CORRECTION: the Olight does have strobe. I misread the manual.
I know what you use the lights for. When you're being attacked by a Grizzly Bear, you blind them with the light then run up and smack 'em over the head.
One of these will be perfect to mount on my home defense pistol:)
No aiming problems whatsoever.😂
You iz a crazy boi
You must be very very strong.! LOL
You won't even need to fire your pistol. No joke.
With both of them on you are attracting every moth in a 100 mile radius.
Both have the same battery capacity in terms of Wh (watt-hours). X9R is 6Ah 14.4V and the LR80R is 12Ah 7.2V. Both are 86.4 Wh.
I was chuckling right along with you as you turned on those lights outside… when you’re a flashlight person like we are, you just can’t help yourself but giggle when you see output like that. I love it!
I'll tell you as a firefighter I would use this all the time
These are absolute overkill in the coolest possible way! I felt like that after opening my Marauder 2, but I can only imagine one of these beasts in my hands and bringing daylight to the night! Awesome!
Both very impressive and honestly wouldn’t mind owning either one but I think I like the phoenix more
Nice video! Really liked the last angle @ 8:45, really shows off the light spread. Also nice thumbnail!
I’m a lineman and work nights. So these are definitely worth looking into. I thought my Fenix LR35R was bright but I like more of a thrower than a flood. Plus like you said brand loyalty. But I carry both Olight and Fenix. Liking that threaded mount on the Fenix. As always great review.
I love how you always give stuff away, It’s very generous of you. I love all of my Olights, Thank you for the comparison that flood of the X9R is insane
Very nice video, after a long search the lr80r was recommended to me and I am very satisfied. It's not the brightest but I can rely on it and its case is carefully made and sturdy
I'm a member of a search and rescue group and I have this Fenix. It is an absolute monster and a delight to use for any night call-outs. I evaluated both lights before purchase and went with Fenix because the throw is so much better and more useful for my purposes - it's not all about lumens. More importantly, the USB-C charging situation is far more modern and compatible with all devices I use to charge with (cell phone, pocket light, Anker battery charger, etc). It also has a more dense battery and is smaller in size. Finally, Fenix has a 20% off deal making their light half the price.
I got the marauder 2 for free and with the battery life I think its a better choice than both
@@kenaaronbabbit9987 That light appears to have about 2622 feet of throw while the Fenix has 3707 feet of throw. To me that light is in a different class akin to the Fenix lr50r.
Thanks for the great review!
Excellent review!
I love that x9r cell unfortunately I was too late to get one however I have heard several people say it's really not that great and that battery replacement was not available.
Great comparison video!
I have a Marauder2, I couldn't find a use for this light, but fine products all the same.
I like the blooper ending of your video.
ebedah...ebedah...tha...tha...thats all folks.
I know what you use the lights for. When you're being attacked by a Grizzly Bear, you blind them with the light then run up and smack 'em over the head.
Great comparison!
I think Fenix has olight beat with this light
yeah. that's a tough one. I like the aesthetics and the UI on the Olight more. I like the price and beam pattern on the Fenix more. We need a love-child from them both!
Wow always great reviews. Those are both amazing lights.
I like the Fenix because it has a standard ¼-20 tripod mount ..
I like the standard USB C charging ..
I like the "power bank" functionality
Its also better protected from water (IP68)
Yup, the 1/4-20 means I can mount it on the handlebar of my bike for some serious night riding
That sounds crazy but there are 8000 lumen bike lights that cost over $500. The Fenix could do double triple duty just based on that 1/4-20.
I am curios to see how the 10,000 lumen bike light I ordered performs at $60.00(sale price) It does have the CREE LEDs, and external battery pack.
I LOVE THEM THE FENEX I AM MY FAV WITH LIGHT DISTANCING
I prefer the LR80R, and it is $200 cheaper as well!
After watching this, I'm glad I skimped and ordered the Marauder 2. Looks like these in the video are overkill.
Nice vid! Bury the barn in a beam of brightness
I agree with another commenter, that light would be a perfect home defense weapon!
Naw you'd blind yourself it would be good for farm
That flood probably feels like being abducted by aliens on the opposite side
Using the LR80R for video productions.
great review!
Those lights are just ridiculous. Your laughter every time you turned one on HAHA
That laughter was genuine too. I was so shocked at how they blasted everything.
@@HarleyWood23 I have the same reaction when something is so over the top it becomes amazing. I had an 89 Ford Club Wagon with 10"s of lift and 37s with a 460. I laughed every time I got behind the wheel
@@ProAverag3
Nice man. I bought a 2019 F250. Put 37’s on it also. With the tune it has 1,200 ft pounds of torque. Feels so good.
@@HarleyWood23 Those make good Bro-Dozers! Good trucks for sure
Fenix lr80 is the monster better throw then any other but little expensive .
Great video also, these two flashlights the Olight and Fenix are unbelievable at the just wall of light they put out!!! No more excuses that you can't do something because the sun's going down lol, say what it's getting dark take me to my truck I happen to have the sunshine right in the console turn on one of these huge Olights
Both are high quality brands but I think the Olights are nicer designs, almost like Jonny Ive was involved. I love my
X9R, got it the first day on sale and it still works like the day I got it. Very happy with it. I much prefer the higher quality over some light brands that now are brighter but for a much shorter time and iffy quality.
Incredible lights. Do either one one with sunglasses ? Thanks for your time to do this review 👍
Fantastic review as always. im on the fence, I loved the throw on the Fenix but prefer the flood on the Olight, uggh
I’m looking for good portable hunting spotlight and found myself trying to create a 2nd sun.
Any recommendations from this channel and community would be appreciated.
I'm in the woods alone, and I have olight marauder and 5 minis ,when you're in the woods at knight and you hear noises you have never heard before you want the brightest flashlight and more then just one ,there's been times that it's so dark you can't even see your hands and it gets spooky I remember one time around 2am a very scary animal sound and there's no question it must have been a big animal and I pointed the flashlights in the sound direction and I could hear heavy animal running away, when you're in a situation like that you want the brightest flashlight .
Those would make a nice replacement for my trucks hi beam headlights. 😁
I like the Fenix because it has a standard ¼ 20 tripod mount ..
Nice video !!! Thanks
Must have had a hell of a bicep workout there lol 😆
Didn’t mention the double tap or triple tap on the olight
Cant decide which one has better quality
Hey boss, you said Olight "No Strobe"
Correction,. It does sir. Triple tap!
Have had my "Free" (from O-Coin s) X9R for a few weeks.
Neighbors hate me 😖
Was just about to say the same thing.
@@charlesrobillard190 great minds...... 👍🏼
Yeah. I misread. I was looking at SOS/Beacon. I pinned a correction comment above.
Crazy lights. And funny bloopers. Lol…
Thanks for watching to the end.
That was awesome!
Plus the Imalent throws over 4,000 ft. That’s absolutely Insane. I think it says it has a 32,000 mah battery. I had the Fenix RC40 back in 2017 I think it was and it was like 4,000 lumen and then they came out with the 6000 lumen. Now they have the 18,000 lumen LR80R lol. I also still have a 3 brightness output level long thrower hid flashlight. 6500 lumen on low, 7500 on medium and 8500 on high. It wasn’t that expensive either and worked good for a couple years until the replaceable 11,000 mah cell started acting up. The guy who builds the cell’s said he would replace it at a discount. I might still get another battery so I can start using it again regardless if I buy a powerhouse led.
which is the best for search and rescue?
Can the Fenix be used with the shoulder strap with the handle removed? Thanks
Mantap bro 👍👍👍
BRIAN
once again Great Review.
Just An FYI, mAH is not a good measurement as the Voltage could be different between the two battery packs.
Watt Hours would be more ideal.
I like the body style of the Olight, but the Fenix 'throw' is killer. Would love to see with my own eyes. They look impressive on camera but real life viewing would really help a decision. Both pricey, but look well made.
Hey Joe, just order the Fenix LR80R and try it, if you don’t like it Send it back. That’s what I did years ago with the 3500 or 4000 lumen Fenix light that looks just like this one.
I have no use for these to flashlights 🔦……. But man are the freaking awesome. Makes me wish I lived in the country to just have them and destroy darkness lol
I'd love to hear your thoughts on Imalent ms06 25000 lumen. Thank you for your consideration!
This would be a great WML.
Amazing lights
I'm gonna walk around with both on. 😎
Both are beautiful
Fenix and other light companies have really upped their game lately. My biggest gripe with Olight is that they are worried about making the same lights they currently have in every color imaginable. I'd rather see updated models or new items. Some of their stuff hasn't changed in a while. But that's just my opinion. Awesome review as always!
That Fenix handle seems like it would help with carrying in a general sense.
Keep in mind, they BOTH have the over-the-shoulder carrying straps.
Great job brother, I knew the Fenix would blow it away. The x9 is a nice light but I'd rather have the lr80r. Thanks Harley
Yeah, this is a good one man. I have to send the X9R back, but I'm going to sneak it in to the review of your light first.
magnifique
i do not want those lights dropping on my toes. fenix 🤘!
Damn I wish I could afford either of these. I have the Marauder 2 though.
Man. !!!
That’s totally bad assed !!!
I would love either one. What would you need it for? Well for one you won't need a gun for home defense. Point either one of those lights in their eyes, they wont be able to see for a month.
The marauder 2 is a way more reasonable choice
Awesome
I just found my new edc!
8:32 Feny-iX is better ; i donno why the Os are allways weak?
let there be Olight!
Imalent DX80 vs Fenix LR80R?
Imalent MS18 vs Fenix LR80R?
Acebeam X70 vs Fenix LR80R?
MS18 ;-)
and don’t forget the ten year warranty for x9r.bravo olight. and now make a zoom lep flashlight.
Man those lights are beasts
yea and people say you cant use flashlights for self-defence...
I could use one as daily carry. Are pockets clip available? Lol
Why would Fenix put a non-removable battery in theirs? I mean...can you at least pay them to replace the battery, or just have to get a new light when the battery gets to the point it no longer hold charge?
you can change the battery, its just build into the tube body but you can replace it
They service their stuff for years too
Should bring in the surefire udr dominator next only costs $1200
Lmao I actually looked it up. Now I feel dumb. I’m surprised it’s being sold still. Only 2400 lumens, looks shitty, super huge and $1,300? Who on earth would buy that garbage lol
The Olight can't run as high as the Fenix for long at all! Everything over 6000 is like turbo inasmuch as it steps down quickly! Shame...
elle fait combien le prix
Just purchased the fenix lr80r for being out on the boat night fishing for safe travels. Cant wait to try it out!
How was it?
@@rotaxrider works great. Brightens everything up on the water at night up to 300 yards. Saved us the first night we used it. A guy was in a boat headed right toward us, had to spot light him so he wouldn't run us over!
The fenix is replaceable. Just unscrew the battery from the head and replace it with a spare charged unit.
Where did you find a replacement battery?
Using them both would be a...wait for it...LITTLE LIGHT WORKOUT! :D Don't hate me. LOL
Fenix !!!
LR80R battery pack is replaceable. It is 7,2V / 12000mAH. vs X9R is 14,4V 6000 mAH. So capacity is exactly the same.
Why would you need one?? If you don't have a couple acres don't even ask ...
The spill will blind you if you use it in the dark..try that with a tree to your right...
Dayum! Those are some bright MFers.
X9r The Best!
👍
Follow on all platforms.
phoenix looks more hip and cool. that counts
He only likes olight. He even know what goes on sale for olight . Hahhaha. What a joke
Olight Rules!!!!
Man that is awsome but I think the lr50r is the best
How's lr50r better than lr80r??
@@UKRglory I like it better because it's smaller and light weight
I can’t believe the Imalent MS18 doesn’t come in a nice padded hard shell suit case style case like the Olight X9R does. It comes in a shitty looking cheap type box. ESPECIALLY for $700. I’m not sure which light I want to consider between the Baddest Imalent MS18, Olight X9R or the Fenix LR80R. Your reviews are really nice and detailed sir. Thanks
Buy it for cool factor😂, scare car thieves away😂
দাম কত টাকা
Fenix is best through
You should do a review of the world’s brightest Imalent MS18 100,000 lumen flashlight. Would probably put all your powerhouse lights to shame lol.
The ms18 was only really build to crush the lumen record. It's an impressive engineering feat but I wouldn't recommend is as a light to buy. You won't get any range with it plus its a huge light.
So do you recommend the Fenix LR80R then? Or what about any of the Auxbeam lights? Not sure if I’m impressed with that huge X9R either. I do want to get a nice powerhouse light with lots of throw and flood. You should also get into handheld laser reviews. They are neat and have almost a mile throw range. Insane. I appreciate the response. Thanks
@@nitetrain7136 the x9r was fine when it came out but it's quite a few years old at this point and even when it came out it was quite overpriced, like most olight products.
If you want to get something bright that still throws a far distance, LR50R is probably the best. LR80R will be bigger but imo the LR50R is the better package, it's almost as bright and a lot smaller. Acebeam makes great lights as well but they have nothing that is similar to the LR50R, they have the x50 which is extremely bright but it won't have the same range as the Fenix. Acebeam K30gt is a great compact searchlight with lots of range but not as much lumens as other lights may have.
If you want something similar in terms of beam profile to the LR50R or Lr80r, check out the maker mk38 with the SFT40 Leds. Around 15k lumens and still really good range. It's a lot more expensive than the fenix tho.
