Nice video. Thanks for the information on the pins. I have the side lock Adventure for probably 30 years & it’s never had an issue. I got the the 111mm soldier. I don’t like or use it because of the serrations and liner lock.
This knife already existed earlier as the Centurion, but when Victorinox discontinued the slide lock models in 2017, they removed the Adventurer (which had the same tool set but was a slide locking model originally) and renamed the liner locking Centurion to Adventurer. Pretty confusing.
Why do your use your thumb to pull the liner lock to fold the locking blade and flat head screwdriver? This linear lock is designed for you to use your index finger to “push” the lock to keep all fingers safe instead of “pulling” it and putting you at a chance of injury. I’ve seen several videos of this locking mechanism and no one seems to realize this.
Most liner locks work in the opposite direction and its your thumb that's in the line of fire if the blade closes on it, will hurt and bleed but probably not cut deep enough to hit tendons. Your index finger is a lot slimmer with tendons both extender and contraction close to the surface. If you look at my index finger its heavily scarred from multiple injuries and corrective surgery so I recommend looking after yours regards Mike
One of the reasons I don't like the cork screw is because it's thicker than the Phillips and sits higher than the scales. Also on the 91 mm models. The ones with the Phillips sit nicer in the hand.
Very good and complete review! Thanks mate !
its a great package I carried the picnic version in my climbing days
Great video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Because of the Phillips, the Adventurer is more like a larger Tinker, not a larger Spartan.

The pin size problem only shows up on the knives with three or more layers I too am no fan of the soldier blade

The 111mm side lock I broke had pliers I think 🤔 it was a Hercules the 2.5 mm pins weren’t up to the job
Great and useful vid. Thanks, and greetings from Poland.

I wish they would make a 91 mm with out a corkscrew or Phillips like the recruit in the 84mm size
