This tradition of Ghughuti Basuti is also alive in Nepali hills. When I discovered this song here, I was surprised. There for sure is a connection between Nepal, Uttarakhand and Himachal.

i am 18 now and when i was kid my father used to do "ghughuti basuti" i can barely remember few glimpses of it
it was truly a happy time of my life
we all used to say that we want to grow up fast!

Language may be different, but this song exist in every part of India. I am from UP, but was born and brought up in MP. Both of these places have the same song but with slightly different words. Everyone is connected to each other some or other way.
