- Season 03 Episode 49: 2022/2023 opening day at arapahoe basin! ski resorts are finally open again as arapahoe basin opens up for the start of the 2022/23 season. we made the trek out there about 7 hours to celebrate the beginning of a new season. arapahoe basin sure knows how to put on an opening day and it was great conditions to get back on our edges.

hah love it. I've gone October skiing once, October 29th at Wildcat Mountain in NH. Very similar, low vis, one run, bumps, but was a great time.

@@samrichardson2641 I won't lie, when I started snowboarding years back he was one of the first I watched. I will say he does inspire others to an extent but I agree with you... I've grown out of his stuff the last year or so and that's because some of his content has rubbed me the wrong way and seems super reckless. But can't hate on him, he's made it on here. Totally get where you're coming from and maybe someone should approach him about it? Snowboard Pro Camp was another I started with.

Excellent video, i took my Revel van out for sking last season in CO and UT, i learned a few things about sleeping ion the van during 0 degree weather. I plan on heading to Jackson Hole about Jan 15 to kick off this years ski season and ski most of the Winter out of the van.

In Dillon, there's a parking lot near pug Ryan's brewery that you can park in overnight. I haven't tried it but they have signs saying which days you can park there and I've seen a bunch of vans there before

Just a thought, with your heater, I have had similar issues at altitudes over 10k. On mine I was able to adjust the mix to bring in less fuel, but it could be your vans angle like you said. Great video dude! I thought I saw you there but was like, nooo, hes up in PNW lol, glad you made Colorados Opening Day!
Hey thanks man! Appreciate the insight on the heater. Mine has a built in altimeter so apparently it adjusts the mix by itself? Not really sure how I can adjust it manually though!

Hey Lucas, love the vid! I noticed your POV shot shows both your skis and the horizon / backdrop pretty nicely - I've been having trouble doing that with hero 10. are you mounting your gopro on your helmet? If so is it the hero10 or the max? wondering how i can angle my mount so the shot looks like yours!
EDIT: from the frame at 6:39, it looks like you're using the max. Dang! wish the hero10 could pull that pov off
Yup I’m using the max for that very reason! You can try to get the max lens mod and see if that’s helpful for you!

I use warp stabilizer in Adobe premiere to help with any shake from shooting handled man!

Gotcha... was only looking at it from a ski season point of view. Adding on JH in Feb is looking solid too! Unfortunately, I will likely have to wait until Feb to get my first tracks being a flatlander from the midwest. I second the bigger quiver comment on your Day 2 post.
I've been dabbling with my camera and there's so much to it... can make it what you want. Anyhow, it's cool to see your footage, editing, etc. especially some of the drone footage... not sure how you pull off getting drone footage of your van while driving, but it's cool!
People can still be stoked, but pretty sure no one in the history of skiing has ever called it the white ribbon of joy... Also - didn't it snow like 2' in Utah on the same day? If you drove 7 hrs for the lift, perhaps time to consider some touring gear? Sweet vid. 👍
