  • BUY, LEASE OR FINANCE A MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE CROSS FROM OSV: bit.ly/3mmKD5J
    The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is easily the most class-competitive SUV that Mitsubishi makes. Stand-out styling, an efficient 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and plush equipment levels are all strong points. Enough to make you look beyond the Qashqai and SEAT Ateca models that rule the mid-size volume-branded Crossover class? Quite possibly.

    Mitsubishi on my radar now. Never really looked at this brand but seems to be worth a look, and I can imagine build and reliability to be excellent.
    UPDATE : I had the use of one of these for a day and was very disappointed. It was nothing like I imagined. Seemed a solid build, nice styling, nice leather seats and CVT was good but thats. It wasnt quiet in the cabin, there was a lot of wind and road noise, you felt every imperfection on the road and the steering was like a Suzuki Celerio - vague and no feel to it, no weight off centre as you go round corners. Strangely, it had a very settled comfy ride on the open road and big speed humps but it just didn’t deal with holes, ridges and changes in tarmac which prevail in town centre streets. The engine suited the car well although I prefer the Subaru Boxer engine soundtrack, this engine seemed dull and lacking in any sort of character. I will try the Shogun Sport when I get the chance, it should be a very different experience.

    Very nice and honest review. I’ve watched so many for this suv, as i just bought this car and befire picking it up was not sure if i made the right choice.All i can say is that it feels very nice all over, nothing bothers, very nice ride, all good materials, sound, amazing bold design ex- and interior. Its like a statement. The car is WAY better “in person” then in any video. It has tonnes of different technologies, it talks to you politely if you make a potentially unsafe driving error, the car cares about you!!! LOL. Dont be afraid to buy it!!!!

    Like 'Top Gear' used to be back in the day, thank goodness. Although I tend to be an anorak and prefer the longer videos on the RAC website. A latter day William Woollard. Well done.

    I just got my eclipse cross gt last month. I noticed the the automatic braking works well when it is on assisted cruise control.. it actually worked on me today... some car cut me off , and he braked suddenly and my cross braked on its own instantly... love it ... Does this work if im not on assisted cruise control also ??? What if im driving in a neighborhood road and some child runs in front ,,will it stop ?? Even if my foot is on the gas pedal ??? I havent been in that situation ,, nor do i want to try it out .. Do i need to program something in my settings ?

      Dimi it's well worth studying the car manual's section 6, 78, and then you will be sure that your forward collision mitigation setting is switched on - the button is to the right of the steering wheel down on the lower dash (UK drive) and yes, if it is activated and there is a serious possibility of the car colliding with another vehicle or pedestrian/object, the brakes will respond automatically. I'm still new to the car myself, but have been reading the manual a few times, and it does help clarify what button does what, and how the car responds to a given situation. It can be tedious to do this, but well worth it in the end.

      @dimicaimano5734 Před 6 lety

      ok thanks , im in canada so the button is on the right side.. i do have it on . but i noticed i had a few close calls and it didnt hit the brakes on ... just the indicator came on saying " BRAKE "
      but it didnt stop i had to hit the brakes on myself

    • @douglasspeekin9261
      @douglasspeekin9261 Před 6 lety +3

      I guess the automatic braking response is a last resort Dimi, or at least that's my understanding of the manual: 'When the risk of collision increases more, the system causes the brakes to work moderately to encourage you to apply brakes. If the system judges that a potential collision is imminent, it initiates emergency braking to mitigate collision-caused damages or to avoid possible collision'. No substitute for good reactions, as you pointed out, but it's nice to know there is a back-up in place to help. I too like the automatic braking with cruise control activated - it's very smart, and makes driving the vehicle very relaxing on motorways. I have the UK version '4' in Frost White with 18" alloys, leather seats, sunroof, and the Rockford Fosgate premium sound system installed. Top of the UK range is the red 'Special Edition' model - the GT in Canada? Good to meet someone who is also enjoying this car :-)

    • @dimicaimano5734
      @dimicaimano5734 Před 6 lety

      Yes thats correct. The gt version is the top model in canada. Loving it alot and got alot of people turning heads .
      I only have 3900 km and my indicator says im due for my first schedule maintenance . isnt it still to early ??? shouldnt it be at 7000km ?
      i received my vehicule in april.

    • @douglasspeekin9261
      @douglasspeekin9261 Před 6 lety +2

      An excellent choice Dimi :-)The strong design of the front grille and sporty profile caught my eye initially, and I am sure the rear styling will cause a fair degree of controversy, but at least it's getting some attention, for good or for bad. My first scheduled servicing is 12 months/12500 miles (20116 km) whichever comes first. As I have only driven it a paltry 400 miles so far (643 km) i've a long way to go before my first servicing visit! I would check your servicing record book that comes with the car, as it may be a different requirement in Canada, but 3900 km (2423 miles) seems way too soon after receiving the car in April.

    The mpg is really quite offputting. Its a thirsty car. A hybrid may well have made it more acceptable. I test drove a First Edition today and was generally quite pleased with the car til I saw the average mpg of my test displayed as 24.6 !
    I'll be sticking with my diesel 3008.
    Sorry, Mitsubishi.

      Very true I don’t understand why for a 1.5 it’s supposed to be economical

    • @mdo
      @mdo Před rokem

      It's the trend of downsizing engines then turbocharging them to hell and back. This leads to good economy on tests but terrible in the real world. Meanwhile we have Mazda with their big naturally aspirated detuned engines which, despite their cc size, actually get good real world fuel economy.

    Love this guy! Hate this crossover. The drivetrains setup here should be every bit competitive to the Honda CRV 1.5L turbo petrol with cvt. It doesnt though. Not even close frankly
