diameter is the dowel rod in your video? What diameter drill bit did you use for the sleeve on the bouncing bird and how thick is the wood sleeve? It looks to be about 1 inch.
