Alright!! A lot to break down here. Obviously this was my first time on the island, this was a preview cruise so not everything was up and running(very little things such as some drinks) BUT it’s like 99% done! Lots of walking, lots of space, and the beach is unreal. It’s a chill island, way different than castaway. Also boarding day video will come, I just wanted to get the new island up asap! Enjoy

I did the walk! It wasn’t that bad honestly, but I did start feeling hot towards the end. They have golf carts going back and forth so I think you can just ask and use one probably.

For those of us that knew the absolute pristine beauty of Lighthouse Point before Disney was granted permission to turn it into yet another private beach cruise port, this is completely heart breaking. For the record, matching money was raised to turn this property into a national park, but the Bahamian government refused. Promises of local jobs never pan out in these situations because the on shore staff is filled by the cruise company. Please enjoy, but understand this comes at a high price - more than money can buy.
I love vids like these. I'm from the UK so it will be years until I get the opportunity to visit Lookout Cay, it's super exciting watching it through you. So happy for you that you have these amazing opportunities, you really deserve it!

It’s seems very unfinished and not for older folks. If Casey’s feet were hurting, I’d be dead. I hope they improve it more. Even where the characters dance is just like an unorganized mess. I’m sure they have kinks to work out but they better do more at those Disney cruise prices. It’s not ready in my opinion.
At 70, I am in pretty good shape, but not in the hot sun I could not walk it. They really need trams for the passengers and even kids.
The dude who runs though the garden to get in the front should be ashamed of himself. I'm sure ebay will be flooded with the merch these vultures attacked. Beautiful island...minus the humans envading it.

@@catherinetozzi8056 Disney does not own the island. Bahamian people live on this island but Disney has a spot on the island for their cruise line. Princess cruise line also has a section on the other side of the island. Beaches in Bahama are public so anyone can go on the beach but the amenities in this area are for Disney Cruise Line guest.
they actually purchased the property but they don't call it a private Island cause technically it's just a peninsula. Also it's an exclusive destination for DCL

It shouldn't have happened. Private groups raised funds that matched the Disney purchase price with the hopes the land could become a National Park but the Bahamian government refused. Makes one wonder about parts of the deal that were not transparent. Whenever this type of investment happens there are always promises of many local jobs and influx of money to the local economy. It never happens because the cruise line ends up providing all the staff on island and visitors very rarely leave the resort property. The cost of this goes far beyond the dollars spent.
I have a feeling there will be a record number of people missing the boat! That walkway is so long!
They never leave anyone stranded on their private island. Where would the people stay?
they have golf carts so if somehow got left behind they’d probably use those. I walked the walkway and honestly it’s not that bad, but I understand for elderly and little kids it could be difficult.

I shudder to think of a storm rolling in while you are only part way across. I think it should have been partly covered at least.
It is hurricane season and it will be with this new island. At my age, I do not think I could walk that. I am in pretty good shape but in the hot sun, I do not know about that. It would of been nice to have a tram to take all passengers to the island. I will be interested to see how the hurricanes affect it, if it is a bad storm. The storm surge could wash all of this away.

Those cabanas are that price for yes, no attendant & that cabana was not technically ocean front. You still have to cross over a bridge to get to the ocean.

There should be pools and water slides for everyone. I’m not sure how I feel about this island compared to Castaway Cay. Castaway has a I’m on a deserted island feel and I love it there. Maybe I’ll wait till I’m there before I give it my final review.
Thanks Casey for pointing out that there are fragile reefs surrounding the cay. No matter how Disney decides to transport folks, be it by walking or tram or boat, someone will complain (wait for the tram, wait for the boat, or just walk it) Heck most people walk thousands of steps a day at a park....

I agree that there will always be people that complain. However complaining about the wait for a tram is very different than complaining that there is no help for someone that physically can not make the walk. Its just disheartening that there isn't any help for those that are not able to walk that far. It's an accessibility issue.

I appreciate this review! We'll be there in November and now know what to expect. I'm not sure I'm super impressed with this island, but time will tell.
So im hearing that you can request a go cart at guest services to go up and down the pier. Which is just silly! You shouldn't have to request. They should have built the pier wide enough where it's like a airport, half walking side, half tram side. Trams go up and down back and forth constantly and the other half can be a walking side for those who feel good enough to walk. That would have made sense! But then with the adult beach not even minimally separated from the family beach, that's just sad. For me this destination is a pass but still thank you Kyle for taking us on the adventure!
Plus you can see in the kids section they made custom tarps for shade so why didn't they put those tarps up and down the pier for shade and along the walkways for some kind of cover.
Absolutely. Moreover, the time necessarily needed just to get to the experience and then back aboard is a genuine suboptimal miscalculation in my opinion

I was on the fantasy a day after you. You could only request a ride on the golf carts if you were in a ADA room. They didn’t have enough loungers for everyone. Long lines for food and the flies were really bad.

They don’t drink much at all in comparison to other vloggers. They seem to be mostly water and nonalcoholic drinkers with the occasional alcoholic drink or big night. Kyle has said many times you don’t need to drink to have fun!

Isn't it funny that so many people say, "Disney is just for kids" when its obvious that Disney markets to Adults, maybe even more so than kids, with so many drinking venues?

Honestly the beach is worth it though, the water is so clear and gorgeous. It’s not as bad in person, at least in my opinion.

that’s definitely a long walk from the ship to pier and back. but because of your video, me and my wife now know that we need to bring a stroller, umbrella, and fan for our 3 year old who may not be able to tolerate the distance. it’s just like being at wdw (be prepared!) except your destination is a beautiful island. not all are fortunate enough to visit places like this so being grateful is something we will always be. thank you both for the full tour!

To the people concerned about the walk. If you have any disabilities or any reason that long walk may be difficult, they have golf carts you can use. Go to guest services when you board to let them know. 😊

I think they each got a fan in their special welcome media gift bag! I remember they showed everything on their bed in their stateroom!! I liked the fan too!! 😊
The trams should go all the way up the peir because that's a ridiculous walk for older people and even some kids.
What I heard is that if you have mobility issues, you can request a ride to and from the pier.

This makes me so sad. Huge accessibility issues. The elderly, little kids, those with health issues. It doesnt seem they have done anything to assist them getting from point A to point B. Come on Disney.

I heard on another vlog that there are ramps up to the cabanas but no wheelchairs for the beach at all.

Thank you for the full tour of Lookout Cay! Beautiful island spaced out lovely so that people feel like they have their own private island and lots of bathrooms. There is a lot of walking though for those who have mobility issues. I love the way you greet all cast members and always say thank you, kudos to you.👍
Island looks beautiful. Most exotic place I go is Volcano Bay 😂.

I was really excited for this Kyle. My only critique is to slow down. I know it’s fast pace and exciting and wanting to show everything but I feel the footage was so shaky and almost too much. I felt the anxiety. Sometimes less is more. Anyways. Love the vlogs and Casey looks stunning as always ❤
Thanks for the full tour of the Island @KylePallo, but, yeah, the let's hurry and be first was getting to me. I appreciate seeing everything, but a little slower pace would have made it more enjoyable for me. At one point, Casey wanted to go see Minnie (and I wanted to see her too 😊), but it was a not now from KP as he needed to show another bar.
