  • This is a realtime video of me drawing in the Amaziograph App for each symmetry type. I tried to do this in a minute each, some took a little longer. You can obviously tell which ones I like and which ones I absolutely can't work with.
    This is filmed in realtime.,

    When I pinch my screen, it does not hold the size. It goes back to full screen. Would you know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks. Love your artwork!

    Thank you so much for posting this. I have only just bought both Amaziograph and iOrnament and I'm trying to get to grips with them. Sometimes it's fun and other times frustrating. It helps a lot to watch what you are doing, it gives me a better intuitive understanding of the app and how it works. I think using each of the symmetry types like you have done is a great project idea that will also help me. So thanks for the idea! I love that cover you have on your iPencil @1/2 a px. It looks like wood in the video, way cool. Where did you get that?

    I have noticed that there are 2 orange pins when I am choosing the grid size etc, could you help me to understand how they work thanks.

    • @halfapx
      @halfapx  Před 8 lety +1

      they help you change the angle and size. uf you pick one up and move it you can see how it affects the grid.

    Can you export this as vectors and then work with the file in illustrator? thanks :)

    • @halfapx
      @halfapx  Před 8 lety +2

      unfortunately not. it's a pixelbased program.

    • @Sauric121
      @Sauric121 Před 7 lety +5

      You may be able to get something out of the image with Illustrator's live tracing functionality.

    • @halfapx
      @halfapx  Před 7 lety +1

      Sauric121 you might, but the resolution is not the best and when working with very fine lines it's not the best to work with

    From the looks of it, this is the 12.7" Pro? Do you use a screen protector? If not, how's the normal wear and tear from the Apple Pencil on the screen?

    • @halfapx
      @halfapx  Před 8 lety +1

      it's actually the 9.7, which I find large enough. I don't use a screen protector and the pencil hasn't any wear yet which is pretty impressive. My wacom bamboo wore my pen tip down within a few weeks, I've had the iPad for almost 4 months now and used it every day for at least 1 hour and the pencil tip is still in fantastic shape.

      1/2 a px. are you saying that wacom bamboo works with this app? i have an ipad air and since apple pencil isn't an option, any other stylus that you can suggest.. i am inclined towards wacom bamboo fineline.

    • @halfapx
      @halfapx  Před 7 lety

      Shanti Swaroop Prabhakar yes, the app is not pressure sensitive. but if you intend on getting and using procreate as well I 'd suggest getting a pressure sensitive stylus. I haven't had the chance yet to try another stylus with my iPad so I can't really suggest anything there.

    Amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this. I have only just bought the app so seeing your video is a great help. The shading makes an enormous difference. Please can you tell me what pen are you using? It looks better for fine lines than the clunky one I have right now :-)

      I think the original one is called a pencil cozy. I found mine on ebay, since I didn't want it to be white and looked for colorful ones. Additionally it was super inexpensive.

      It’s the one thing I dislike about the app, I find it so tricky to keep lines clean and neat since it’s pressure supported, it’s very easy to go heavier when curving lines ect. Frustrating, you can’t turn it on or off in the app settings can you? That would be fab if you could disable it.

      Mismaddox the resolution is equal to the screen size. The iPad Pro 9.7 has 2048px width, if your laptop has a small screen you might get worse quality.
