Also, Obama was the first president to appoint openly transgender persons to his administration, the first president to utter the word "transgender", fiercely supported helping gender dysphoric individuals to exist healthfully in public spaces, created the LGBT liason position, he repealed "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", ended legal defense of DOMA, signed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act into law, mutliple directives on LGBT civil rights, developing and releasing the Nation’s first comprehensive plan for responding to the domestic HIV epidemic, protecting LGBT people's healthcare access, addressed bullying and suicide on LGBT youth in his first term through meetings and videos (first time ever a meeting as such occurred in the White House), reaffirmed LGBT students could form Gay-straight alliances on campuses, a 2014 order that created workplace protections for LGBT workers at the federal level and first to protect workers on the basis of gender identity, etc. etc. etc.
Due to his historical relationship with the LGBT community, it's foreseeable that his position would evolve despite always being consistent on LGBT civil rights and consistent on admitting he could be wrong on his same-sex stance (like he did in his 2006 memoir).
TLDR: that was a speculative and one-dimensional look on the issue

I'm gay and I agree with you 100%. No one should judge an entire group of people based on a sample of that group. Although I am an atheist man, I support all forms of religion, everyone is free to have its own spiritual opinions/beliefs or lack of them. I really wish more people were as open and as respectful as me & blobby are. Hug !

If you look closely at the set, the 2 blueish screens on the sides are exactly like the screens on Ellen's set. I think its the same set! :D
Although many protestors fighting against gay marriage are using religion as their reasoning, that doesnt define what religion is about. im a christian, very involved in church organizations, and i 110% support gay marriage. religion doesnt tell you to be prejudice; its the people who twist the religion into something its not who use it as their weapon and stance.
It hurts that some people think that all religious people are homophobic. I love my religion, and I totally support gay rights too. And I am 100% sure I'm not the only one

And, this happened over and over again. I finally got up enough courage and strength to LEAVE that Church (a United Pentecostal Church). Actually what happened is my former Pastor ended up talking to my boss (who also happened to go to that Church) and asked him how much money I was making so HE could figure out how much money I should have been paying in tithes and offerings. He kicked me out when he found out I wasn't giving as much money as HE thought I should have been giving.

I told him that I would just go to another United Pentecostal Church. He told me, "Go ahead. See how that works out for ya. I will *not* sign a 'letter of transfer' till you pay up all that money - your CURRENT tithes, your BACK tithes, and then 5% interest." He said that there is a verse in the Old Testament which says you have to pay a "fifth thereof" if you are late in paying your tithes. Plus, not only did he want all of this money, he also wanted my offerings, too.

I told him that I had to pay my Dad money each month (because he co-signed for me to get a truck at the time). And, he said, "No excuse! Where are your priorities?!!? With God or with man (your Dad)???" So, I explained to him that my number one priority was with God. But, I also explained that I didn't want to SCREW my Dad over, either, by paying my Pastor money and then NOT having enough to pay him for the car note I promised him I would pay. He told me that I would go to HELL if I didn't pay.

I can understand what you are saying here. I am one of those people who went to a very abusive and homophobic Church. And, because I went to this really abusive Church (which was also extremely homophobic, too), I now tend to think that ALL Churches (or pretty much most of them, anyway) ARE like this. But, my family keeps trying to tell me what YOU are saying. And, I am starting to see that this is the truth. I guess we have just been sooooo hurt by these other Churches. And, that's why ....
You are talking to a men or an Institutions creating by men. I've being visiting many churches and I didn't have any problem. First, because I study about God . That's the best thing you could do and also GOD told you to do so nobody fools you. You have know why the churches and when the churches where created and why and how they work. There are many churches that can fit your mentality but there's only one God and he is the same. So if you look for him, he'll be the same in all scriptures that talk about him. The versions are many but only one God. Just remember that.

Lets not forget Obama was against gay marriage until 2012, the first year that the majority of voters supported it. Better late than never -but let's not assume it was somehow a moral epiphany for him that just happened to occur right before an election year.

Sorry to ask but:
1. Then what is it? Preventing someone from doing something that is allowed for everyone else is denying their right.
2. Should childless couples be inferior to couples with children? What is the public benefits of having kids and not being able to raise them? Should a woman who has passed her time to have kids be banned from being married? If a spouse dies, should the surviving one be killed because he/she can't provide the "public benefits of 2 biological parents"?

So if a woman uses sperm donor to have a child since her husband's unable to "do it", should their marriage be void and null? If someone's divorced, their children cannot be adopted by their mother's/father's new spouse because he/she's not the biological parent? Should an adopted child be worthless in the society because he/she was not born out of "sexual union" of the 2 adopting parents? Should a child be born out of wedlock but both parents are together, he/she's still socially unacceptable?
