- Welcome back to this episode where we look to finally address the fuel starvation issue on my MK5 Golf R32 Turbo. We fit a brand-new fuel pump into a second-hand fuel sender and this fixes our fuel starvation issue.

Great job. Why not add an external fuel pump?
I wanted a proper OE fitment. I want it to be very daily drivable. Maybe when I go much more power I’ll have to look at that or a surge tank.

Bro, great job there. Could you kindly send me the specs of that Sytec fuel pump you installed. I need to order one for my Stocm mk5 r32 4 motion..but am not sure the specs..I have the same fuel starvation issue with my after market fuel pump...and i hope what you have here can sort it out.

What sort of cost are we talking for the diy conversion? Parts, and mapping..roughly? Did you buy a package from one place or buy all the bits separately? Thanks, great build btw👍🏻
Thanks. All parts purchased separately. And in my first episode I put a spreadsheet with everything I have purchased and relevant links etc. it cost around 4.5k but recently I’ve had to spend another £1500 on clutches, flywheel and new manifold.

@@road_2_pow_r I went with the sad style. This one is a genuine spa manifold though. See if it’s any better than the Chinesee copies
So im from the states, i put the sytec in cus my fuel pump was dying and i broke the smaller fitting on the fuel pump for the jet pump/siphon, should i try to jb weld the fitting back on while i wait for a new pump to show up? I put the fuel pump on and started the car with the broken fitting and it was stumbling and when i revved it it didnt sound happy, afrs were 16 at idle.
I wouldn’t run it at all. You will starve the car of fuel. And JB weld might just break when you put the hose on or when it’s submerged in fuel. I wouldn’t.
@@OctaneFever what i ended up doing was plugging the broken fitting and jb welding it shut lol im not sure if that was a good idea but i only need it to last a week until the new one shows up. Car runs good now, no break ups and afrs are 14.7 at idle. Shouldnt be a problem as long as i keep the tank full right?

It was mapped at 401bhp but I’m running more boost now so I’d estimate around 450hp
Such a shame they don't make one that is compatible with e85 that also has a higher flow rate
Yeah it is. But also it’s very difficult and expensive to use ethanol. It’s only available in race gas which is something like $100 for 20liters.
@@OctaneFever we have it pretty freely available in Australia, I have 3 petrol stations within 10 minutes of me where I can buy e85 for about $2.30 per litre Australian. Makes a massive difference to how far you can tune and allows a lot more timing and boost to be safer. I love your videos I just wish I could find an e85 compatible drop in fuel pump that will flow 550-600whp of e85 haha
@@chrisdickman7080 yeah I wish we had it here, fingers crossed we get it in the future. Most people use water meth to try and do the same thing here.
