- Footage filmed on DJI Phantom 3 Professional in 4K. The location - Koh Yao Yai , Phuket , Thailand - is a beautiful island and Phantom 3 Professional's camera really did justice to how stunning the area looked.
At night it was very windy but the drone still hold it's position pretty well, we only experienced a few jello issues when it was flying against the strong wind.
Overall it was a great flight: the only thing we wished it would have been better was a ND filter - Koh Yao Yai is a very sunshiny island and a stronger ND filter would definitely help reduce the overexposure
A big thumb up to the new Phantom from DJI, for both the impressive quality of the camera and stability in different situations.

what a wonderful video! I just got a phantom professional too as a hobbie in order to accomplish this astonishing footages like yours ;). Just a quick question, do you edit your videos straight from 4k or do u recommend downgrading them to 1080p in order to edit them easily and faster? since Im amateur in video editing I wonder if downgrading the video would be the same as shooting them in 1080 straight from the phantom.
Javier Arreozola Yes, we edited and output at 4K. If you have the hardware to shoot and process 4k, we would recommend using 4k - it delivers a much higher quality video after all. However in your case it really depends on your computer processing power and what you are trying to deliver.
Downscaling it will certainly save more editing time and make it easier to process. (Note that downscaling from 4k to 1080p would still give a slightly more detailed footage than simply shooting in 1080p.)

Looks really great. Did you do any post video work or is this a straight recording off the DJI? Asking as some videos I've seen from over quads make the video slightly curved.
Simeon Williams Thank you, we only did some color correction to the footage, nothing major really.
The videos you saw were probably filmed with GoPro cameras, or older versions of Phantom(e.g. Phantom 2 vision+), they have ultra-wide angle lens, hence the "curved' effect in the videos.
The DJI Phantom 3 camera comes with 94⁰ field of view lens that eliminating the unwanted fish-eye distortion.
Skyborne Aerial at the moment, I'm saving for a DJI Phantom 3 Advanced. Is there currently a lot of work out there for aerial photography? I got a few business ideas that could work.

What colour correction was applied and mode was this shot in?
Here's a question for you guys, I noticed when watched in 4k the scenery tends to shimmer, or kind of blend together especially with a pan over the trees. I didn't notice it when watched in lower resolution and was wondering if y'all knew what it is. It is driving me crazy trying to get a nice smooth video out of my footage over water and trees without that "shimmer" or pixeling effect. Is it too much sharpness? I'm watching on a macbook air 2013. Thanks.
+Matthew Maus hey Mathew, I think i know what you are talking about. That sort of uncrisp edges around trees and what not. Well, this is most likely due to the bitrate of the camera on the dji phantom pro. Bitrate is how much information the camera can put on the card relative to speed. It's measured in megabyte per socond (mbps). Now even if the camera is 4K, because of the bitrate of only 60mbps (which in the camera world IS NOT A LOT AT ALL) when there is something with a lot of information such as trees that have loads of leaves, there is too much information for the camera to take in. My advice to combat this is move the drone slower, and mess about in post with it. Hope this helps.
+Matthew Maus also maybe invest in a filter for your DJI drone. An ND filter. Heard people say it helps. Google images showing the differences

To carry your particular camera, I would just go with Dji Firefly, powerful and very reliable.

Jerry Morrison What kind of SD card are you using(brand, speed..)? Have you tried formatting the SD card in the DJI Pilot APP?
Need an sd multi card reader(USB) to reformat the card to either exFAT or fat 32. Default all the card allocation settings. Worked for me.
Jerry Morrison Get a USB card reader, I purchased mine through #Drones Inc and it was a piece of shit!! The SD card converter that is... Come to think of it the 32GB micro reads SLOW SD CARD in the Phantom 3. But don't use a card converter, use an actual USB plug in converter. That worked for me right away, got one at Best Buy for like $8. Good luck.
