@Borussen Bert no he obviously was a french soldiere who by was shitting his pants just by seeing a french officer cap ....he had flashbacks of the terrible things he whitnessed
I still don't know how my Grandfather went through 4.5 years as an English infantryman without a scratch and in 5 major battles, and then was gassed at the 2nd battle of Amiens, in 1918. Then he was told by a doctor that he would not live beyond 1920. But what!? He lived until 1966. And that's just one man's tale. God bless all those who suffered, and we must never forget all those who died.
I feel so lucky that I haven't had to go through something like that in my lifetime. I can't imagine anything much worse to be honest. RIP brave soldiers.
You've done it again. Great music over frightening images. Edited to perfection. One slight criticism though. When the music changed at the end with the Arial shot of the remembrance stones, I would have left the music out but all in all it was perfect
Thanks, glad you liked it. About the music at the end, I would like to let the song fade out like you said but CZcams's robot, ContendID, doesnt allow me to upload the video with only this song. So I had to add the 2 others song at the end wich break the atmosphere of the video I agree :/

As I am addicted to this video, I would like to ask to remake this. I have no ideas for videos to edit and would like to use this idea of World War 1 footage combined with Holocene. I will credit you in the video and description. Can I remake it?
How was the color put on it? Or was there already color? But great video, taking something so tragic from the past and beautifully putting it together. also who is the person on your profile pic?
Thanks you for your comment, most of the footages here have been restored and colorized. The soldier on my profile pic is Larry Wayne Chaffin. The photo is from 1965, in Vietnam, he was 19 at the time and you can see the slogan "War is Hell" on his helmet
Salut, LeBreton j'apprécie énormément ton travail. Serait-il possible d'avoir une vidéo sûr l'Indochine? Avec des extraits de Dien Bien Phu. Si jamais tu vois le message merci. Bonne fête de fin d'année!
I can understand that Nazi's emerged from this terrible war Don't tell me for even a moment you haven't invested, time and effort into something that meant the world to you, built it up from nothing, only for everyone around you to destroy that which you loved so much. That was Germany before the Nazis ruined it, but I understand why they were as radical as they were, because of the Great War and the years that followed
No human being should have to go through anything like that for any reason.
This video needs to be seen.
Tragic and harrowing, but also beautifully made. We will remember them
They Shall Not Grow Old
I'm not crying!
3:23 shook my heart as it demonstrated sheer fear in men’s eyes and the power people had over them.
It’s sad ☹️ and heartbreaking 💔

It’s sad seeing what shell shocked dose to and what war dose to you and your mind
Sad how everyone says the germans are evil, but in reality, they were just being loyal to the country.
boys as young as 17
No a lot of boy soldiers 100,000 were in the war and the youngest soldier was 11 years old
It was so sad when you saw the guys that had to take a chunk of their face off cause of a wound
How many?
How many were made to die for the actions of a few?
