    I’ve read a lot of comments and let me just sum it up. The biggest problem is because the insurance companies have all the money they try to dictate policy, business practices and even control B2B relationships fixing profit margins that shouldn’t happen as long as prices are within the prevailing price range. I had over 30 years in the automotive industry owning a collision repair shop and the same issues exist there. Insurance gets more expensive and companies try everything possible to use substandard products and services because shareholders are more important to them than their customers. The Home and Automobile are two the most important purchases a person makes. So why is it unreasonable when you have damage and need to use your coverage you pay thousands of dollars into that you have to fight to be made whole rather than they say let’s see how we’ve can get you back to pre loss as quickly and conveniently as possible so we can keep you as a satisfied customer.

    You want to actually show us what you're claiming is 'hail'? Because it looks like this is just an old roof. One of the spots you mock him for putting a dash under is clearly not hail- it looks like mechanical damage (possibly a tool drop). But the ridge caps and gutters somehow look like they're in excellent condition, and I'm not seeing dents/rings on the roof. It sounds like you assume insurance is supposed to pay for old roofs, but insurance isn't for wear/tear, age, latent defect, inadequate/faulty planning/installation, etc.

    • @EddieLuck1
      @EddieLuck1 Před rokem +16

      @choossuck That's not the adjuster its one of the few comments with common sense. If there's hail damage and not just a bunch of blistering on an old roof why doesn't the roofer show the gutters, ridge, and hip shingles with hail impacts on them? If there's hail large enough to cause functional damage to an asphalt shingle, there will be damage to soft metals at the very least. But grabbing your pitch fork is much easier than educating yourself.

    Not defending insurance companies at all, they are in the business to collect premiums and pay as few claims as possible to keep their stock price up and their shareholders happy.
    However, many roofing companies I've dealt with aren't the most honest either. After an initial claim is paid, many will submit a second claim to try and get O&P (overhead and profit) which is summarily denied by the insurance company and the roofing company then puts that onus on the homeowner to "join them in the fight to get their O&P claim paid. I tell roofing companies, that's between you and the insurance company, not me and if you had submitted O&P in the first place, we wouldn't be in this situation. Not saying all are like this but the great deal majority of roofing companies I've run into seem to lack see business ethics as well.

    Insurance adjuster here, The real issue is roofers tell the homeowner there's all this damage (that's how roofers make money) and then we come along and there's either no damage or its not hail or wind its blistering, thermal cracks or normal wear and tear from an older roof. And then there's the comment "well my neighbor just got a new roof", well your neighbors roof might be older/newer different pitch, different shingle etc. There's a lot of factors for a roof inspection. Generally I try to approve most roofs I get on however, roofers these days will throw anything out and hope it sticks.

    I called an State Farm adjuster years ago after a hailstorm. The whole neighborhood was replaced. He said minimal damage not exceeding the deductible.
    I screwed up not calling a roofer.
    The following year I had two inches of aggregate in the gutters. And nothing but problems until I paid out of pocket to replace. Another adjuster tried to screw me on a water heater failure. The agent took care of me when he found out.
    I got even somewhat this year. Hail hit my truck. And normally I wouldn’t claim that. It’s a truck for driving to work. Looks don’t matter and I will most likely sell for scrap when I’m done with it. Damn hail damage is expensive on vehicles.
    Note to State Farm. If you have a discount for not covering hail dents I would consider.

      @@mezmerizer0266 Can you explain why the roof needs to be replaced? I’m a roofing consultant in FL and curious as to your thought process. I couldn’t see any hail impact to the asphalt shingles in that video. Insurance policies unfortunately don’t cover age-related wear. Now if there was hail damage, then yes the laminate shingles are no longer in a serviceable condition and repairs should not even be considered. The roofer complaining should have marked both examples to show why one condition was hail impact and to show that the other conditions that the adjuster marked were not hail impact. All I hear in this video is whining with no visual evidence of anything. There are garbage roofers and adjusters on both sides.

    why he using a rope? it looks like a 5 or 6 pitch, one thing you MUST learn is to respect the adjuster if they deny your just have the homeowner request for a reinspection. I'm a ladder assist who works with adjusters from time to time, you dint have to kiss their butt but you should be respectful even if you disagree! Some adjuster will buy your roof just cause they like you and some will deny your roof cause they don't like you. Trust me I know! Be respectful and go with their flow some adjusters are jerks but just be respectful. Some adjuster are looking to buy roofs cause the more damage the more paper work the more they get paid.
